The light filled kitchen includes a dining table for 4 and opens up into a light filled living room equipped with a Smart TV (Netflix provided) and a library of books to choose from for a cozy night in. This is our personal library of books so we please ask that you leave the books behind at the end of your stay.

The hallway doubles as a workspace and is equipped with a desk for those needing to work while staying with us. The bathroom is newly remodeled with a tile floor and shower. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are provided. There are few complimentary toiletries in the mirror medicine cabinet and make-up towels and a hair dryer have been provided for your convenience.

☆☆ OUTDOOR AREA ☆☆
The front deck where you enter provides ample room for relaxation and is equipped with full outdoor dining. There is also a dog run in the back of the yard, a charcoal grill provided along with grilling utensils (charcoal and lighter fluid are not provided), and a large private back deck. We do have black bears that pass through the neighborhood so it is necessary to bring all food items inside at the end of the evening and to cover the grill.
Other things to note
This home is located a few hundred feet off of a one-way gravel drive with 4 other homes. The road is not steep and very manageable in any vehicle. There is plenty of parking for 3 vehicles. This home is located in a residential area near other homes, the closest being across the gravel road from this one (see photos), but the home and decks still feel very private because of the trees.

We like to remind guests and first time visitors that Asheville is teeming with wildlife! Alongside the group of wild turkeys that frequent the backyard you will most likely see our neighborhood black bears during your stay - either one 1 larger lone male or a medium sized mother bear with 2 cubs. Please keep your distance, bring in all food items before going to bed each evening, and at the end of your stay please leave your garbage in the home. Our cleaning staff will take care of disposing of it.

Our check in time is 4:00 p.m. and our check out time is 11:00 a.m. We ask that you please be respectful of these times to allow our cleaning team adequate time to prepare the house for the next guests. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our home!

Our home is equipped with one Ring camera (outside only) and a smart lock on the front door for your peace of mind and security during your stay.

We are dog friendly! (sorry, no cats allowed at this listing due to allergies)- Each dog must be added to your reservation request when booking and a fee of $75 must be submitted with your reservation prior to booking. The number of dogs for this property is limited to 2 dogs. The pet fee is not per pet, it is just a flat fee.

You will notice that we have a library of books in our home. We encourage you to enjoy them during your stay but we please ask that you leave the books at home during your day to day adventures and at the end of your stay. Our books mean a lot to us, but we do like to provide them to guests for their enjoyment during their stay.

Our hope is our "starter package" of consumable goods will allow you to enjoy your stay thoroughly, but please plan to pack or purchase items you may need beyond what is provided. Conveniently, there is an Ingles grocery store less than 5 min from the home!

Please note that this home does not have a dishwasher or access to a washer or dryer. Dishes are not required to be washed and put away before your departure but we do ask that you scrap all food into the trash, rinse dishes of food residue, and place in the sink for our cleaning staff.

Quiet hours are from 11:00 pm - 6:00 am; please respect these hours by not playing music outside during these hours.

This cabin is located on 20 acres of land off a private gravel road that is just off of Highway 321 in Blowing Rock. While we don't have many neighbors, the ones we do have are very friendly and you may see them driving by throughout the day. The cabin is situated at the top of the only road in and out of the community, so please make sure to not block the road in any way that could obstruct our neighbors' access.

Highway 321 will be cleared appropriately in winter months. As for the road off of 321 to this cabin, it is paved but in the event of inclement weather - 4WD or AWD is suggested in winter months.

While the road to the house does melt quickly, it can be tricky with snow.

If you’re headed further into the High Country, we’d encourage you to take a drive. We highly recommend taking the longer route on the Blue Ridge Parkway to get from where you are to where you’re going. If you’re looking for another scenic route, be sure to take Shull’s Mill road if you’re headed toward Banner Elk or Valle Crucis.

While you stay, there will be plenty of room to park. Feel free to park on the concrete next to the garage or on the gravel.

Before you pack up and head to the mountains, know that when we say mountains, we really mean it!
Dillsboro NC elevation starts at 1,975 feet. Think of this as your starting point. If you want to get a beautiful mountain view, you've gotta climb some mountains. Mountain roads are typically gravel, steeper, narrower and curvier than you may be use to driving. This is all part of our charm.
We do have one big hill to get up. It is gravel. We regularly drive a Hyundai Sonata up. While AWD vehicles make everything easier they are not required. Maintain an even speed (10mph) going up and you should have no issues. If you have Traction Control, you will do better turning it off going uphill.

