After a break in 2022 for upgrading the floors and some furniture, we have made the house available for our guests to book for 2023.

Location: Our house is in the midtown area of Anchorage, in a community on Tudor Road, one of the major streets in town. It is within a few miles to everywhere. The first time we saw it, we fell in love with it by its convenient location close to the University of Alaska, hospital, well-known Anchorage Botanical Garden, and an easy access to local restaurants and shops.

The Backyard: At the back of the house is the Reflection Lake that offers a full view to the living room and a huge backyard deck. The summer sunset takes quite a few hours and one can enjoy the sunshine on the deck even after11 pm. Frequently you can see kayaks or canoes drifting and ducks splashing water for fun.

The First Floor: Here you see the eating area, the kitchen, a powder room (a half bath), a French door to the deck, and of course the sitting room with a large window overlooking the lake. You can choose to have your breakfast either on the deck under the pavilion or at the eating area inside while enjoying the lake view. In addition, an electronic baby grand piano is available for your use. You will also see a smart TV in the sitting room. You can login your own accounts or use available Amazon Prime videos to watch movies and other TV shows.

The Second Floor: we have three bedrooms upstairs. Two bedrooms face East, and one faces South; each is bathed in a plenty of sunshine. Spacious and airy, the Mater Room has a king-size bed and an En-suite full bath. The Guest Room 1 is smaller with a queen-size bed; the Guest Room 2 also has a queen-size bed. Opposite to the Guest Room 2 is the second full bathroom in the hallway. All rooms are very clean, eye-appealing, with comfortable bedding. There are TVs in the Master Room and the Guest Room 1. At the loft on the second floor, there is a big TV with Amazon Fire TV cube, easy to find and stream all your favorite shows, movies, sports, and more. Prime has been purchased and is available for watching movies and shows. If you have accounts with other channels, it's easy to log in too. The loft area is a place that you can relax, watch TV, and hang out in the evening; children particularly love the place. Opposite the loft area is the laundry room where you can use the washer and dryer. Feel free to use the facilities; detergent, the ironing facility is provided for your convenience.

Seeing is believing; you're welcome to stay at our property and you will surely enjoy your morning and evening at the house when you return from the daily exciting trips in Anchorage or close-by areas.

We had 5 people, the youngest of which was 13. Everyone was very pleased with our stay. There was plenty of room for us to spend time hanging out together The kitchen is well equipped. We cooked in about half the time. The owners were wonderful to work with. We would definitely stay here again! The centralized location is less than four miles from the Anchorage Museum, and about seven miles from the Alaska Zoo. The Alyeska Ski Area, a world-class downhill ski venue, is a little over 40 miles away. From here, one can also link to bike paths and cross-country ski trails that interconnect across all of Anchorage. Closer to home, when the salmon are running, you will get glimpses in the stream that borders your yard! This fully furnished apartment features an open kitchen equipped with modern appliances. The dining area comfortably seats four guests, while the spacious living room boasts a 65-inch smart TV. The unit comprises two bedrooms, each furnished with a queen-sized mattress. Additionally, one of the bedrooms features a dedicated workspace, perfect for remote workers. The bathroom is fitted with a bathtub and includes a washer and dryer for added convenience.

- "While the unit is not exactly what pictures shows, it was clean and comfortable, I think more information in welcoming binder would be a plus. How to work the TV, how the fan works, that the ice maker does not work, etc. But overall it was a good unit. Owner/Rep was very responsive to all inquiries! I would say it’s not a quiet street." - "The duplex retreat is conveniently located to Providence Hospital, which allowed us to visit our daughter and her work. Maintenance of property prior to check in could be improved and there was a touch of smoke smell the first day. However, the hosts were very responsive when they found out the TV didn't working. Friendly environment in a nice remodeled house right close to everything in the UMed district. ANMC, UAA, Providence. There are two very friendly Labrador retrievers in the house.

Neighborhood is next to the university of Alaska, ANMC, and providence. Trails start right down the street and easy walk to any of those places. There are two very friendly labs in the house that may bark when someone new comes in, but extremely friendly.

