- "I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience at Tommy’s Budget Rooms. Upon arrival, I was first given the wrong room, which had a broken shower and exposed electrical cables something that felt extremely unsafe. The bed was in very poor condition, with an unpleasant smell, and the towels provided were old and worn out. Loud music played until 4:30 a.m., making it impossible to sleep. When I approached the receptionist, he explained that he had no authority to ask the guests to lower the music. The situation became even more concerning when some of the guests, who were drunk, became aggressive and even threatened to damage my car if I kept complaining. I attempted to contact the owner, Anthony, multiple times during the night. When he finally answered, he told me he couldn’t help and mentioned that he didn’t even have details of my booking since it was made through Expedia. This left me feeling both unsafe and unsupported. Overall, I experienced no rest, no comfort, and no sense of safety during my stay. This is not something I would expect from any accommodation, regardless of price. I truly hope the management takes these issues seriously and improves conditions for future guests."

In the morning i took a look around the property and it had a great garden area. Tons of different birds. Nice views. I sat at a table in the garden area and had a great breakfast . Staff were incredibly nice. And the young man who greeted me at 1 am was there at 8am as well and very helpful getting me a motorbike driver to the city and answering my million questions Also hotel is a ten minute walk away to the famous kigali market. Welcome to my home in Kacyiru, a central area in Kigali! We have a beautiful house with a big kitchen that we'd love to share with you and we're always excited to help guests explore our city. We host lots of travelers/digital nomads, so you’ll have instant friends :) I am a social entrepreneur and have lived in Rwanda for 10 years. My awesome housekeeper does a great job with cleaning, laundry, and any errands. I also have two friendly dogs who are as cuddly or distant as you’d like them to be.

The space
You'd have your own bedroom with a double bed and shelves. 2 people could fit in the bed, as it's 140 cm wide, but the room itself is on the smaller side. You'd also have your own bathroom right across the hall (not en-suite), although this would occasionally be shared with someone else or house visitors. Our kitchen is fully equipped and you are welcome to use utensils, pots, pans, plates, tupperware, plates, etc. as well as the spices.

Guests should feel at home! Use the dining room, living room, kitchen, balcony, etc, as you wish! We treat guests as though they are roommates, our home is your home. <3

During your stay
We tend to have a social house, and will invite you to come join us out on weekends, etc., but no pressure at all if you want to do your own thing! If we don't have a guest before/after you, we are very flexible with check in and check out times. And if we do have a guest before you, we are flexible with coming in a bit early to drop off stuff until the room is ready (and if we have a guest after you, no problem to leave your stuff with us a bit later than checkout).
