A Post Office as a vacation rental? Yes - Absolutely. This spectacular renovated building started as a barn on a nearby island in the 1800's. The downstairs of this historic building has been the working local post office since 1931. Upstairs, insulated from any noise of a small village meeting place, is the open loft style apartment, with soaring cathedral ceilings. Designed and decorated like a historic Maine cottage. Comfortably furnished, this property is the perfect romantic getaway. A great location, with amenities close by.

The modern, cozy kitchen will support all of your cooking needs. Plenty of inside dining areas, as well as dining al fresco on the deck, right next to the kitchen. The loft and cupola are private retreats for children in your party, just like sleeping in a tree house! The views from the cupola are panoramic, with a peek of the ocean in the distance (seasonally). There's a private deck off the back offering beautiful views of our gardens, where you can eat dinner and watch the sunset. Owls Head is a secluded and scenic buoy and lobster pot dotted peninsula, one of Maine's authentic waterfront colonies. Centrally located in midcoast Maine, it is the perfect starting point for day-trip adventures. Rockland is only 5 minutes away and 15 minutes to Camden, both offer great shopping, museums, art galleries and festivals. Next door is the "world's best" general store with "award winning" breakfasts and lunches served daily. Grocery items, soda, and wine available for you to take along on your daily adventures. A five minute walk down the hill takes you to a wharf, where you can buy lobster right off the boat. Only 3 minutes down the road is our favorite (award winning) farm to table restaurant, Primo's. There are so many amazing restaurants and lobster shacks close by.

We rent our home only from Saturday to Saturday May 1st through November 1st. After November 1st we can be flexible on requested dates.

Enjoy the many summer festivals or come for the 4th of July and sit on the deck and take in the fireworks going off over the harbor! We are blessed with a peaceful and tranquil spot on the water, yet very close to wonderful places to hike, swim, bike, golf, shop, dine, farmer's markets and three major chain grocery stores so you don't need to buy your supplies at the local gas station. :-)

The modern house which was built with characteristic New England charm, is classic shingle-style architecture with much detailed interior woodwork and three stories containing approximately 5,000 square feet of living space with large oversized rooms. Windows and decks take in the spectacular sunrises, passing sail boats, lobster boats pulling up their traps just off the front deck and lighthouses. Rockland harbor to the north is home to the country's largest fleet of tall masted sailing ships and many pass by the house each day. The house sits at the end of a 750 foot long driveway. A small stream runs year round through the property through evergreens and apple trees. The house is private yet not isolated like many Maine homes that force you to take a lengthy drive to shopping, dining or just to get milk. We are also blessed to be on a city water line so water pressure and excellent water quality, which are so often issues at many homes in Maine with well water, are not an issue at our home.

You enter through an antique leaded glass and oak door and as you stand in the large entryway, to your left through double glass doors is the formal dining room with seating for eight with a side door to a pantry area and the kitchen. The library/den is on your right. Straight ahead is the kitchen with a large eating area, granite counter tops, sitting area, smart tv, gas log stove with antique oak mantle, side-by-side refrigerator, dishwasher, five burner Viking gas cooktop, electric oven, KitchenAid mixer, over 50 cookbooks, lighted cabinets with leaded glass doors, microwave, small wine refrigerator, lobster pots, etc. and everything else you need to cook a gourmet meal. The kitchen area looks through curved windows out over the lawn to the water. There is also a six foot round table from Windsor Chairmakers in Lincolnville, Maine with seating for 6. Also straight ahead on the main floor is the living room with an antique marble fireplace, writing desk, two large couches, large binoculars mounted on a tripod, smart TV and sliding doors out to the curved 40 foot wide deck with great views of the Rockland breakwater and lighthouse, Seal Rock, Penobscot Bay and seating for 12. Also on the main floor is the primary bedroom, which opens to the deck. This bedroom has a king size bed, sitting area with upholstered rockers, windows on three sides with wonderful views of the water, two walk in closets and two baths; one with a whirlpool tub, the other with a steam shower. Also on the main floor is the laundry area, the library/den with oak bookcases, desk, printer/fax and a couch to sit back on and look out over the water and enjoy a good book. There are also over 600 books at the house if you enjoy relaxing with a good book. The library cabinets contain over 40 board games, puzzles, etc.

