We felt very secluded/private with no one around us except for the animals. Beds were very comfortable and the front porch is very big. Cons: We came in late at night and had trouble finding the place in the dark because the GPS for the address did not work right. The after hours call service did not answer but we eventually found the place using the directions link on the email. No dishwasher. In 3 nights, there were 3 mice caught in traps. I couldn't sleep one night because the mouse did not die and kept clanging the trap against the walls. One of the bathrooms has a tub with a shower head that you hold with your hand so all 4 of us used one shower stall for convenience."

The apartment is dark and worn out in general. The kitchen is listed as "well equipped" but in reality it had a tiny sink, a hot plate, a bar sized fridge, and an air fryer. It is not actually a kitchen, more of a wet bar. The appliances are usable but not great and in old condition. The beds were clean but the extra blankets in the unit weren't, they were crumpled in a closet. There was only one pillow per person and they were flat, even my kids were asking for another pillow and they usually don't care at all. The hot tub takes two people to open/close, the cover was broken. I know a lot of short term rentals do this but, this place also leaves a list of things you need to clean before check out which is a personal pet peeve. This place was pricey and not even close to worth the money. "

Our modern cabin is located 1/2 mile from the Rocky Mountain NP. Stunning views of Longs Peak, and lots of wildlife. We have Elk and Deer right in our yard.
We also have snowshoes for rent. If there is enough snow in the Winter you can snowshoe from your room right into the National Park. Or you can bike to town ( 1 1/2 miles) year round. There are lots of hiking trails within very short distance from our house.

The space
You are renting a guestroom and bathroom. You are not renting the whole house. The guestroom has a private entry, with an en-suite bathroom. The bathroom has a shower and a bath tub. It also has a build-in Bluetooth speaker fan.
There are 2 USB outlets next to both sides of the queen bed.
Bedroom has a ceiling fan.
Both the bathroom and bedroom have radiant floor heating for your comfort. Control is on the wall. The bedroom also has a 3 speed ceiling fan.

This unit is part of a side-by-side duplex with a garage in the middle. Guests do not share living space walls with the folks who live on the other side (my little family and me).

The entrance of the unit has a spacious, unheated mud room for storing your skis, climbing gear, fishing rods, single bike, etc. Estes Park summers tend to be mild, but please note like many spaces in Estes Park, this unit does not have air conditioning. Ceiling fans are located in the living room and bedroom, and two other fans are provided.

The open living room includes a 58-inch TV to use with your subscription services and a dedicated workspace. High-speed internet through Trailblazer included.

The large bedroom holds a queen and twin bed. Happy to switch the dedicated work space with the twin bed prior to your arrival or during your stay if you’d like separate rooms. Both the living room and bedroom have blackout curtains to facilitate uninterrupted rest. Pack and play and booster seat high chair available in this kid-friendly unit. Sorry, no pets.

Conveniences of town are minutes away, including the Lake Estes loop, a 5k paved path with town-provided snow removal for winter jogs and bike rides, and a perfect spot for fishing or birding.

Our guest suite is located behind the garage at a distance from the main house (storage space, garage, and another storage space between the two properties.) Nearby, you can walk to a couple fantastic neighborhood breweries, delicious Mexican food, or head down to Lake Estes for a peaceful sunrise or sunset stroll.

The home is equipped with fast Wifi and a Ruku TV. Roku TV is on the Wifi (bring your own streaming logins or view complimentary channels).

Comfy queen bed, two matching nightstands with drawers, table lamps and bedside outlets. Closet, drawers and luggage countertop. Space for a pack-n-play if needed for a young child.

BATHROOM:
Shower, sink, mirrors, toilet. Clean towels, shampoo, conditioner included!

KITCHENETTE:
Save time and money by cooking your own meals - dorm refrigerator, induction stovetop, sink, microwave, and electric grill. Dishes, glasses, pots and pans, cooking utensils for making your favorite (simple) meals.

DINING:
Enjoy your meals at the 2 seat dining table or the outdoor picnic table.

LIVING AREA:
Love seat, lounge chair, coffee table, lamps, Roku TV. Games and puzzles in nearby drawer.

PARKING:
One reserved space on right side of driveway for guests...currently with a grass mat in place as our neighborhood went through recent street construction.

BACKYARD:
Enjoy small deck, lounge chairs, hammock, and picnic table in the private backyard...and corn hole! Many birds make their homes in our yard and migrate throughout the year. You'll be among rabbits, chipmunks, and butterflies (in the summer months). Mule deer and elk are frequent visitors, sometimes munching on the grass and my flowers! or even napping on the property! There are black bear and bobcats in the area though seldom seen.

COOLING:
No A/C. Our nights are cool even during the warmest days. All sleeping areas are equipped with ceiling fans and cool down quickly with open windows, the setting sun, and our fresh mountain breeze. A/C is not the norm and seldom needed as Estes Park is a mild mountain climate and during the summer we are generally 10-20 degrees cooler than the nearby lower elevations of Colorado. Temps are usually in the 50s at night during the summer months.

CLEANING:
We paying a living wage to our cleaners (and actually pay more than the cost you see on your reservation). Please care for our property as you would want your own to be cared for. We do not ask our guests to strip beds or start any laundry. We only ask that you wash up any dishes.

HOUSE RULES:
- No smoking or vaping inside and no wood fire pits. There is a propane fire pit for your enjoyment. Please turn off fire pit and propane tank beneath when not in use. Outdoor, wood burning fires are illegal at Estes Park STRs.
- No parties. Only celebrations with your traveling companions who are on the reservation count. :) (please no glitter or confetti!)
- Due to the time required for cleaning between stays, we do not allow early check-ins or late checkouts. Check in is 3pm or later; check out is 11am or earlier. Thank you for understanding!

Come enjoy the mountains in a beautifully restored 1947 Cabin. Fully remodeled kitchen in 2022. The Escape will be waiting for you after a full day of adventures in Estes Park and RMNP. You’ll LOVE the Original stone fireplace from 1947, sleeping in the comfy King Bed, and the privacy of this cabin which is close to everything but you’ll feel miles away.  Cable TV. Wi-Fi. The large fenced in yard is perfect if you like to travel with your fur baby. (Restrictions apply and pet fee of $100.) Fire pit. Picnic table. Privacy! If you are not bringing a pet, please let us know and we can refund the pet fee of $100. Please do not keep pets alone at property.
