The owner does maintain, facilitate and manage the use of lakefront, boats, pool, hot tub, patio furniture, pergola, TVs, gardens, courtyard, walking paths, birding patio, boathouse, detached garage, and any guest requests or needs. (The house workings are complicated;)
As a retired Wisconsin Judge I am able to officiate weddings anywhere in the state. Marriage License needs to be applied for in County of ceremony. My home is in Waukesha County.

We spent so much time relaxing by the pier, lounging in comfy chairs, and taking out the canoes and paddleboat on the lake. Cheese right at the house! There was so much space inside and out, making it ideal for our big family of 16. Get ready for a luxe kitchen with higher end appliances! (Why settle for standard, when you can have stainless & granite?!) The rest of the house is older with original floors and older windows & carpet and tons of charm. 2 bedrooms upstairs - a plush king in the master and there is a twin and another twin on a fun slide fort bed in the second room perfect of a kid under 12, & the main floor bedroom has a queen bed. We have central air and we have also added two extra air conditioning units upstairs after a few guests commented that on super hot evenings the central air wasn't cutting it upstairs. So you will be plenty cool in summer and very comfy in winter because the heat works great plus there is a cozy wood burning fireplace! We want you to have an amazing stay! Lakes and parks close by and you will find everything you need including books, games, DVDs, workout equipment and toiletries... The basement provides free laundry and the extra full bathroom for your convenience! The breezeway leads to the garage, which holds some storage for the house, but we can arrange one garage space for a small car, otherwise there is plenty of driveway parking available. The large lot is fully available for you to enjoy the firepit and kid's toys. Inside you will find smart TV (no cable, but wifi streaming available as well as a blue ray player and assortment of DVDs). Please note that the beds and boxsprings are on the floors of the bedrooms instead of squeeky bedfames... who needs those... and still the standard 27 inches high off the ground, so don't worry! Bedding is plush and you will find everything you need for a comfortable stay with extra linens to trade out available. It's not a hotel, but a home in a family neighborhood - an oldie but a goodie! If you are coming with small children, please let us know of any special needs! Location is great near fun lakes, dining, Oconomowoc beach & bandstand and close to Lapham Peak with the best CC skiing in southern Wisco! Lots of hiking nearby, and the neighborhood is friendly and quieter with sidewalks to playgrounds, the river, and even the famous 100 year old Rhodee Greenhouse with a celebrity banana tree!

The space
This historic home is filled with character, from the original wood floors to the leaded glass built in bookshelves in the dining room. The home is well cared for and features a nautical motif. Like many older homes, the bedrooms are not huge but offer just enough space, and you’ll be surprised by the roomy closets in each of the rooms! A highlight is the 3 season porch with heat, allowing for bonus space for those working from home or looking for a quiet, sunny spot to read. A partially finished basement includes a washer and dryer, second refrigerator, and a rustic media room with well loved leather couches and a 75-inch top of the line Samsung TV. Other things to note
An important piece of information is that the driveway is shared with a wonderful neighbor to the north. Guests will have access to the single care garage (please note, it is a manual pull up and down garage) as well as an open space directly adjacent. Maximum 2 cars for the property to allow neighbor egress to his property. Street parking is always an option in the neighborhood, however, there is not overnight street parking allowed between Dec 1 and March 1.

There are three bedrooms upstairs. The master and middle bedroom are equipped with flat screen tv's and include cable.

Other things to note
This is a 1940's home, you can see the house in its original home in the picture on the wall in the dining room. There is a fireplace in the master to help make you comfortable in the winter months and sliding doors open to a deck for summer ventilation. There is central air throughout the rest of the home.

The house uses a septic system. Please be considerate and not flush feminine hygiene products or anything other than human waste and toilet paper down the toilet.

The perfect lake house for a family or a group of friends: kayaks, fire pit, gas grill, bags, jukebox, darts, bumper pool and sunsets on the deck. Near Erin Hills for golfers (15 minutes). Down the road from the Kettle Moraine hiking trails (10 minutes) and the Nashotah dog park (5 minutes). Several bars and restaurants within 5 minutes. The very best in lake life, outdoor life and night life.

The space
SLEEPING QUARTERS NOTE:

We have 6 separate beds in this cabin: two queen beds and four single beds (sleeps a total of 8 people in beds). We also have a fairly decent pull out couch in the main living room if your group needs 10 spots for sleeping, although it will be a bit tight.

MORE GENERAL INFO:

The Airbnb is one of the only true log constructed residences on Okauchee Lake and is located on the Northeast corner of the lake, giving it access to both Okauchee Lake and the Oconomowoc River. The home was built in the late 1980s using logs imported from Montana.

The house has 60 feet of lake frontage and has a full walkout deck off the lower level living room that looks out over the only part of Okauchee Lake that is a designated wildlife corridor. In this preserved area, there are 10 acres of undeveloped wetlands that contain several types of local wildlife. There's a reason we leave a set of binoculars at the lodge!