The second floor has two oversize bedrooms and a large sitting area with smart tv, DVD player and book case. Each bedroom has a king bed and a twin bed. Each bedroom also has its own bath with marble floors and oversized marble showers. Both bedrooms and the sitting area have lighthouse and water views. The second floor also has two decks, one with ocean views and one facing west with a seating area perfect for sunbathing in the afternoon or watching the sunsets.

The lower level has a fourth bedroom with a king size four poster bed and built in bookcase with smart television and windows all with water views, a large game room with pool table, Foosball table, antique bar, mini refrigerator, futon, two arcade games, round table for playing cards or doing puzzles, bookcase, electric fireplace, stereo and plenty of windows with water views and a double glass door opening to a stone patio with a swing and plenty of seating. Also in the lower level is our lodge room (a replica of a long cabin living room), an acoustically designed home theater with two levels of seating, a 75 inch smart television and DVD player. Lastly, on this level is a full bath with a two person whirlpool tub with 14 air jets plus marble shower with a rain shower. We provide top quality towels, bedding, furnishings, kitchenware and appliances. You are renting a luxury home and we want you to feel pampered. You will be on vacation and it should feel special. This is not a "rental property" managed by an agency with multiple properties and it is not a "rental" owned by absentee owners who live a thousand miles away and is neglected with numerous maintenance issues. We offer this home every summer to families who want to experience a waterfront residence and have a memorable get together of family and friends. We offer hospitality. At Schooners Landing you can enjoy walking along the rocky shore looking for seaglass or launching your kayak. Enjoy a walk through the grounds or play Frisbee golf on our 9 hole (6 goal) Frisbee golf course. New Englander home in nice neighborhood 200 feet from sandy beach. Although in Owl's Head it is less than a 20 minute walk to the heart of Rockland Main Street's many art galleries, shops and cafes. Newly renovated including new equipped kitchen, upstairs bathroom and downstairs bathroom. Two bedrooms upstairs, one queen bed and 2 twin beds. Dining room and living room. Cable television and wi-fi internet provided in living and master bedroom. Two porches. Front porch has some water views. Full size washer and dryer in basement. Air conditioners located in living room master bedroom and twin bedroom. Towels and bedding included.

The house was clean, in a great location, and felt recently updated; our check-in was a breeze; and our host was super responsive if we had any questions. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and we appreciated the in-room A/C units for the couple of warmer, humid evenings (but mostly just enjoyed the ocean breeze with windows open). The kitchen is well equipped and we ate most of our breakfasts and dinners on the small back patio. But the best part is truly the location. The neighborhood is quiet, but just a short drive (or walk, if you prefer) from downtown Rockland. The small beach at the end of the street is also a great bonus option for the kids, who spent plenty of time finding shells and sea glass. We felt pretty centrally located between the hiking in Camden Hills State Park and some of the beaches around Owl's Head and points south (Drift Inn and Birch Point SP were our favorites). Make time for the transportation museum if you've got young kids. We'd definitely stay again!"

The cottage itself has a lovely downstairs open floor plan space with al the modern home amenities of cable, big screen TV, appliances, sectional couch and large dining room table. Lovely spot, lovely host and nice manager who was very helpful."

Spacious three bedroom, three bathroom vacation home located in a quiet neighborhood with beautiful views of the ocean. The home offers an open concept living space with two bedrooms on the main floor. Also, a full master bathroom and full hall bathroom are located on the main level. On the lower level, you'll find a third bedroom and a sitting area where you can enjoy a good book if you choose. In addition to the sitting area there is a game room featuring a ping pong table, wall mounted arcade game including Pac Man and a few other video games. A small multigame set (pool / air hockey table) and several board games are also available for use.

