With the a4 mtorway 6km away both the coast and inland cities like Vila Real, Braga, Guimaraes, Porto and the Douro Valley are all less than 1 hours drive.

The old granite house is located on the left bank of the Tâmega River.
The property was completely restored in 2012, respecting the original architecture, being endowed with all the comfort requirements.
All the space by the house and pool you can have stunning views of the river and its green banks.
The house has an excellent sun exposure, with all rooms and rooms facing south / west.
So they can enjoy maximum comfort in all seasons, all rooms are equipped with hot / cold air conditioning. There is also a fireplace in the main room.
Outside you can make grilled on bbq. and baked in a wood oven. You can also enjoy the magnificent climate cooling down in the pool.
The house consists of two floors. Previously the bottom floor was for the winery and agricultural activities and higher housing floor. After the refurbishment, the whole building began to be intended only to housing.
Thus, the house consists of lounge with sitting area and dining room, kitchen, 1 double bedroom and en-suite on the ground floor. On the 1st floor there are two double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large mezzanine with two sofa beds.
Over the 15 000m2 property can enjoy the greenery and the very landscape of this area, as well as waterfalls.
The historic town of Amarante is only 4km and worth a visit to the historic sites. Also throughout the region the cuisine is of a rich and highly appreciated regional sweets.

The house details were a little unclear regarding the bathrooms, but each of the three double bedrooms has its own well equipped bathroom with decent showers and plenty of hot water, Choice of two decent sized supermarkets in Amarante nearby - Intermarche and Continental. Continental was a bit easier to get to and better stocked. Amarante was a very nice town (our favourite of the towns we visited in the area), not too big, and with good restaurants. Overall - highly recommended if you want to stay near here, and thank you Miquelina."

This is a newly renovated stone cottage with open plan kitchen/dining and lounge area. In the kitchen area there is an electric fan oven/grill with gas hob and extractor.
There is also a dishwasher, fridge together with electric kettle, toaster, microwave oven.
Above via a secure spiral staircase is a large bedroom with double bed and sofa bed. The ensuite bathroom consists of 1.20m shower cabin, wash basin and toilet.
The bedroom can also be reached by external stairs to a private terrace.
Access to the swimming pool is via further steps.
Also externally is a covered area offering shade and shelter if raining.

The cottage was really comfortable and well equipped, we loved eating outside, trying and failing to spot the birds that we could hear in the trees. We made extensive use of the bread van, which comes every morning, allowing us to have sugary treats for tea every day. We took the odd break from swimming in the pool to go river swimming which was a real treat - worth the walk to find the swim at the old dam. Amarante is not too far away, and there is more to explore there than you might see at first glance. The art museum was really good, we borrowed (e.g. they were free) bikes from tourist office and did a really nice ride on the old train line from Amarante into the hills. Harry was really helpful in helping us find things to do without being at all intrusive and on top of that saved our bacon with the hire car. You do need a car to get to the nearest shop. Highly recommended."

This country house comprises a traditional architecture with urban inside decoration, one bedroom (suite), three bathroom and two living room (one with beds and sofas), and a beautiful garden with swimming pool.

Check in was easy and Paulo greeted us with a bottle of wine and fresh pastry specific to the region. The house was extremely clean and had everything we needed. AC in the two master bedrooms, the LR, and the DR was appreciated. As a pleasant surprise we had a house cleaning and fresh bed sheets after one week. The garden is beautiful and outdoor furniture invite to lounge and hang out. The house is located on a small road, however the amount of traffic surprised us. Lidl in Amarante (10 min drive) was convenient and we fell in love with this beautiful town. This is a wonderful place to stay if you want to explore the Douro Valley and Porto region. Keys of the Houses:
- The master key is with you. Please let it inside the home (at the kitchen) when end your stay at the houses.
- There are 3 additional keys in the kitchen: one for each garden gate and the other for the store room where are the swimming pool materials.

Energy:
The houses have a main framework for electricity in the second floor, in the hall, where electricity can be turned on / off.
There is also a second framework for electricity in the first floor, in the storage under the stairs.

Boiler:
Fuel based, in the near outside store room.
Operating basics
- The Main Button (at the front top of the boiler) has 3 circular positions: press one time to have hot water in the taps, press second time to have hot water and central heating (in the cold season), press third time and is again in stand by (not heating any water).

Swimming pool:
The swimming pool is available for use.
You have to assume the risks of using a swimming pool and follow the standard rules that should be applied.
It has 12m x 4 m, and it goes from 0 meter to 1.80 meter, in depth, from side to side.
Children should only be at the swimming pool area with adult supervision.
Evaluation of PH and CL will be evaluated with you. Automatic operation keeps adequate levels in a weekly basis. The water flows every day, 8 hours per day, to keep a cleaning standard usage.

Security
Keep the house closed with the key.
When leaving you can just close all the door, let the KEYS on the Kitchen’s Table, and shut the front door.

Garden
The garden in front of the house is available for standard use.
You should not use the border of the garden where the natural limit of the land is dangerous.

Market Garden
You should avoid going to the market garden where different vegetables, fruits aromatic herbs are growing. The market garden area separates the Swimming pool area from the Houses area.
But you can pick some fresh vegetables, as well as some aromatic herbs from the aromatic corner.

The caravan is inside a organic/regenerative family farm project and within the wild. It is a comfy space, ideal for a couple, but we can offer an extra bed if there are children too.

You can also wash your clothes in a laundry tank that's in the outdoor space.
There is a small vegetable garden that is for the guests to water and have a bit of a gardener experience if they want to!
We also have the farm main garden where we grow all the season vegetables.
In the farm there is a small private river beach, with really clear water.
Everything around here was made by our family and mostly by our own hands, with a lot of love, so expect that everything is comfy and familiar and with a very personal touch and let yourself surrender by nature.
