Relax in our 600 sq ft remodeled cabin in the Indian head region of Northern Wisconsin. This rustic-modern cabin has a 15' x 23' foot great room with a 15' ceiling and lots of windows overlooking Axehandle Lake. The kitchen is equipped with a full-sized stove, refrigerator, and microwave hood, and fully stocked kitchen ware. The quaint 12' x 14' bedroom has a queen sized bed, along with a twin over full bunk bed that can accommodate up to 5 individuals. The bathroom has a 36" shower, vintage sink vanity, and washer and dryer. If you enjoy an architectural look, with high ceilings, a mixture of oak and galvanized metal siding, and fresh white trim, then this is the place for you. The best part of the cottage is the 9' x 14' screened porch to enjoy the outdoors, listening to the wind whistling in the tall pine trees and looking over the lake below. AC has been added for cooling on those hot days as well!

Non-motorized boats are available (canoe, 2 kayaks, and row boat) to explore the 86 acre lake that is clear and great for fishing or swimming. Life jackets and paddles/oars are provided. Or just sit down on the new dock and fish off shore if you prefer using our vintage aluminum, webbed lawn chairs. In the evening relax by the fire pit, roasting s'mores, or inside playing games, watching movies (flat-screen Google TV with limited channels, DVD, and ability to link to your streaming services) or doing puzzles for a remote but relaxing vacation away from the everyday grind. Wifi is available. Note, we have it furnished and decorated as our vacation get-a-way, so not just the bare rental minimums you might find elsewhere! We rented the pontoon for our group which makes for great lake excursions. We took advantage of the city docks for a quick ride to town for dinner and exploring downtown Chetek. While we struggled finding fish on the lake, we caught blue gills right of the dock back at the house! Welcome to Papa's Place!

Our comfortable 2 bedroom, 1 bath, lakefront house with a beautiful sunroom. The entire house is yours to feel at home in. It is just steps down to the private dock and grassy lawn. The wrap around patio has a gas BBQ grill and plenty of seating. The balcony overlooks the lake where you can read a book, throw your lines out, or watch the Hydroflites ski show just half block away- which is also where the public boat launch is.

Across the road is a public park with a large playground, and a couple blocks north is the public swim beach. The downtown area has antique stores, restaurants, bars, pubs and more, as well as a grocery store to get yourself stocked for your stay.

There are plenty of fun places to boat to for lunch or a drink. Some of our favorite are Red's Grill and Bar (https://redsgrillandbar.com)(really good pizza), Pokegama Lakeside Cantina (https://www.pokegamalakeside.com) for upscale Mexican, or Gilligan's (https://www.gilliganschetek.com/menu)for a lively atmosphere. And they all have live music pretty often too! Our favorite is probably Phills Bar and Grill (https://www.yelp.com/biz/phills-bar-and-grill-chetek). A very casual place with a surprisingly amazing menu.

This quiet cabin can provide a relaxing getaway or a memorable family vacation. We rent Friday to Friday in the summer months and two night minimum in the fall, winter, and spring. We are located right on Ten Mile Lake in Chetek WI. Inside you will find an all stone gas fireplace and pine siding just right for a northwoods retreat. We have a full kitchen and bathroom. There is a dining area and a couch to relax on and watch the water or the fire. The bedroom on the main floor has a queen size bed and upstairs you will find a sizable loft with a TV/VCR and a futon. Pull the shades for a cozy romantic evening or let the sun shine in and enjoy the sceenery. Outside there is a semi-private yard, fire pit, and picnic table for each of the two sides of the cabin. There is also a shared dock with a pontoon that is available for rent, and a play structure with a sandbox.

This cabin does not have direct lake access however there are many lakes very close by. There is a washer and dryer in the cabin that you are welcome to use.

Relax with the whole family at our lodge on Sand Lake. This house comes with lake access as you can simply walk across the street and enjoy the water. For those looking to escape, slow down, and enjoy the lake life, this is the perfect place.

If you love to fish or have a boat, you will have your own dock to enjoy the water. The water area is shared with one other cabin only. Please enjoy your stay and relax at the lake.

The full Lodge is yours to use and enjoy! To access the dock, walk across the street and to the left of the Lake house(which is also able to be rented, separate listing). There are two docks and yours will be the one on the left, staight ahead when you walk down the hill to the lake. The water area between the two docks is shared between yourself and the lower cabin.