We offer off-street parking between our two driveways that will accommodate three vehicles.

This cozy, pine paneled house provides a screened porch with meadow and cove views for dining and relaxing. This is an "unplugged property" which does not have cable/internet connection- a place to enjoy the surround of nature, each other's company and your own lobster dinners! Privately set behind pine woods, yet not remote, Point View Lane is essentially our driveway off a short, residential road that ends at a quiet, broad sand beach in the quiet fishing village of Owls Head, ME. There are two bedrooms with queen beds, one on 1st floor and one on 2nd with a half bath, and a third bedroom on 2nd floor with two twin beds and its own sink. Full bath 1st floor with washer/dryer, kitchen with dishwasher. (total baths, 1 1/2)

Two well-behaved and tended dogs may be welcome (no cats); no indoor smoking, please. Wi-fi hot spots are available nearby at the airport terminal and at various locations in the area.

I was a little worried when we arrived and there was no air conditioning but the weather in Maine in August is still not warm enough to warrant central AC. The fans in the house and in the windows cooled the cottage off with zero issues. Location was close enough to Rockland/Camden area to drive easily. The lighthouse was a mile out and back which made for a great daily walk. We would book again."

This quintessential Maine cottage has been in the family for generations. It is located on the peninsula off Hendrickson Point offering semi private accommodations and wonderful views, but also located very close to restaurants, the General Store, Owls Head Lighthouse and Transportation Museum and several sandy beaches, if you are looking to explore.

The wrap around deck and screened-in porch offer wonderful views of Mussel Ridge channel and Monroe, Sheep Island and Vinalhaven in the distance. Both Sheep and Monroe are preserved by the Maine Coast Heritage Trust and great opportunities to explore untouched islands. Monroe has walking pathsto explore if you kayak over to it. However, you can enjoy perfect a cup of coffee, cocktails or a lobster feast at night never leaving the deck and screened porch as well.

Once inside the cottage, there is a large living room with fireplace to your left and to the right is another sitting area with picture window to enjoy the view. There is a bedroom with a queen and TV, a half bath inside the laundry room and then the kitchen on the other side of the house.

Up the stairs, you will find a full shared bathroom that has a soaking tub and separate stall shower. There are three bedrooms: A full bedroom, one with two twins and then a large master king bedroom with an oceanview.

The bunk house is behind the house and away from the water located on the back side of the garage. It is a fun place where kids could play games, read a book and feel like they have their own space while the adults relax on the covered porch.

Owls Head is a popular destination for Maine visitors and seasonal residents. With many beaches to choose from, the proximity to Rockland and Thomaston, and gorgeous views from almost any point on the peninsula, Owls Head remains a desirable location for our guests.

BEACH CLASSIFICATION: We have categorized this property as having or being near a sandy beach. More specifically for this property - it is a 1 mile walk to publicly accessible Crescent Beach. Holiday Beach is a sandy beach to the left looking at the water and you could get to that at anytime along the rocky shore or by way of a sandy patch at a lower tide. Atlow tide a sandy area has been a popular location to find sand dollars, catch baby shrimp, hermit crabs.Two other great area beaches are nearby. The closest is Crockett's Beach, but also Birch Point Beach State Park is within a 5 minute drive of the property. There is only this sandy patch at low tide directly in front of the property, but the nearby beaches are great for kids and that is why we have classified it as being on or in this case - "near" sandy beaches.

Owls Head is a popular destination for Maine visitors and seasonal residents. With many beaches to choose from, the proximity to Rockland and Thomaston, and gorgeous views from almost any point on the peninsula, Owls Head remains a desirable location for our guests. This property is a great addition to our other properties, for an individual, or couple, looking to be in close proximity to the rest of their group, for more space, orwith greater privacy.

