It is very close to the boat launch and there are tons of restaurants and shops within a few minute's walk. Breakfast is a set meal...toast, eggs, meat, cheese, and fruit. If you are a vegan or have dietary restrictions, you are going to have an issue with the breakfast. The door to my patio was broken so I wasn't able to put my wetsuit out to dry. The hot water took about 5 minutes to heat. Wifi in the room is non-existant, I had to go down to the restaurant to get access. The area is VERY loud, the restaurant plays loud music and there is a nightclub across the street that blasts music on the weekends. The pool closes at 6 and has no seating, its really not a place to hang out unless you have kids. You can probably get a similar room for less since the amenities are actually very basic, despite what it lookslike on the website."

Rooms weren’t huge but had what you needed. The bed was comfortable. It would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room but they did install a beer and beverage fridge in the lobby on the second last day of our stay. The hotel is quite small so noise is not a problem. The breakfast in the morning is on a rooftop deck and was very good. This was a great place to spend 4 nights. "

The port was convenient for our tours to Los Tuneles and Las Tintoreas- we just met them at the port instead of going to the office. One large bottle of water comes free of charge with the room. The rules are common sense and not at all hard to follow! Of course it is important to protect this diverse and unique ecosystem! If you want to really enjoy the beauty of Isabela in a sustainable and beautiful place, this is the place to stay!"

- "Do not overlook staying in Bella Vista because you want to explore Puerto Ayora. I recommend you stay part time in both. Bella Vista is for if you want to experience something more local and I highly recommend that. I traveled solo and it was a perfect time for some quiet. Puerto Ayora is a short car ride away. You can also walk outside the hotel to the little park or on the walking trail which I recommend and and it’s very safe since it’s just walking in a country road. The locals are extremely nice. Venicio also tells you what each meal is and if the meal is common among locals. This was an amazing hotel to stay at in Bella Vista. Venicio was AMAZING. I recommend going during the week day so that you have more space to yourself. That’s what I did and it was wonderful. This lodge includes all meals (at an extra cost), taxi service (depending on availability and at an extra cost). Meals and taxi were at a reasonable price so I suggest you tip well because the service is excellent! It’s truly staying in a more local part of Santa Cruz, if you want to be away from the tourist side for a bit as well. Gorgeous rooms with lots of space. "

The owner was not on site, so I ended up having to share the room with my friend instead of staying in the room I paid for. Owner was fully aware the AC didn't work and moved me to a new room the next day. She did not check if the AC was working in the new room. It did not, so I immediately went to notify her and was basically accused of doing something to this air-conditioner. If you're going to have guests, common sense would say you check to make sure the air conditioning is working in a room they booked and then check to make sure the AC is working if you are putting them in another room. I certainly did not appreciate being made to feel like I did something wrong because she didn't bother to check to make sure AC was working. Won't stay there again"

Location!! The twin bed is located in the living room area of a one-bedroom apartment. There is a shared bathroom with hot water. Perfect location (100 m/300ft away from the ocean). There's a kitchen with a coffee maker, mini-fridge, dishes, silverware. No stove (cooking is not possible). AC and ceiling fan. Please keep in mind that someone else will be in the apartment sleeping in the bedroom (he is the co-host). Therefore, PRIVACY, IS LIMITED. Free use of washing machine (1 wash per stay).

The space
Casa Mabell is your best option in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, San Cristobal Island, the capital of the Galapagos Archipelago. We are a family-owned hostel that provides superb customer service. We are located only 2 blocks away from the main dock and 5 minutes away from the airport. This is a twin size bed located in what it would be the living room area of a one bedroom apartment located on a second floor. The bathroom is shared with one person (he is the co-host). The co-host is an experienced traveler and Airbnb host who is also friendly, open-minded and who will help you during your stay. However, as you can imagine, there won't be much privacy, so please keep this in mind before booking.
Since there will be someone else in the apartment we ask to our potential guests to be mindful and respect the quiet hours (10:00pm - 7:00am). No visitors nor overnight guests. No smoking of any kind in the apartment, no loud music. If you violate these rules you will be reported to Airbnb and asked to leave the premises.

Directions to Casa Mabell:
If you arrive by plane: right after you exit the airport you will see white pick up trucks (those are taxis) just take any taxi any and tell the driver to take you to "Casa Mabell" or "Casa de Nelson Leon" by Banco del Pacifico, the driver will know where to take you and the cab ride will be no more than 2 dollars.
If you are arriving by boat: we are actually located only two blocks and a half away from the pier, it will take you 2-3 minutes to get here walking. Right in front of the pier one left hand side you will see the police station, there go left along the waterfront, at the next corner you will see 2 big houses (both are hotels and the one on the left is entirely white). Just walk up that street in between those two houses, pass the first street (you will see Banco del Pacifico at the corner on your right hand side) , we are on the next block on the right hand side, there's a sign that reads "Casa Mabell" you can't miss it.

We live in the same premises (downstairs), just let us know if you need anything.
