Within 5 minutes from the Farmhouse Cafe, 15 minutes to Nashville and the largest state park in Indiana, Ellison Ridge is a vacation home that you cannot miss. Although not far from Nashville, you are on a gorgeous piece of property in Brown County, Indiana. The cabin is high on a private hill and totally remodeled and refurbished. This is a place for your family and you to make plenty of memories. Located on 5.3 acres.

There is a patio on the front of the vacation cabin and just a couple of steps in to the home. There are no other steps in this home. See that large hot tub calling you after you pick a bedroom and unpack and began to relax in the Brown County air.

As you enter into the house to a 3 seasons room, there is a queen bedroom to your left, a full bath with shower only and a Smart TV. Also a bunk bedroom with full size mattresses on each, a private bathroom and a smart TV.

To the right is cozy living room with an open concept to the kitchen and the dining area. There is a sun porch with all windows. At the end is the master bedroom with a queen bed, a full bath and a smart TV. You can walk out on the side deck from the master bedroom.

If you want to be close by all that Nashville has to offer, you could not make a better choice than Ellison Ridge! This is a wonderful retreat while exploring all of the village’s 250-plus shops and craft galleries that are renowned throughout the Midwest. - "The house was nice, plenty of space for our family. The check in process was a little complicated. The drive at night was a little challenging as it's located about 12 miles from Nashville in the woods. The location was secluded and quiet. The house was clean with the exception of the dog hair on the lower bunk bedspread and a smell of cigarette smoke in the third bedroom. Not much was included in the stay, no soap in the bathrooms/showers, and no firewood for the firepit (these items have always been provided when booking through VRBO). For checkout, we had to wash the dishes and put them away, strip the beds lock the house and return the key to the rental office. While i appreciate the need to take care of your property while we are there, we pay a cleaning fee in the cost of the house. There was a threat of charging our credit card if we didn't follow the departure rules to the letter. We enjoyed the area, touring Nashville and all it had to offer was great. We might return, we will definitely look for a different property management agency. "

Nestled in the woods just 9 minutes North East of Nashville and 7 minutes from Brown County State Park, you will find Mountaintop Treehouse. Close to shopping and adventure, yet you will feel very secluded in this authentic Treehouse built by the Owner. His labor of love took 5+ years to build. You can see 5 miles from the front deck and enjoy the sunken hot tub with the view!

Upon arrival, you will notice a restful feeling as you drink in nature’s bounty, nestled amongst the tree tops as you climbs the stairs to enter the front door. Entering the first floor, you will find a cozy living room with an electric fireplace. Snuggle up by the fire and watch a DVD movie on the 55" smart TV or just admire the wood interior around you.

What a great place to gather to visit with your loved ones. Notice the birds in the nearby trees, who don’t even realize you are right there.

The Space:
Pulling onto the property, you will drive down a long forested driveway, and once parked you will see and hear the bubbling fountain at the top of the stairs down to the cabin. The large front porch has a welcoming porch swing and fans. Enter the cabin and view a two story family room with a stone fireplace with a wood mantel crafted from an old local barn. The family room is situated with leather couches and a large TV. Free WiFi is available for streaming your favorite digital platforms. The kitchen is loaded with tools for all your cooking needs. The dining room has a beautiful large table for family to gather around for meals or game nights.

Enjoy the in-deck hot tub and large built in fire pit overlooking the woods. Curl up in the hammock on the lower deck and enjoy a nap or have fun with yard games with the entire family. If the weather sends you indoors, escape to the entirely glassed atrium room at the back of the cabin and enjoy nature inside. The basement is entertainment central with a full size pool table, ping pong table, mini foosball table, and mini air hockey table. We grilled, drank beer, played cards, utilized the pool table, ping pong, hung out on the several decks that are off the back of the house, and had a great time. With that being said as part of the services offered, one of them is grocery drop off. I recommend bringing your own or using this service. The area that the cabin is located in is hard to navigate due to the winding roads and dense greenery. We needed our gps the whole weekend, it is hard to find your way around if your not familiar with the area. Everything seemed to be 20 min away or more. But that is what we were looking for, and we got exactly that! Thank you for letting us stay, we had a great time!!"

Salt Creek Farmhouse is a classic restored, 1920's farmhouse on 56 acres with all the modern conveniences! Drive 10 minutes to downtown Nashville, hike our trail, grill out or relax on the wrap-around porch, or by the fire pit. Sleeps six people in; two bedrooms each with a queen sized bed and the full sized sleeper couch in the living room. Towels, wash cloths, sheets, pillows, blankets, coffee, ice etc. are all provided. Dogs/cats and extra $ 60 each (3 days), $ 80 each (4-7 days), $ 100 each (8 - 14 days), and must be approved by the management in advance. Pets must be kept off furniture and beds.