This is a one bedroom property that can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults. The owner will allow an additional child if they are in a pack 'n' play or crib. Please note there is only one bedroom and one bed.

More specifically for this property - there is a pea-sized / pebbly beach about 200 feet wide to the left of the cottage. Not necessarily a "swimming beach" - this is a good beach for sitting and relaxingin folding chairs or for launching kayaks. There is not an actual fine sandy beach at this property, but the beach itself is better than most in the area and that is why we have classified it as being "on" a sandy beach. The space
Secluded and rural yet less than a mile from The Art and Culinary center of the midcoast. The city of Rockland has world class museums, shopping and culinary delights, coffee roaster and all the urban things you want, yet in a small town spirit. it is quiet, private and a sample of the peace of rural living. Note: This is a classic Maine working property. Probably not Martha Stewart worthy.

The entire farm, except the main farm house. Look around! This is a working property with all the characteristics of a Maine farm. Tractors, cars, motorbikes, our wood burning ovens that we use for catering and well, stuff. I suggest, as i would for any public review, disregard the top and bottom 10%. That should give you a clearer view of the Cabin and surrounds.

Other things to note
The cabin is well appointed. The toilet is a modern outhouse, a porta poty that is well maintained, super clean also heated and lighted, the shower, as pictured is outdoors with as much hot H2o as you may need! A new Gas range & every pot or pan you will need are provided. Enjoy the secluded southern facing deck with a gas fire pit. An umbrella is provided for rain & sun. AC for the heat & a gas fire "woodstove" for those chilly days.
Headacre is a working property, complete with tractors, implements, old cars, motorbikes and a ton of character.
Roam around the barns & property. some stuff is for sale. just ask!

This an original 1973 Vintage Airstream. It is NOT a hotel room or glamping. Original Airstream RV toilet & shower, fold out full size beds ( be friendly!) Updated with on demand hot H2O, heat pump AC. Comes with the original Airstream manual so you know how to fold the beds out and the details of gracious 1970's Riveted living.
There is nary a kitchen item you will not find so cooking is a breeze. The Farm is private and soothing. Rosie sits at the end of our gardens, walking thru is encouraged with permission of Farmer Ann.

You can roam all the building except the main house. Walk the 17+ acres that border a nature preserve.

Small 2 bedroom house in a quiet neighborhood. Gorgeous area to walks to the shoreline yet 4 miles to the happening town of Rockland with great eateries, galleries and shops.
Nearby Camden has a small ski area and there are super nice cross country skiing areas as well.

The space
Fully equipped kitchen, nice living area,. 1 bedroom has a queen bed and the other is a full. There is a daybed with a trundle underneath for extra sleeping space. The bathroom is small with a tub and shower wand.
As the house is 1800's the steps going to the bedrooms are rather steep.

The entire house is accessible but there is a porch/side room that owner needs access to for laundry. There is a small apartment attached to the house that is also rented but the tenant has a private entrance.

Cottage by the Ocean, perfect for the solo traveler, is close to museums, great views, hiking and dining. The guest room, dubbed the Tree Top, has a skylight and corner windows tree view. While the kitchen does not lend itself to food preparation, there is in-room coffee, tea, snacks, and mini fridge (see pic). The room is perfect for a short stay or extended stay while participating in one of the area workshops/educational programs. The skylighted shared bath looks out onto the ocean.

The space
Dubbed the "Tree Top" room because it corner windows look out on a wooded scene and the sky light always provides a glimpse of the sky. The cozy Ikea-styled room is quiet and comfortable for a short stay in the area. The desk area is well lit and includes easy access electric outlets and a charging station. Plan to rise early to catch the sunrise from the deck!

Please note that my two Siberian cats, Puppie and Pistol, help with the hosting.

The room includes a coffee maker, tea pot, a selection of snack foods, and a mini fridge just big enough for soda cans, yogurt, fresh fruit. The kitchen is not available for meal preparation.