Other things to note
The large parking pad is for the lake house parking. Please park in the driveway right in front of the lodge. If more parking is required, please let know and I can see if the large parking pad is available.

The left side of the blacktop parking pad is the boundary line so please stay on our side and not venture into the neighbors area or grass.

Enjoy being steps from the water on Sand Lake which is one of the clearest lakes in the area.

The updated cottage has all modern amenities which adds to the lake side appeal. For those who fish or like to boat, a private dock is provided for you and also steps to get in the water and cool off.

There is a fire pit, Traeger Grill, full deck with lounge chairs, tables to enjoy meals with the family, and outdoor speaker system to enjoy some music.

Guest access
As you come up to the property to park, you will see a large blacktop parking pad. That entire parking space is for you to use. Park, walk towards the water and the cottage will be right below you. Walk down to the LEFT and onto the deck. cross the deck and the entry door is on the south side.

You will have access to the entire cottage with a code generated for you. During the season you will have a private dock and a few water toys to play with like paddle boards and smaller kayaks.

The water area between the docks is a shared space with the lodge above by the road. The lodge guest will only have access during daylight hours.

Other things to note
The water should be on for you when you come to stay. If not I will let you know and how to turn on the water so you can use all the amenities. It's an easy process, just a switch and a lever.

If water toys are available they will be by the cottage, most likely leaning up behind it on the retaining wall or the side of the home. Please share with any lodge guests and have fun!

Please be aware of the property lines with the neighbor to the north and stay off her grass.

Welcome to our home away from home, Sunset Haven. It’s located on the beautiful and clear, Long Lake. The lake is approximately 950 acres and a popular swimming, fishing and boating destination. We have picturesque views of sunsets across the lake. Sunset Haven is close to the Wisconsin Ice Age Trail, offering year-round entertainment, local animal information and exhibits, many beautiful hiking and cross-country trails.

The space
Make some new memories! During the winter, you have access to miles of snowmobile paths throughout. Ice fishing! Grab your gear and walk directly onto the lake and pick a great fishing spot! There is also access (across the lake) to snowmobile or drive the lake. Try snowshoeing! Rentals and paths are available at the Ice Age Trail. Then, warm up with some hot cocoa when you get back inside!

In the summer, picture late nights around the glowing fire, gliding on hand-made Amish chairs, roasting marshmallows, all while listening to loons calling around the lake. THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STAYING WITH US:
* The cabin is connected to well water (safe for drinking). We’ve also added a water cooler for easy access to immediate hot water, cold water and a Keurig coffee maker.
* In the summer, we spray for mosquitos and ticks every three weeks. If this service happens to occur during your stay, you simply need to stay off the lawn for 30 minutes and then proceed as usual. We apologize if this interrupts your stay in any way.
* THERE IS NO AC in the cabin. The cabin is surrounded by trees and we have ceiling fans + floor fans in all rooms to keep the cabin cooler in the summer months.
* The cabin has a grassy shoreline, which leads into a sandy bottom lake. We do our best to remove weeds, but there are some grass-like weeds along the bottom. The property has a very shallow decline off the shore so it's great for all ages to wade in.
* The roads are plowed quickly after snowstorms and we will clear the snow up to the house.

The space
This 1100 acre lake is a good fishing lake and is fully recreational. Snow mobile trails are open and accessible from the lake.

The cabin has a full kitchen, two full bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, a gorgeous great room with amazing lake views! Two bedrooms have queen beds, one bedroom has a full bed and futon, the 4th bedroom has a queen bed and 2 twin beds

Nearby towns of Chetek and Bloomer ( 20 min north and south) offer plenty of fun activities for families, couples, and individuals. Enjoy restaurants, bars, coffee shop, boutique shopping, library, and grocery store. There will be information available at the cabin detailing local restaurants, bars, and other points of interest...Maybe a tour of the Leinie's Brewery in nearby Chippewa Falls? The Ice Age Trail is a local favorite stopping spot for hiking and fun with the kids. Take an 8 minute ride to take a journey along Wisconsin's glacial landscapes. It offers a mini museum where kids can identify critters native to the area.

The space
This true "northwoods cabin" style home and boathouse have been impeccably maintained and updated, keeping the original charm and structure fully intact. House sleeps up to 8, and the three-season overflow sleeping space for 8 in the boathouse offers unique accommodations just inches from the water. Spacious screen porch, living room and dining room share the same incredible view of the lake from the perfect perch up on a nice rise from the shoreline.