We have fast, reliable Fiber-Optic WiFi and there's a 40" TCL smart TV and a DVD player in the living room. On the smart TV, you can stream Netflix, Disney, Hulu, Prime etc. via your account, or watch Youtube and other streaming services for free. The TCL smart TV also offers dozens of channels for free.
There's also a smaller flat screen TV in one of the bedrooms for use with DVDs.

There is a two person Jacuzzi in the master bath, there is not a hot tub. Mattresses have been updated in 2023.

The property includes 56 acres, most of which is wooded. There are hiking trails starting less than 100 yards from the house that we maintain. There's a fishing hole along the trail, where guests have caught big Bass and huge Catfish, as well as; Blue Gill, Crappie, Gar and other fish. We have found; Morels, Lions Mane and Turkey Tail mushrooms in our woods. There's a porch swing on the wrap around porch, cooled by a ceiling fan and a horse-shoe pit in the back yard.
Hunting is not allowed. Please keep pets off the furniture and beds and pick up after your dog, there’s a pooper-scooper and a shovel next to the fire pit for that.

There is a House phone you can use to make calls anywhere in the US or Canada. Cell phone coverage is spotty but if you go to settings on your phone you can probably select ‘Wi-Fi calling’, like we do, which syncs your phone to the Wi-Fi.

Rock Ridge Log Cabin
As you pull down the long lane, you will see Rock Ridge Log Cabin sitting atop a ridge overlooking a valley. In this secluded setting with no close neighbors, you can appreciate the beauty of Brown County through all four seasons. Ascend the steps to the expansive covered porch with porch swing, bistro-style table and chairs. It's the perfect place for enjoying early morning coffee or unwinding with a glass of wine at the end of the day. Enter the front door into the "open concept" main area which allows a family or group to socialize together. The kitchen is new and fully equipped with an island for food prep and beautiful wood table where you can enjoy family meals or game time. Keurig and drip coffee makers.

The living room space has a recliner, two couches, and a rocking chair where you can watch a 55" ROKU Smart TV and enjoy the warmth of the gas fireplace.

The main floor bedroom is furnished with a queen bed and twin trundle beds with an adjacent bathroom. Floor to ceiling windows bathe the room in light, and the panoramic view of treetops on the ridge is amazing as you step out of the bedroom onto a balcony overlooking the woods.

The upstairs bedroom with exposed rafters and rustic vaulted ceiling has a queen bed and love seat, and is perfect for relaxing and catching up on your reading. There is a full bathroom adjoining the upstairs bedroom. Both bathrooms are newly renovated with full tub/showers. Don't bother packing it, a hairdryer is available.

Downstairs you'll find a large deck out the back door which includes a hot tub , large table and chairs for outdoor gathering, a grill for BBQ meals, and a fire pit for enjoying the outdoor beauty of all four seasons in Brown County. You are 15 minutes from Nashville, 10 minutes from Bean Blossom, a few minutes from Brown County State Park, and around the corner from Gatesville. This is the perfect location to see the sights of Brown County or relax and do nothing!

The Owners have installed an EV charger at the cabin. The connector type is J1772, and it charges at a rate of 5 kW/h, which should be quite convenient for electric vehicles.

NEW – GAME SHED! Our area for play is open with a comfy sectional couch and Air Hockey Table. Enjoy games, puzzles, or just a get-away from the group in a heated/cooled BY NATURE, small building adjacent to the cabin.

They do make some that are silent. Second, the shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom makes the shower very small due to where it was mounted. If it was mounted on the other side of the wood beam it would of added 3 to 4 extra inches of space to move around in the shower. Last the check out process, I have no issues of having to make sure things are picked up and put back, however depending on witch check list you read in the binder it asks you to set the thermostat back to different temperatures. Also when doing the dishes there was a great dishwasher however useless because there was not detergent for it so that you could use it. I understand that some of these are "nit-picking" but I try to do an honest review. Overall, I will absolutely come back and we have already talked about coming back. You would not be disappointed, and everything covered in snow made it extra beautiful out."

Charley's Cabin was built on the site of Alfred Oaldon's old blacksmith shop by Charlie Fox between 1987 and 1990. To replicate his childhood home in Brown County, Charlie used logs he cut himself on an old sawmill he owned as a young man. During WWII, he served in the United States Navy in Guam as a Seabee, where he honed his valuable building skills in constructing airstrips. You'll find more information about the cabin's fascinating history throughout the space.

- "Clean and relaxing" - "My friend and I stayed at the cabin for a writing retreat. It was a perfect spot. The cabin was cozy, the kitchen was well equipped, and the internet was fast and reliable. The location was quiet and secluded (however, it was pretty close to the street, and many drivers went quite fast, so if you bring kids or pets, you need to keep an eye open). The hot tub was relaxing, and they had a great fire pit and grill in the front yard. The back porch overlooked the woods, which made it particularly nice. Plus, the property manager was incredibly responsive whenever we had a question (e.g., we had a question about the water level of the hot tub on our third evening; it was well after business hours, and they responded within minutes!). We certainly would stay here again if we had the opportunity."