Guests are welcome to one of the rocking chairs on the deck.

During your stay
Most of my guests are solo independent travelers usually with a full agenda during their stay.

I am always available to provide tips for things to do and places to eat. While I am not a hovering host, my guests typically find their stay very welcoming.

Vintage Maine farmhouse on five acres with sprawling lawns. This two level suite includes a private deck, downstairs living room with coffee bar and upstairs bedroom with en suite bath.

The space
The bedroom has a double bed, a writing desk, two cozy reading chairs, skylights and an en suite bath with shower. The downstairs living-room has a couch, table for two, and the coffee bar includes a sink, small refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. You can also sit outside on a sunny private deck for dining or morning coffee.
A second connecting bedroom with twin beds for an another couple is available in the main house and can be added upon request with an additional fee of $25 per person. This room can be locked from the main house for privacy and then accessed only through the suite.

The lawns offer an excellent opportunity to practice your golf swing with a glimpse of the bay and sailboats, it's also a lovely spot to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Our location is close to Rockland, and within easy day trips to Rockport, Camden and Belfast up Route 1.

This is a non-smoking property. Plenty of parking for cars and room to park a motorcycle or bike in our barn overnight if needed.

Get away from it all when you stay at our sweet little off grid cabin in the woods. A place where sleep and peace meet!
Surrounded by 15 acres of woods and fields and within walking distance to Birch Point State Park, you'll have a perfect little getaway - all while being only a few minutes away from Rockland.

The space
The cabin has a comfortable queen size bed, 2 twin beds in the loft accessed by a ladder. There is a Unique propane 4 burner cook stove and oven, solar generator to turn on lights and charge cell phones, a 7 gallon water jug connected to the faucet safe (BPA free) for drinking and washing, and a Morso stove if its cold. We will provide bio bricks for heat during the winter months.
There is also an on-demand hot water outdoor shower that uses a rain catchment system. A 2 person wood fired hot tub is available to be used too, perfect for a good night soak. Please don’t forget your towels! The outhouse is a short walk from the cabin and is called a throne room as you have to climb some steps to get to it. The outdoor fire pit is right out back of the cabin, perfect for making s'mores- bring your own firewood or use any wood that can be found on the ground or near the fire pit. Please don't cut down any trees or limbs from a tree. There is a charcoal grill with a small container of charcoal next to the cabin if you like to grill out and clothesline to hang out your wet towels and bathing suits.

LINENS - Please bring your own bedding including pillows/queen and twin size sheets/blankets or sleeping bags. We are spraying down all surfaces in the cabins with a cleaning solution and taking the necessary precautions to disinfect everything. We will have bedding available if you cannot bring your own. Also, bring your own towels for bathing.

Linen fee - $35 (Please allow 24 hours notice of needing these items)

We provide basic cookware, a tea pot, coffee pour over, and a couple 7 gallon jugs of water for you to drink and wash dishes in. One of the water jugs will be hooked up to our water pump that is run by our solar setup. With no plumbing or well we have come up with an easy solution to provide you with water. Just turn on the faucet and the water will be pumped up from the jug! It then empties into our gray water tank under the sink. Very easy and very off grid! If you want more water to be hooked up, we'll provide instructions or give us a shout and we'll come do it for you. The fun of glamping!

We love dogs and know how hard it is to find a place that allows them to come on vacation with you! Potty trained, well behaved, dogs of any size are welcome! Please remember though that this is in the Maine woods and wildlife abound. Dogs cannot be left in the cabin unattended.

Guest access
This cabin is located on a 15 acres of private land. We are surrounded by woods but close to the ocean. Birch Point State Park is right down the road, perfect walking distance. Our cabin is accessed by a keycode. We will have a very thorough welcome and guide book to help you enjoy your stay at an off grid space. We don't live very far away so we can either help you get settled or give you space.

