The original house was destroyed by bombs dropped by Japanese fighter bombers during the World War II. The house was rebuilt after the war in 1946-48 with great difficulty. The location has easy connectivity to all arterial roads in and out of Imphal.

Located in Mantripukhri, Imphal East, which is soon to become the centre of the city. It has a serenity and ambiance of it's own, and my house is located in a large compound. It is easily accessible, and transport, both public and private are available. It takes a mere ten minutes to reach both the local market and department stores. It is surrounded by places of worship, like the Cathedral, temple and mosque. There are several fast food eateries, restaurants and hotels in the vicinity.

The space
Mantripukhri is a newly developed area to which the capital of Imphal is shifting. The Legislative Assembly and High Court of Manipur are already functioning here , and the New Administrative Secretariat of the Government of Manipur is under construction. The entire area is extremely safe and quaint and far enough from the maddening crowd of the city but close enough to all the important landmarks.