Southern Comfort Log Cabin
If you are looking for a truly relaxing getaway with all the comforts and special touches you deserve combined with a classic charm, this cabin will exceed your expectations. Southern Comfort is a large authentic log cabin easily located on a five acre wooded ridge, just minutes from Nashville and Bean Blossom. You can enjoy the abundant wildlife while soaking in the six person hot tub situated on the large wrap around deck that sits among the treetops and offers a charcoal grill for the barbecue enthusiast. The outdoors can also be enjoyed with a game of horse shoes and a bon fire in the log-inspired fire pit.
Inside the cabin, you will find beautiful hand-crafted hardwood floors throughout. The dining room, which offers seating for six, is combined with a fully equipped kitchen, including an indoor grill, that shares a large Brown County stone fireplace and conversation area; a perfect place to enjoy the crackling fire and a glass of wine, as you reminisce of your day's events.

The cozy living room has plenty of seating to share general conversation, a selection of supplied movies, or even a good football game with family and friends on the available satellite program. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room and Satellite TV/DVD.

The second floor offers two large bedrooms. Each offers a different theme; one room is focused on a rustic/primitive flare and boast a king-sized bed, while the second bedroom is furnished with a queen-sized bed and modern-day decor and reading areas. And just before heading to bed, stop in the loft to partake in an assortment of games or puzzles, or just you skip straight toward a hot bath in the authentic claw foot tub/shower. For your comfort enhancement, spa-quality robes are supplied during your stay. The master bedroom has Satellite TV/DVD, the second bedroom has TV/DVD.

After awaking refreshed, we recommend taking advantage of yet another amenity offered by Southern Comfort Cabin; a one-mile trip down the road to enjoy a home-cooked breakfast at Brown County's best-kept secret, the Gatesville Store. The Gatesville Store offers breakfast buffets on the weekends, regular menus for all meals daily (including some of the best pizza around) , last minute supplies, and gold-mining supplies for rent! That's right. Learn about Brown County's "gold-rush" history and take a try at finding your own gold in the Salt Creek, just behind the store.

WILDFLOWER RIDGE LOG CABIN
Nestled in the woods just 12 minutes North East of Nashville and 10 minutes from Brown County State Park, you will find Wildflower Ridge Log Cabin. Close to shopping and adventure, yet you will feel very secluded in this authentic log cabin made of antique logs from a barn of yesteryear.

Upon arrival, you will notice a restful feeling as you drink in nature’s bounty, walking down the path to the front door. Entering the first floor, you will find a cozy living room with a Rumford wood burning fire place, made of Brown County stone. Snuggle up by the fire and watch a movie or just admire the large hand hewn log walls and beams around you.

Off the living room is a large, fully screened, covered porch. What a great place to gather to visit with your loved one. Notice the birds in the nearby trees, who don’t even realize you are right there.

The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. Providing plenty of prep. space on the beautiful oak counter tops. The adjacent dining room has an oak farm table. Maybe you would like to dine by candlelight? Our handmade tin chandelier is equipped with realistic candles, no matches needed.

Follow the stairs to the second floor complete with vaulted ceilings, log beams and skylights in every room. The spacious master bedroom offers a king sized bed, comfy loveseat and antique dressers. Adjacent is a roomy full bath.

Heading downstairs, to the game room, Play a game of pool or head out the back door to the deck.

Dine out on the partially covered deck with charcoal grill and hot tub, overlooking the pond and surrounding woods. At dawn and dusk you may catch a glimpse or more of the deer playing in the edge of the pond- a now daily occurrence.

Doing dishes has never had such a great view overlooking the lake. The wall of windows in the living room will make you never want to leave this property. At this time, the corner wood stove is OFF LIMITS and for looks only and will most likely be replaced soon.

You and yours will retreat to your queen bed perhaps or your little ones or guests will retreat to the trundle bed in the nook. In the morning, enjoy the enormous shower and the ample space.

Cute as a Button Cabin on Button Lake

Turn off the country road onto a lane that takes you across Button Lake and you’ll catch your first glimpse of Cute as a Button Cottage. The big patio and sliding glass doors looking out over the lake welcome you home.

If you are looking for tranquility, you’ve found it. Nestled among the trees, you can enjoy the solitude from the glider on the patio or the swing on the hill. As you’re enjoying the trees reflected in the lake don’t be surprised if a doe and her fawns show up for a drink or the visiting Great Blue Heron strolls across the dam looking for a snack.