There are plenty of hiking trails nearby, lot's of beaches (both fresh and ocean), islands to visit, kayaking and boating, skiing during the winter months, ice skating, museums and art galleries to stroll through and fantastic restaurants to sit and enjoy a meal. Brochures and recommendations will be included in our guide book or basket.

We are also very close to the Knox County Regional Airport so there will occasionally be a general aviation plane flying over. Most of them are small, local planes heading out to the islands but they fly during the day.

Enjoy the evening outside at the fire pit, grates are available for cooking over the fire! Keep the bug spray handy, it is Maine, we have some mosquitos. Be diligent in checking for ticks too.

Other things to note
VERY IMPORTANT TO READ BEFORE YOU BOOK:

Our cabin is located on a dirt road in a rural area. You will also have to walk up marked path to rental. Pending on the time that you arrive, it may be dark even with our solar lights that mark the path, so plan accordingly. It also is a short little hike to the cabin about 200 feet which helps you feel like you really can escape from it all. Before booking please take into consideration that this really is a quiet off grid space on a dirt road, so if you're apprehensive this might not be the cabin for you. That said, I really think it's an adventure that you won't regret taking!

During the winter months, the cabin will be dry but the ceiling and floor are the only parts insulated. There is however a Morso woodstove that should keep the place reasonably warm.

Shower - We provide a solar shower bag that can be heated in the sun. Use it as you see fit weather and season dependent.

Bathroom - The bathroom is an outhouse! It's clean and fun and easily accessed right down a path from the cabin. There is a solar light and a nightlight for the occasional runs to the WC in the middle of the night.

The cabin is off grid and the solar system collects sun for electricity. This charges our battery bank that runs our mini fridge, water pump (that way the 7 gallon water jug can be pumped to the faucet), lights and our little usb/outlet box. Please only cell phones and small electronics can be plugged into the white charge box. No hair dryers. Although this situation is rare, if there is no sun...then there may be no electricity for the lights, fridge and water pump. Bring along lanterns and flashlights in case this happens and plan on charging your phone in your car if needed.

We do not have wifi. Most guests say they can get cell phone service from the cabin, but it depends on who your service provider is.

Bring your own towels, queen and twin size sheets/blankets/sleeping bags/pillow cases. All the beds and pillows will have clean protective coverings when you arrive. If you are unable to bring these items, we can provide linens, a comforter, an extra blanket and 2 towels for an additional fee. Everything will come clean and the bed made.

All dogs of any type are welcome! Remember its on a 15 acre spread of land surrounded by 30-40 acres of private land. There are wildlife around such as deer, coyotes, foxes, and porcupines. Please help us keep this airbnb dog friendly by cleaning up after your pet!

There is a flat-screen TV in the sitting area as well, but please note this amenity is provided primarily for DVD playing or streaming from one's laptop (we do not have cable or an over-air broadcast antenna). We provide a long-length HDMI cord for your use, and a Chromecast. Please be sure to bring any necessary adapters if your laptop does not have an HDMI port.

The main living space in the Guesthouse is on the second floor. It has been entirely refurnished with an eye for comfort and Maine coastal style. The queen size bed has luxury linens, a hotel grade mattress and a Maine-made quilt! There are two sitting areas, a kitchen with all the essentials (including full size appliances, coffee maker, cookware, microwave, etc), and a bathroom with shower, shampoo, soap, blowdryer, iron, and plush towels. Outside, there is a private yard with outdoor furniture for late day lounging. A grill can be made available for cookouts upon request. Paper products and other household necessities that you might need will be made available to get you started with you stay.

Free guest Wi-fi is available. While there is not cable service at the Guesthouse, you will have no trouble streaming from your personal devices. You are welcome to connect, stream or cast your favorite internet entertainment to the TV monitor provided. We also have a small library of DVD movies available. We are able to provide beach chairs, drink cooler and towels for use during your stay. Just ask the hosts!