INTERIOR FURNISHINGS:

The home has new TVs, new bathrooms, new furniture, Nest thermostat and modern electronic appliances, and various improvements to the existing deck and outdoor spaces. We aimed to create a cabin in nature with some rustic charm, but without sacrificing any modern conveniences or amenities. The home itself is split over two equal levels, with each level being approximately 900 square feet.

First Floor (Entry Level):

When you enter the front door of the Elk Lodge, you walk into the heart of the home with an open layout. On your immediate left, you will find a kitchen equipped with an oven, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. We have both a regular coffee machine and a Keurig machine, as well as all the pots, pans, dishes, glasses and silverware that you need during your stay. Above the kitchen, you will find a new lofted bedroom that comfortably holds a queen size bed, loveseat couch and overlooks the main living room and out onto the water. Below the lofted bedroom and next to the kitchen, you will find a fully remodeled bathroom that services the upper floor of the house.

On the right side as you walk in the front door of the Elk Lodge, you will see the main living area that includes a gas fireplace (with an on/off remote control), 75" Smart TV and jukebox with 100 CDs containing 80s / 90s / 00s hits. The couch is an oversized sleeper model that can hold two people if the three bedrooms are not quite enough to hold your group.

Just outside the front door you will also find a gas grill and picnic table.

At the far back corner of the first floor, there is a spiral staircase that takes you down into the lower level of the Elk lodge.

Second Floor (Lower Level):

Coming down the spiral staircase you will land in the second living room space of the Elk Lodge. This space is a bit cozier than the upstairs space, while still including a 65" Smart TV, full size couch and sitting chair. Tucked back around the corner from the living room are two bedrooms and a bathroom. The primary bedroom has views over the river and has a new Queen memory foam mattress. The second bedroom has dual bunk beds and a 58" Smart TV. As you can see in the pictures, this room is a kids paradise for nighttime or rainy days - just sign into your Netflix or bring your own gaming console and the kids may not leave this room (for better or for worse).

Back in the lower level living room, there is a sliding screen door that takes you out onto the attached deck. The deck is 50 feet by 12 feet, and overlooks the water, providing the perfect vantage point to wildlife and wetlands. On the left side of the deck, the staircase down to the water (35 stairs) will get you to the dock where you can fish or launch the kayaks onto the water.

Other things to note
The lake is perfect for fishing, kayaking, and boating! However, due to natural vegetation, swimming directly from the dock may not always be ideal. Many of our guests enjoy using the floating aqua lily pad, water floats, and kayaks off the pier for fun on the water. For those looking to swim, some of the best swimming areas around Okauchee Lake can be accessed by boat, and there are public beaches nearby. Boat rentals are available at Tinus Marine and Golden Boat Rentals, offering pontoons, jet skis, and more to enhance your stay!

Calling all family vacationers, couples,  golfers, wedding goers, motorcyclists, fishermen, birdwatchers, nature lovers and anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in a charming home on the lake! Welcome to the Lily Pad, we are so excited to share our little slice of paradise with you!

The space
Our home is located in the northeast corner of the lake where the Oconomowoc River meets Okauchee Lake, giving you access to both beautiful waters. For golfers, we are located 15 minutes south of Erin Hills, a premier Midwest golf destination. For motorcyclists, we are right along the Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive and next to Hollywoods Roadhouse Bar and Grill.  If you are a nature lover, you can watch the cranes , herons, and egrets as they wade in the wetlands fishing for their next meal and listen to the crickets and bullfrogs sing in the night. There is a double kayak, two single kayaks, and a four person paddle boat available for you to use at your own leisure to explore the surrounding waters.  Feel free to bring any of your own water toys to explore the lake, there are two docking spaces available and room in front of the garage to park several cars or a Truck/SUV with trailer.  Are you attending a wedding at the Golden Mast?  This humble abode is just an 8 minute drive away or zip across the lake on your boat.  The Lily Pad truly has something for everyone.     

The Living Space:
This is a 3 bedroom plus loft, 2 bathroom, 1700 sq foot home with 150ft of waterfront footage.

When you walk through the front door, you will enter into the foyer with a reading nook to your left boasting large picture windows overlooking the lake.  To your right you will see an open concept living space with a wall of picture windows overlooking the lake, vaulted tongue and grove ceilings, natural pine trim-work, a fully stocked kitchen with island and quartzite countertops, an eight person dining room table and a comfy "L" shaped couch with 60in Roku TV.  Off the kitchen you will find bedroom 1 with a queen sized bed. Across from this bedroom is a full bath (tub/shower combo). Between the kitchen and living room is a ladder that lowers to provide access to the loft.