The space
Welcome to Loon’s Nest Cabin on Lower Long Lake. The Cabin is located on a secluded, beautifully forested, peninsula that juts out into the middle of Lower Long Lake. The Cabin is perched atop a hill giving it views to the East for sunrises over the lake, and West for sunsets over the lake. The Cabin was built in 1948, and while it has been modernized over the years, it still retains its classic Northern Wisconsin Cabin Feel with an all wood interior and fieldstone fireplace. The Cabin has been in our family for over five decades and is a special place where we learned to swim, play cards with our grandmother, and fish with our grandfather. The Cabin interior features a full kitchen, breakfast nook, great room with lofted ceiling, family room, sun porch, large outdoor deck, 1.5 bathrooms, two bedrooms each with a king bed, and a large lofted bedroom perfect for kids with five beds. The Cabin exterior features a large lawn perfect for games, two separate sets of docks (we used one for swimming and one for boats), a pickle ball court, screened-in gazebo, a lakeside patio with fire pit (need burn permits), propane grill, and is surrounded by forests on all sides. ****The Cabin does not have air conditioning****

Lower Long Lake is an over 1100 acres will several large open areas of water perfect for water sports. Fish available to catch in this lake are Walleye, Musky, Bass, Northern Pike, and Panfish.

The Cabin is located on a private gravel & dirt road not suitable for very low ground clearance vehicles. The speed limit on this road is 15 MPH. The road runs past several neighbor’s homes with pets and children; drive slowly and carefully. We suggest arriving prior to sundown, finding Loon’s Nest after dark will be challenging.

There are four parking spaces: two in front of the garage and a driveway long enough to support two vehicles parked in tandem, or a vehicle and boat trailer, in front of the cabin. No other parking spots are available. Parking on the gravel road or on the lawn is not allowed. A map of these four spots will be provided.

The front door has an electronic keypad for entry. We will send you the entry code on your day of check-in. Please let us know how you would like to receive this code. (text, e-mail, phone call).

No Fireworks

Please be considerate of our neighbors by keeping noise at a reasonable level, staying on our property, and driving safely and slowly. Loons Nest is the only rental property on this road and we have known our neighbors for many years.

In order to use the outdoor fire pit you will need a permit from the Wisconsin DNR, they are free and can be obtained online easily.

The wood burning fireplace in the great room is closed for the season, do not use it.

The Cabin's water is tested annually to ensure it's safety however it is not treated, you may want to bring bottled water with you.

PET RULES:

Lower Long Lake Family Cabin LLC (hereafter “we”) allow a maximum of two dogs per reservation. If you would like to bring dogs please let us know at the time of booking. There is an additional $150 non-refundable, cleaning fee, per reservation charged. In addition the following rules apply.

● Dogs must be trained to urinate and defecate outside only.
● Pets must be under the control of their owners at all times. When inside they must be supervised and on a leash when outdoors.
● Owners must bag up their pet’s waste in the yard and dispose of it in the outside garbage bin. Bags and scoops will be provided.
● Pets must be crate trained and kept in the crate if they are left alone inside the Cabin. when their owners are gone. Please bring crate(s) with you as we do not provide them.
● Owners must carry liability insurance for their main residence that includes coverage for their pets.
● Pets cannot be on furniture or beds. We do not provide bedding for dogs; please do not use the linens or towels provided on pets. We have left a small number of older towels to clean dogs paws or dry them off after being in the lake.
● You agree to indemnify, defend (in the case of third party claims) and hold harmless Lower Long Lake Family Cabin LLC and its members from and against all losses, claims, demands, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) (collectively “Claims”) to the extent such Claims arise or result from your dogs. You shall reimburse Homeowner upon receipt of an for the amount of any and all required repairs, replacements or cleaning and restoration caused by your pets.
● Quiet hours also apply to pets, excessive barking or noise is not allowed.

While our lake is wildly peaceful and entirely enjoyable, we are also only a mile from Long Lake, a legendary fishing and recreation destination. We bought this place in 2005 and have done a complete remodel over the years and we really love it. We have family in the area and are friends with a lot of people on the lake, whom we regularly tie up with on the lake and take turns hosting gatherings at each others' cabins. It is a great community. Unfortunately, we both work during the week and the place sits empty for the most part. Thus, the reason we have opened our cabin to you! We have had many friends up over the years and made a lot of great memories. We hope you are able to make some lasting memories during your stay as well.