The Guesthouse is part of our larger property, and the caretakers live on-site in the main house. They are available at any point during your stay to provide assistance, guidance and suggestions on the best sunset lobster dinner on the MidCoast!

The entire Guesthouse is for the exclusive use of the guests with the exception of the garage space which is accessed by the hosts. There is a rear yard with seating that is also for guest use. Parking is adjacent to the Guesthouse.

Well behaved dogs are welcome at our Guesthouse. We ask that owners respect the gardens and clean up after their pet. Dogs are not allowed on furniture, but we would be happy to provide your pup with a bed. Please give us a heads up if you are bringing your furry family member so we can provide a special treat!

We are unable to accommodate cats. Our hostess is highly allergic!

Due to our rural location, we cannot accommodate more than three guests during a stay. A stressed septic system leads to other stresses! Thank you for understanding and limiting your reservation to three guests over the age of 12 yrs.

Located at the end of a private road you will find the area very peaceful with beautiful ocean view sunrises and sunsets and lots of wildlife sightings.
This cozy 1000 square foot apartment has been recently renovated for a clean coastal vibe. The house was originally hand built in 2000 by the owner. You will notice the craftsmanship detail, built ins, hand made furniture and unique nautical style throughout the apartment.
The kitchen is fully stocked and equipped with stove, full fridge and a new microwave and dishwasher. The living space provides a 50 inch smart TV and queen pull out sofa. Enjoy the vast ocean views from the large living room picture windows. Watch the boats cruising through Penobscot Channel or a local lobsterman hauling their traps. The bedroom offers a queen bed and plenty of closet/storage space. There is a large jacuzzi tub and separate hand tiled shower in the bathroom.
Spacious deck off the kitchen/living area provides an outdoor dining area and grill. Enjoy dinner or drinks taking in the salty ocean air and views.
At the base of the entry stairs is a separate patio space with propane fire pit shared amongst both living spaces.
Located behind the apartment is an adorable playhouse with slide, saucer swings and a rock climbing wall that is shared amongst the neighborhood. Please play at your own risk.

The space
We use unscented organic cleaners in our space. If you love the ocean this is for you...inside and out. There is a large dog and child friendly back yard for running and playing. A swing set and slide and lots of space to explore nature. A magical path to the private beach with sea glass, shells and crab hunting. A large porch swing to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. There are two bedrooms so sleeps 4 comfortably, but it is a great home for entertaining if you have friends/relatives in the area. Could easily sleep a few kids in the play area on the padded floor as well. The dining area seats 9-10 comfy and the kitchen has a sit in eating area. It is all open floor plan.

The second and third floor are included in this rental. The first floor is a year round apartment occupied by an awesome tenant (local) who may or may not be around during your stay. The house next door is also owned by us and is a duplex with year round tenants as well. They are all kind and courteous professional people.

This is a 2 acre property with a private beach at the edge of our back yard. On the side of the property is a fresh water creek that runs into the ocean. At low tide you can walk out 200ft into the ocean where you can see Rockland Harbor and the Breakwater Lighthouse. The house has an open floor plan with high ceilings and a cat walk that leads to an outdoor balcony. The house is stunning, clean and bright.

Beautiful serene setting and warm comfortable stylish home just minutes from beaches, cool towns, nationally acclaimed restaurants and Farnsworth Art Museum. We have received all 5 star reviews since our children flew the nest!! (and I could keep up with things:). The reviews include saying what a bargain our price is for the comfort and expansive property you will have. It is our FT home and we just rent occasionally when we are upta camp or away.

Beautiful cottage on our private beach surrounded on three sides by water. Chef's kitchen. Kayaking and swimming in front of the house. (We have two kayaks for your use, no need to rent.) Separate art studio and another separate building is a small office. Incredible views and sunsets. Deck with lounge sofa and dining. Unique location, Penobscot Bay at it's finest. We even have a private lighthouse next door!