This recently renovated AirBnB loft is as quiet and as clean as any in Anchorage. The cozy unit has a great room with sectional leather couch and big TV. The other end is a brand-new kitchenette/dining area. There's also a brand new washer/dryer... might as well run a load or two before you get on the plane right? The bedroom and modern bathroom are spotless- we take great pride in maintaining our 5-start cleanliness rating, and many call this unit the cleanest AirBnB they've ever seen. There's a Bluetooth-compatible “Smart TV” with access to Netflix, Roku, Amazon Prime and other apps but no cable. In the kitchenette you'll find a microwave, small fridge/freezer, Keurig coffee and hot water, also flatware, dishes and cups/glasses to make carryout more pleasant. The space is perfect for takeout and morning coffee, but lacks a full kitchen so it's not ideal for meal prep or cleanup. Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located place. 20 mins to airport with traffic. We also have 2 jet skies for rent along with a camper. 10-15 mins to downtown. 10 mins to highways. The apartment is very special to me…it is where my 3 boys were born. It is a peaceful place close to many trails to explore biking, skiing or walking.The property is built above a garage, so no neighbors downstairs! There are stairs to go up to the apartment. Our family Lives next door and you might see some kids playing in the backyard.

Anchorage Escape

Escape to Alaska at this charming studio apartment. Inside, this comfortable rental is tastefully-furnished and very welcoming, while outside, there's a shared yard bordering a salmon stream. The back deck is great to sit out on and relax with your favorite book or drink, and you'll also have access to a gas grill for warm weather cookouts.

This studio is on a three-acre oasis within the campus of the University of Alaska. The centralized location is less than four miles from the Anchorage Museum, and about seven miles from the Alaska Zoo. The Alyeska Ski Area, a world-class downhill ski venue, is a little over 40 miles away. From here, one can also link to bike paths and cross-country ski trails that interconnect across all of Anchorage. Closer to home, when the salmon are running, you will get glimpses in the stream that borders your yard! And in case of emergencies, you will be within walking distance of the Providence Alaska Medical Center.

Very close to hospitals, universities and gyms. This location gives you access to bike trails, dog parks and bus routes. Centrally located you are 10-15 minutes to just about anything. The neighborhood is very quiet for a home away from home feel.

Garbage day is Wednesday morning. I prefer the trash is taken down the night before to avoid missing any services. Back Yard clean up are every Thursday, please don’t be alarmed. Fireweed Suite has everything necessary for your comfortable stay. The sitting room with TV can convert to a second bedroom with queen bed. Please notify your hostess if you wish to have the second bed made-up. The suite's bedroom has a queen bed. WiFi throughout the suite. Private full bath. Private entrance. Free off-street parking for your car. Inspected and approved accommodation. Current hot tub was installed June 2022. It has a locked canopy cover. Hot tub is available in summer months.

The space
The decor of this suite is Alaskan from antique snowshoes to display of bear skull with gold tooth and small moose rack. (The bear was shot in self-defense on a remote fishing trip by Caroline's dad; the moose was shot by Craig when they lived in Fairbanks. The meat was delicious.) Total blackout shades are in the sitting room and bedroom for guests ease of sleeping in the summer's night sunlight. The Fireweed Suite's kitchenette is equipped with sink, counter space for eating, small refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave, two-burner range, and coffee maker. Dishes and cooking utensils are provided. Suite has handicap features which include ramp from private parking to your private entrance, grab bars in the bathtub/shower, and wider doors. A handicap shower stool is available if requested. Art work on the wall ranges from drawings of fireweed to native artist work depicting a food cache.

Guest access
Guests have access to kitchenette, sitting room, bedroom, and private bathroom within the suite. Also guests can enjoy the garden and grounds by sitting on the deck's chairs & bench or on a glider or chair within the garden. A stone bench on the property is placed beside Chester Creek so guests may sit and quietly reflect. A BBQ is also available if requested.

During your stay
Hostess is always available via text and loves personal interaction. Both Caroline and Craig have many ideas of things to do and see in Anchorage. They have lived in Anchorage for more than 40 years and in Alaska for more than 50 years.

Other things to note
The Fireweed Suite is offered as an accommodation only. Breakfast is not provided; however, you may buy food at a local grocery store and prepare breakfast within your suite's kitchenette. Plates, glasses, cutlery are provided along with dish soap and a dish drainer.

Chilkoot Vista is conveniently located in the UMed district. The property also backs to a private lake and is very close to trail systems. The property is tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac backing to Reflection lake with a full display of the Chugach mountain range. The space has a large lounge area, eating table, and full kitchen stocked with all the tools you need to make a meal. There is also a semi-fenced yard for the safety of your furry friends shared with the lower unit.
