- "Everything good" - "This place is currently under renovation and it was empty with no staff and no guess" - "This self-acclaimed hotel closed a year ago in a totally run-down state. Some four months ago it was bought by a new (US citizen) owner who is trying to rebuild the place. Currently there is one room that looks quite okay, however there is no reception, no personnel apart from a local housekeeper. The problem starts with the entrance. When we arrived on December 14 around noon, the gate was closed, while there is no name sign nor anything else that indicates the existence of a hotel. It looks like private property from the outside. I tried to cancel the reservation, but that was not possible on the day of arrival. We went to look for an alternative place. The next day, after an unsatisfactory phone call with the owner who maintains the stand that the 'hotel' is functioning normally I decided to investigate the place a little further. US$ 65 was booked off my credit card because of a No-Show. I talked to the housekeeper who allowed me in and showed me around. I have made nice photoshoot of the place so everybody can judge for himself. Please note the first picture that shows the entrance. If you zoom in on the wall left of the blue gate you can still more or less decipher the painted over sign "hotel Selvazul". The last picture shows you a table full of mice excrements if you zoom in a little. "

However, we were able to get some signal in the restaurant area... enough to be able to communicate with family/friends. We felt that was acceptable, since our main goals were to disconnect and to enjoy nature as much as possible. Also, we were not able to charge electronic devices in our cabin due to a necessary electrical repair, so we did that in the restaurant. We also went on hiking and city/castle tours, which we enjoyed. The city/castle tour included tasting of locally-made chocolate. Overall, we had an amazing, very memorable experience at Guacimo Lodge. We would definitely go back."

Cueva Nica is a small local and cozy hostel. And we provide restaurant, bar and internet access. We are located in the mere center of the colonial city of Granada/Nicaragua, just 1 and a half blocks from the Central Park. We live in a beautiful colonial house with two green patios and an artistic design. All of our walls identify the petroglyphs in all of Nicaragua. Our rooms are spacious and with private bathroom and ceiling fans.

The room is a bedroom for up to 8 people with a private bathroom (in the room) and is located on the second patio, which is very quiet and with little noise.

They are here in an humanitarian mission : they manage a school, help the sicks and maintain the catholic church.
By coming here, you help them to continue their efforts to help the poorest on the island. In fact, the money goes directly to the school or to help the sick people.
