The unit it self was clean and had the usual items such as fridge TV microwave,pool and washer &dryer. There was an outside BBQ and entertaining area which was great as we spent most afternoons there. The only issue we had was the underground spinklers as when they turned on the water sprayed all over the BBQ area!! Over all the property was perfect for us and what made it even better we had the whole property to ourselves and I think there are around 8 units all up, so it was Like our own peice of paradise on Maggie. We also hired our rental car through the same place which made everything so easy upon departing Maggie!!"

Corica Cabana is home to my partner Brendan and I. We live in beautiful Horseshoe Bay on Magnetic Island. Corica Cabana - bunk room is exactly that, double bed with single bunk over in an airconditioned room. Some storage is available in the wardrobe. Guests have shared use of kitchen, bathroom/laundry, plunge pool, decks and living areas.
Corica Cabana has 2 other guest rooms and Brendan and I live in the house as well. We enjoy meeting travellers and sharing our island home.

Quiet but full of fun packed activities if you wish to try them out. Sailing, jet ski tours, motor boat sports and fishing are all available less than 10 minutes walk from the house. The Horseshoe Bay waterfront has many delightful dining options from high quality A La Carte dining to ample barbecue facilities in the park on the waterfront. Join the sunset appreciation society every evening as the sky puts on its special show.
If you prefer a more laid back holiday it is the perfect place for long beach walks, mountain bush walks or just bird watching from the back deck.
Horseshoe Bay is also our home and a wonderful community of friendly people. Locals are keen to say hello and give advice if needed.
The whole of Magnetic island is a wildlife haven and you will see your fair share from Corica Cabana. Wallabies on the footpath, cockatoos in the trees, curlews splashing in the creek, not to mention the cheeky possums!


Horseshoe Bay is one of the few places on the island where you can enjoy year round safe swimming. There is a lifeguard patrolled swimming area which has a large stinger protection net in the wet season. Corica cottage also provides a small plunge pool for cooling off. Not big enough for water play but perfect for a late night dip before bed or for washing off the salt after a big day at the beach.
There are many great walks on the island and we are happy to make recommendations to suit your needs.

Guest access
Guests have access to a full kitchen with appliances including food processor, blender, slowcooker and bread maker. All linen is provided, there is a herb and vegetable garden you are welcome to pick from, basic condiments in the pantry, a communal dining table on the back deck and a plunge pool to wash off the salt after a day at the beach. 2 decks, one front and one back means you can socialise with your hosts if you wish, or enjoy your own private sitting space if you prefer.

My partner Brendan and I live in the home. We respect your privacy and provide spaces where you can enjoy relaxing on your own. We are also happy to socialise and let you know the things we love about our island home if you like.

The space
The unit is fully content apartment built in a recycled shipping container. Fully off the grid (except for water) living experience for our guests. We use solar energy to charge batteries which convert it to electricity. Have TV, Fridge, microwave and basic cooking facility with all the cutlery and crockery.

Out door shower for changed experience at a privacy setting. The toilet is built inside the unit. Use gas for hot water. Hot water for shower, kitchen sink and toilet sink. We installed an air conditioner recently (10/10/2020) so there won’t be an problem about hot humid days during summer months.

I will be there to meet and greet you, & will supply you full arrival information & suggestion of things to do around the Island.

Corica Cabana is our beloved home in Horseshoe Bay on Beautiful Magnetic Island.
The Pool View Room is exactly that, a small double room with air conditioning, wardrobe and a lovely view of our plunge pool. We live here and have 2 other rooms also available for guests.

Our house is centrally located in Horseshoe Bay, close to bus stop and 10 minutes walk from the waterfront.

The space
Corica Cubana is a small 3 bedroom house in Horseshoe Bay. My partner Brendan and I live in the home and share with guests. Our bedroom is in the backyard studio and the 3 rooms in the house are available for guest.
The house is easy walking distance from the bus stop and a 10 Minute walk to the beach or to the lovely Horseshoe Bay Lagoon.
Access to the wonderful National Parks walking tracks if via Horseshoe Bay beachfront or from the Forts Walk bus stop.

Guest have access to a full kitchen, shared bathroom with toilet and laundry and all open living areas. There is a front deck with plunge pool and seating areas, a back deck with dining table and a garden with plenty to explore including a yoga deck. We even have an outdoor bathroom where you can have an a fresco shower or bath.

We enjoy interacting with guests and sharing information about our beautiful Island home. Feel free to join us for Happy Hour at 5 pm on the back deck. We also respect guest privacy and are happy to let you do your own thing.

Horseshoe Bay is the hub of Water Sports Activities, Horseshoe Bay Beach Hire offers kayaks, stand up boards and paddle boats to enjoy the tranquil waters, spot sea turtles or explore White Lady Bay, a secluded beach.
Horseshoe Bay offers Beach Front Restaurants and Cafes as well as a Convenience Store.
The Koala Park is a short stroll away from our location, offering daily tours.
Free Tennis Court is also just minutes away.
Horseshoe Bay is the only Bay that has access to Walking Tracks to Radical Bay and Balding Bay from the Beach Front.
Forts Walk is a great way for spotting Koalas.
Bus Service is also located at Gifford Street, 5 minutes from our accommodation if you like to explore other parts of Magnetic Island.