Large parking area out front, extremely clean and plenty of shower gels/soaps/lotions…we somehow managed to use almost all of the towels between the hot tub and showers. There were two swan shaped towels sitting on the bed, which was a nice touch. We didn’t get a chance to use the jacuzzi tub, but it was nice to have the option. Appliances were nice and there was plenty of ice in the fridge for drinks and to add to a mini cooler. The views from the balcony were great, especially while sitting in the rocking chairs or in the hot tub…so serene and relaxing. The bed was also extremely comfortable, for sleep and watching tv. Also appreciated the washer/dryer for a quick wash of sweaty clothes. The shower was a little small, but sufficient. Robin's Nest is a stunning 4 bed, 3.5 bath Dahlonega home located just outside the city of Dahlonega and just before/on the way to many of the local wineries. On the wall, you can find a guitar for strumming along to the classics, courtesy of Praise Guitars, located a 2 min walk from our front door. Like our vinyls, nearly all of our art and books came from small shops in Luray. Say hello to Jim if you stop by the local bookstore, and let him know Lindsey sent you!

Our board games are not locally sourced, but they are classic and quite lovely on our bookcase. There is ample room around the coffee table or in the dining table for a contentious game of Monopoly, Sorry!, Scrabble, etc.

Work from our home during the day and explore Shenandoah Valley on evenings and weekends. We have desks in each of the 3 rooms with king size beds. All 3 Roku TVs are easy to use for casting your laptop, so they can be used as a second monitor. Our internet service provider is Xfinity, providing fast reliable internet for all your important and not-so important zoom calls.

For sleeping, we offer 4 bedrooms. The downstairs bedroom has a twin daybed that converts into a king mattress - you can configure this room whichever way bests suits you and your guests. The first upstairs bedroom has a more firm memory foam bed. The second upstairs bedroom has a soft but supportive hybrid mattress. The third bedroom has two twin-over-full bunk beds, all outfitted with Purple brand mattresses, so they are comfortable for kids and adults alike.

There are two full bathrooms and one half bathroom - one full and one half bathroom downstairs, and one full bathroom upstairs. We keep a few handy items in the upstairs bathroom in case you forgot them at home. We have earplugs available in this closet for light sleepers - we are in town so there are noises that come with that. Note: the upstairs shower takes a minute or two to heat up. If you are in a rush, use the downstairs shower.

Dogs are welcome! We ask that you let us know a little bit about your pet guests when booking. If you selected a pet when your booking reservation you have already covered your pet fees. If you only added people to your reservation and need to add a pet to your reservation, please let us know, it's easy!

We are located in town, and with that come town noises. We provide a white noise machine in each bedroom, and ear plugs are available in our upstairs full bath. The in-town element is great during the winter - our home is on the alternate emergency route for the local hospital, so it is always cleared of snow very quickly!

You will have private access to the entire home, with 2 exceptions. The basement is used for storage only, as well as an unfinished bonus room upstairs. We have the doors to both of these spaces locked.

We are right across the street from Luray's visitor center and train museum. That is a great first stop in the area. Their staff is friendly and they have pamphlets for just about every local activity you can think of.

Walk:
You can essentially walk the entirety of Luray's walkable downtown/main street area. There is a pass through street off our shared driveway that takes you directly to Broad Porch Coffee shop, a perfect way to start the morning. We are also steps away from Luray's newest restaurant, Watch and Warrant.

Our exit driveway is an easement managed by the town. Take it slow going out - it can be a little rough on lower vehicles if you are not careful.

We are located in town, and with that come town noises. Street traffic, train traffic, and the town's emergency siren are all things to be aware of. We provide a white noise machine in each bedroom, and ear plugs are available in our upstairs full bath.

We highly encourage purchasing Airbnb's new Travel Insurance for your stay, provided by Generali, a leading travel insurer.
We require that the guest who made the reservation has their ID verified with Airbnb before they arrive and is present for the reservation.

We have a $60 per hour unapproved late checkout fee.

Enjoy yourselves! Our amenities are for you to sit outside and relax 24/7, but please do so with our neighbors in mind. We observe Page county quiet hours, which defines evening time as, "The local time between the hours of 11:00pm and 6:00am Sunday through Thursday and 12:00am. and 6:00am Friday and Saturday."

Please shower before using the hot tub. No pets, spilled alcohol, excessive lotion/sunscreen, bubble bath, or foreign objects in the hot tub. Close the cover when not in use. Any hot tub non-compliance that requires a drain and fill after your departure will result in a maintenance fee of $75.00.

Outside of quiet hours, please refrain from yelling or playing loud music outdoors.

Please keep doors and unscreened windows closed as much as possible.

Please do not connect security cameras to our wifi without informing us first.

Please do not trespass on our neighbor's property, porches, etc.