The cabin is located 0n Lower Long Lake near the town of New Auburn, WI just 45 minutes north of Eau Claire, WI and 2 hours and 15 minutes from the Twin Cities. The lake is a good sized lake at 1100 acres. The lake is a good fishing lake and is fully recreational. The cabin has a full kitchen, main floor master with on-suite, 3 full bathrooms, 5 bedrooms, a loft and great common spaces. Two of the bedrooms upstairs have queen beds and the third room has twin bunks with a crib. The basement bedroom also has a queen bed and bunk beds. There are also two couches for any overflow sleepers.

Other than the beautiful cabin and the lake access, the near-by town of Chetek offers plenty of fun activities for families, couples, and individuals. Fish, kayak, and have a fire in the fire pit and roast hot dogs and make s'mores, sit on the dock and enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun set over the lake. Take a twenty minute drive and head into Chetek to enjoy restaurants, bars, coffee shop, boutique shopping, library, and grocery store. Kids can play in the front or back yard. As this year we may be doing some outdoor landscaping projects, please be aware.

Fish, kayak, and have a fire in the fire pit and roast hot dogs and make s'mores, sit on the dock and enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun set over the lake. Take a twenty minute drive and head into Chetek to enjoy restaurants, bars, coffee shop, boutique shopping, library, and grocery store. The property is adjacent to a small public boat landing so locals tend to use it more on a holiday weekend to avoid the main boat launch. There are two docks on the property, one is a private dock for your exclusive use and a place for your boat to park. We have three tiny homes across the road and pontoon rentals that have lake access through the property and the second dock. There may be activity on the second dock during ingress and egress while accessing the lake.

Bring the whole family to this beautiful newer 5 Bedroom home on Chain Lake. Chain ls connected to the Island Lake Chain of lakes with hundreds of miles of shoreline to explore and several bars and restaurants to boat to. This home has all the amenities.

The Island Chain of Lakes is a chain of 4 lakes -- Chain, Clear, McCann, and Island -- that sit in both Chippewa and Rusk Counties, just 40 minutes north of Eau Claire. These lakes are surrounded by many other lakes and natural land features on the Chippewa Moraine that was created by the last glacier to cover parts of Wisconsin some 12,000 years ago.

Home Configuration:
Two floors plus an exposed lower level, so it looks like three floors from the lake. All bedrooms are located on the second floor or in the exposed lower level.
There are 4-5 steps to enter the main level of the home.
4 bedrooms and a bunk room 5 total. 2.5 bathrooms total -full in basement and second floor, half on main floor.

This home includes it's own private pier for you to use during your stay as well as a kayak and paddle board. The area in front of the cabin is great for swimming with clear water and mostly sand bottom. The Island Lake chain has some great fishing for walleye, northern musky and crappies. The home also has a beautiful lake side fire pit to relax by after a long day on the water and a indoor wood fireplace to warm up during those cold winter months.

The home also has all the modern amenities including satellite television and high speed internet with an extender that reaches all the way down to the dock.

Need a break from the lake The area offers year round outdoor activities from fishing, boating, skiing, biking, and hiking in summer to hunting, snowmobile trails, ice fishing, snowshoeing, and downhill and cross country skiing in winter.

The Chippewa Moraine Ice age trail is nearby and offers visitors numerous trails both long and short. There is also an abundance of state and county lands to explore nearby,

There are 5 golf courses nearby that are open to the public and there are miles of ATV Trails to explore. The Snowmobile trail runs right on the lake out in front of the house with 1,000's of miles of trail to access without having to trailer anywhere.

And, the ice age trail is waiting for you to hike it! The living room is vast with multiple seating areas, a poker table, pool table, and a 75" smart TV. It offers a game and arcade room with billiards, foos ball, darts, Big Buck Hunter, and multiplayer arcade, and you can kick back and cheer for your favorite team in a great bar with ample seating, three tv's, and room to hook up your own tap. There is even a toddler corner with toys for the smallest guest!

The lake is fantastic and the property perfect! Larrabee Lake is a full recreational 50+ acre lake, 35 feet deep at the deepest hole - with three other docks on the entire lake… we are the only house on this lake - the fishing is great, the views are amazing, and the peaceful backyard setting encourages relaxation and silly fun at every glimpse... snuggle around a campfire; paddle out, gliding atop the blue waters (feel free to use one of our kayaks, canoe, paddle boat, or paddle-board); relax along the lakefront; watch the loons float by...