As you walk down the stairs from the living room area, you will enter the lower level bar, complete with a beverage/wine refrigerator as well as an ice maker for your patio cocktails and boat cooler.  This area walks out to the spacious deck overlooking the water.  To the left of the bar you will find bedroom 2, a small but cozy bedroom/nursery with a full bed as well as a crib and changing table.  To the right of the bar you will enter bedroom 3, the master, with a king size bed and walkout patio door to the deck.  This lower level also has a full bathroom with a walk-in shower that adjoins with the laundry room offering commercial sized washer/dryer.  The spacious gated deck is equipped with an outdoor sectional sofa, gas fire pit table, patio table with umbrella, and large gas grill. Walk down the stairs off the deck and down the grass pathway to find yourself at an elevated fire pit overlooking the lake.

Dottie's gas station/convenience store is just a 2 minute drive away and offers literally anything and everything you could possibly need, plus, their home-made bakery items are delightful!

Boating on the lake:
We absolutely love this lake and all it has to offer.  There are multiple bar/restaurants that can be accessed by boat, including Hollywoods Bar and Grill, The Hideaway, The Golden Mast, Foolery's, Smoke on the Water, Kick Switch, and Whiskey Waters. Please respect the lake and our neighbors.

Of note:  
*This house is a primary residence for the host when not being rented, as such, there are several areas locked for the storage of personal belongings, including the master closet, master bathroom, and garage.
*Our home next to a wonderful establishment called Hollywood's Bar and Grill. Please do not park in Hollywood's parking lot. We do have a ring doorbell for security purposes at our front door. 
*We have 2 boat slip renters. Access to their boats is the stairs between the garage and house. You may see them or us in passing when heading out on the boat.
*We do have 2 extra slips at no extra charge for our AirBnb renters. Please let us know if you are bringing your boat/jet ski or looking to rent a boat so we may provide you with further information :)

Our names are Nita and Joe, and we are the proud owners of Pappy House. We have owned our home for almost 25 years, and it has been a real labor of love!

We have spent the better part of the past 4 years restoring and upgrading our historic 1924 home and lake front property. Our goal was to breathe new life into this historic beauty, while preserving the 1920's charm and adding every modern convenience. We are head over heels with how it turned out and we hope you feel the same.

Please note that this property is our personal residence, and we kindly ask that you treat it with the same care and respect you would your own. We've put a lot of love into creating a warm, comfortable space, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

We are only offering Pappy House for rent during a few select weeks each summer, so availability is very limited. Please reach out if you have dates that are not available on the calendar. We may be able to move some things around and accommodate your request!
General Items to note:
We do have two dogs of our own, though they will not be present during your visit. While we take great care to ensure the home is sparkling clean for each guest, an occasional stray dog hair may be seen despite our best efforts. For that reason, we do not recommend booking our home if you are allergic to dogs or feel that the presence of a stray dog hair would negatively impact your experience. We also do not allow pets of any kind.

We steam clean all hard surfaces prior to your stay and will have the furniture professionally cleaned prior to your arrival. We launder ALL bedding before your arrival and maintain an entirely separate set of laundered bedding for each bedroom. This bedding has never been in contact with our pets.

Additionally, due to the home’s proximity to the lake, we do occasionally have a few insects despite regular pest control efforts. This is a natural part of the environment, and we just ask that you be aware.

Make your vacation one to remember! Incredible private estate surrounded by 5 acres of rolling terrain and hardwoods. Enjoy over 330 feet of Lake front, tennis court, in-ground pool, sauna, playhouse and 80ft pier. Large and luxurious kitchen. Seven spacious bedrooms, six bathrooms, billiard and game room, 800 sq. ft. conservatory, 3rd floor bonus room, playroom, and media room. a Private beach was also added to the lake frontage

Other things to note
The rental rate for 7 nights between May 27th and September 15th (the summer season) is $1,950.00 per night. After that the off season 7 night rental rate is $1,750.00 per night. If you wish to stay 3 to 5 nights instead of 7 please contact owner directly for rate quote and availability. We can do 3 to 5 nights anytime however, if you wish to stay 3 to 5 nights the stay will typically cost an additional $350.00 per night to the posted 7 night rate for the same time period. If you wish to stay from between December 9th to January 30th or over Spring Break the 7 day rate is $2,350 per night. I realize this may be a bit complicated so feel free to message me if you have any questions.

Also there is no way to set up the reservations for the renter to pay the airbnb booking fee or the admistrative fee so the cleaning fee is higher then normal to also cover those items. Renters will need to sign a separate lease for the house which is approved by my insurance company. This lease will be essentially the same as your booking, but may have a few changes because the site doesn't offer the opportunity to cover all these items in their listing input options. We can touch base by phone once you book to go over the lease to make sure you understand and are comfortable with it.

There is a 60 cancellation policy (No way to post this on the site). If you cancel within 60 days of your reservation your first half deposit is nonrefundable. If you cancel within 30 days of your stay your entire rental fee along with sales tax is nonrefundable.