You’ll enter the cabin on the lower level where the large open concept kitchen/dining/living areas are perfect for family and friend gatherings. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, tableware and appliances, including microwave, coffee pot, toaster, blender and more. With the large sliding glass doors all across the front you’ll be able to prepare and eat a meal while watching the wildlife. The comfortable love seats and recliners in the living room allow you to kick back and watch your favorite show on the flat screen Roku Smart television. There is also a half bath.

A spiral staircase leads you upstairs to a sitting room with Roku Smart television. On either side of the sitting room are the two spacious bedrooms. One has a bay window so you can enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of your bedroom which is furnished with a queen size bed. The second bedroom, equally as spacious, has two double beds. Both bedrooms and the sitting room have sliding glass doors that take you to a
deck overlooking the lake, a perfect place to watch the early morning mist rise from the water and enjoy your first cup of coffee. Full bath with tub and shower.

Downstairs, the large patio leads out to the lake and has plenty of seating, including a glider and table with umbrella. A flat bottom boat is on the water’s edge and available for paddling around the lake. Be on the lookout for painted turtles sitting on logs and all kinds of frogs along the edge.

Mornings are especially delightful. You’ll be awakened to the sounds of hundreds of birds beginning their day.
And evenings are special, too. The pair of barred owls often talk to each other at dusk and the chorus of frogs will lull you to sleep.

This cottage has plenty of usable water supplied by the lake well. The water is safe, tested and filtered, but, it is not "city water". You might want to bring some drinking water with you if you do not like the taste of well water.

This cabin is a beautiful home nestled in the woods just 5 miles from the Brown County State Park entrance and 10 minutes from Nashville.

There are many features to this cabin that will make your stay enjoyable. From the chinked log walls, wood floors and beamed ceilings; to the big stone gas fireplace and pretty light fixtures, this home is the place you want to be. The master bedroom and private bath are tastefully decorated, and located just off the great room/kitchen/dining area. The master bedroom will treat you to a flat screen 55" high definition satellite tv for your enjoyment.

The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, toaster, blender, pots and pans for cooking. It is designed with French doors that open to a very nice screened in porch with patio set leading to an adjoining deck. The deck is furnished with a grill and there is a firepit.

From the moment you drive up the long drive of Enchanted Lake, until you head home, you will experience a one of a kind vacation adventure. The warm feel of hardwood floors, rocking porch swings, the beauty and whimsy of the enchanted 3 acre Lake, the lodge, and the 21 acres will delight you.

Driving up to the lodge, the front porch with porch swing welcomes you. Entering your eye will be caught by the lake view from the great room, as well as the floor-to-cathedral ceiling stone gas fireplace, that creates a warm country atmosphere. The living room will comfortably seat you and your guests as you enjoy the large screen Smart TV (with Youtube, prime, and Netflix) with a DVD player and a total of 265 movies! The dining area seats 10! Plus there are four seats at the kitchen bar for those who like to stick with the cook. In the fully equipped kitchen you will find everything you need to prepare a dinner for family or friends. Right outside is also the large charcoal grill for those steaks or burgers.

From the great room, step outside to the wrap around porch. The three porch swings provide plenty of sheltered seating with a lake view. There are also a couple of high top tables and chairs so you can sample some appetizers/lunch and drinks with a view. Enjoy the evening stars, morning bird calls, and fresh, crisp breezes over the lake from this porch.

Back inside, explore the master Green Bedroom on the main floor that features a king sized bed, walk-in closet, and 32" flat TV with Youtube, prime and Netflix. There are also French doors out to a private corner of the porch equipped with two porch rockers. The adjoining Bath gives you the luxury of a 2 sink vanity and separate bath area. The Red Bedroom across the hall also features a king bed, ample closet, and flat screen TV with Youtube, prime and Netflix.

Upstairs you will first find the bedroom, which contains two twin beds and another flat screen TV with a DVD player and assortment of movies. Next, explore the Blue Bedroom, with a king bed, flat screen TV with Youtube, prime and Netflix, and a view of the lake. Next door is the Fawn Bedroom, with a king bed, and flat screen TV with Youtube, prime and Netflix. This floor has a full bath, with separate vanity and bath areas.

Now, for a surprise, travel back down stairs and then down to the lower level. A local artist decorated the lower level and the new owners left the art intact! Walking downstairs you will notice the art in the stairwell. Next the 11 foot painted bar will draw your eye, with its wet sink, refrigerator for your drinks and snacks, as well as a microwave. There is a 65" flat screen TV with Youtube, prime and Netflix to be viewed either from the bar or as you play pool, foosball or air hockey. On the other side of the room are couches, and a swing to view the TV with Youtube, prime and Netflix with a DVD player as you enjoy the gas fireplace. There is also a half bath with a large vanity on this level.

Right outside is the hot tub, and homemade kid or big kid swings. Farther out into the yard leading to the lake and trails is the fire pit with seating for 10 .