The space
Bedroom has a king size bed. Loft with pull down stairs has a very comfortable large single bed but it does require care in climbing the stairs. It is possible to put a bed or blow up mattress in art studio for children or 2 others but please contact about this so we can make that arrangement. (There is no bathroom in the studio and this would require using bathroom in house.) LISTING IS FOR 3 PEOPLE but 4 IS POSSIBLE IF SLEEPING IN STUDIO

The space
This is a lovely inviting Maine farmhouse, enlarged and embellished throughout the decades. A series of cozy and comfortable rooms opening into one another, most with views of the harbor, bay and ocean. With 3 updated, modern bathrooms and double glazed windows as well as new appliances this home is charming and comfortable! Please note: the 2 upstairs bedrooms are accessed by a historic steep ships ladder style staircase. The house was reportedly used for smuggling in whiskey from Canada, during the 1930s.

Guests have access to the full house, all 4 bedrooms, all 3 modern bathrooms, living room, kitchen, sunroom, office, den, deck, front yard, back yard (1 acre) and parking for 6 vehicles (no access to the unfinished basement or garage).

The space
The house features an open concept eat-in kitchen, dining area and living room with access to the deck all on the first floor. The first floor also has a master bedroom with queen size bed and full bathroom. An additional bedroom and office area are also on the first floor.

Downstairs has one bedroom with a queen size bed, large bathroom/laundry room and features a large open space utilized as a game room. The game room area includes a smart TV, full size ping-pong table, small game table that converts to a few different games and a wall mount Pac-Man game which also has a few other game options. There is a walk-out to backyard with grill and fire pit area.

Guest access
Guests have full access to the entire house, including the vegetable gardens and 50' ROW beach. Please Note: Granite steps to the shoreline have recently been dislodged by winter storms and access to the water is rocky and uneven. Beaches outside of ROW are privately owned. Check-in will be arranged in advance of your stay.

Other things to note
We have recently installed a full sized Murphy bed in the WFH office. Please let us know if you are interested in adding this additional sleep area to your rental to accommodate 12 people in total.

Please feel free to use the in season produce if you plan to cook at home.

Occupying a rare position on the shore unobstructed by trees that are plentiful elsewhere, this hard-to-find property boasts panoramic views of the open ocean, Muscle Ridge Channel and the islands that dot the coast all the way into the distance. From around the point to the left you can see all sorts of boats traveling up and down the coast from kayaks to schooners and then watch them recede into the far distance.

Treasure View Beach House is a classic and comfortable year-round Maine house with breathtaking views from sunrise to sunset. There is plenty of comfortable seating in the living room where wrap windows to the south, east and west bring in the drama of the oceanfront setting. It's amazing how the colors and the light are forever changing here. The intensity of the sunsets are indescribable. Use the binoculars or the telescope to watch the lobster boats, the tall ships, the eagles and ospreys and the seals.

At night, the stars are bright because of very little light pollution. Each bedroom has water views, comfortable beds and cotton linens. The proximity to the water brings the soft and soothing sound of gentle waves and cooling breezes even on the hottest days of summer.

The fully equipped and well-lit kitchen and the dining room with breakfast bar accommodate cooking and gathering while being convenient to the deck for grilling and outdoor dining.

For stay at home entertainment, the house is equipped with a cable tv and Wi-FI, plus lots of games, puzzles and books. Outdoors you can play croquet or badminton on the lawn that extends to just 10' from the water's edge.

An abundance of outdoor seating is provided for friends and family to sit and relax and take in the view. In the water close by is a boulder, called a glacial erratic, that re-appears sitting on the sand when the tide goes out, dividing an arc of long low waves. The views of rocky Treasure Island is a gem, with its stand of spruces and an ancient lobsterman’s shack. This is the evocative shorescape view which can be recognized in numerous 19th century paintings of the Maine coast. All photos in this listing were taken from our house or from the lawns.