- "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lost Lake Lodge. The property was very cute and the location felt very private. It was easy to relax on the rockers on the front porch. Two areas for improvement from my view. 1. The Wi-Fi was not usable which normally would not be a big deal but I was suppose to finish some work during our trip and was unable to do that at the cabin and this also rendered the television useless. That wouldn’t stop me from booking again, I just wish I had known. The other surprise was that the bathroom door was not a full door. The top 20% of the door was open, my partner and I prefer a bit more privacy when using the facilities if you know what I mean. I would still absolutely book this cabin again, but felt those two things should be mentioned because I would’ve liked to know those things before I rented the first time. Overall it was a great home base for our trip. We visited Knoxville, Gatlinburg, Pigeons Forge, Foothills Parkway (10 minutes away) and the Great Smoky mountains National Park. We saw plenty of deer, birds and squirrels through the 4 glass doors that run along the front of the cabin and the blinds were easy to close at the end of the night when it was time for bed. My now fiancé and I would both felt that the rental was a value for the money. The host was very accessible and got back to us pretty quickly."

Guests have access to the entire main level of the home. Everything is there for you to use. The unfinished basement is not accessible to guests at this time, but there is a pass-through to the hot tub through the basement.

The house is tucked away just off the main road, providing peace and quiet. The neighborhood is on a gravel loop with lots of privacy.

Our road is a loop; we are much closer to the side GPS brings you on than the other. Service is spotty closer to the house, so please remember to save our directions and your door code before arriving!

Enjoy yourselves! Our amenities are for you to sit outside and relax 24/7, but please do so quietly. Our quiet hours are between 11pm-6am to help preserve the serenity of the woods for our neighbors.

Please shower before using the hot tub. No pets, spilled alcohol, excessive lotion/sunscreen, bubble bath, or foreign objects in the hot tub. Close the cover when not in use. Any hot tub non-compliance that requires a drain and fill after your departure will result in a maintenance fee of $75.00.

Outside of quiet hours, please refrain from yelling or playing loud music outdoors.

Please keep doors and unscreened windows closed as much as possible. We are located in the woods, so bugs will make their way inside if given the chance.

Please do not connect security cameras to our wifi without informing us first.

Pets: We love animals, and welcome pets on a case-by-case basis. Our pet fee is charged through the platform at the time of booking when you add pet guests to your reservation. If you need to add a pet to your reservation, please submit an alteration request or reach out and we can send you an alteration request :)

Our home is just 20 min from White Tail Ski Resort and Mercersburg Academy. For you history buffs, we are less than an hour to Gettysburg and Harper's Ferry. Antietam Battlefield is just twenty minutes away. It also is equidistant between Harrisburg, Washington DC and Baltimore MD, approximately an hour to each. You’ll love my place because of the scenic golf course, quiet neighborhood and beautiful landscape. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers. Dogs are fine.

The Mayapple loft is your completely private glamping getaway with beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Enjoy the fire pit and vast view of the starry night sky or sheltered patio area with BBQ and solo campfire stove. Then slip into the adjustable bed in the loft complete with comfy organic mattress, bamboo sheets and duvet cover, sit back with a cup of tea or take an outdoor shower and enjoy the spectacular birds eye view of the valley (even better in the winter) An additional folding mattress is available for downstairs upon request. Lupin our husky mix and his fluffy friend Sasha will likely greet you, let me know if you are afraid of dogs and I will keep them in but are the sweetest and keep the wildlife away. Lupin just likes to hear his own voice so barks to say hello :/ and Finn our fluffy kitty will probably be happy to guide you along the trails. Conveniently located in the middle of a National Park on the Blue Ridge Parkway just down road from the Cascade waterfalls, the Mountain to Sea trail (at the top of the driveway), the New River for rafting and cute little towns like Todd, Boone, West Jefferson and Blowing Rock.

You will have access to the bathroom and shower with private entrance at the main log cabin house and use of the microwave on the porch anytime day or night. Feel free to explore the bamboo forest and logging trails. We also have other tiny cabins that we rent if you would like to coordinate with a friend.

Other things to note
A couple things you should know…This is basically a spectacular glamping experience (not a hotel) in a well built 12x12x12 cabin with a sleeping loft (low ceilings upstairs, I can provide a folding mattress to put downstairs if you would prefer) and lots of windows. It is located in the center of a National Park so there are wild animals but our super sweet dog Lupin, who I often let run free to patrol the border, does a great job of keeping them off of our land. (let me know if you are afraid of dogs and would like me to keep him in) we love the bees and pollinators so I plant wildflowers and do not mow much on the greater property. The ladder to the loft is steep so always face the ladder and hold onto the rail when going up or down. We have a small gas grill, mini fridge, (microwave available on the porch of the main house) egg cooker, electric kettle, press pot for coffee, lights, heater, basic cooking needs (oil, salt, pepper, tea, coffee, foil etc.) a campfire circle and a low flow RV toilet. (We have temporary but clean porta john, better than digging a hole in the wood 🤣)There is not running water in the cabin but plenty of drinking water is provided and there is a hose and outdoor shower(I turn this off in the winter) in the patio area. Everything you need should be provided, just bring your own food and any extras you might like. Ask if you would like suggestions about what to cook. A conventional bathroom and shower with running water are nearby at the main house with your own private entrance and is available anytime day or night. The driveway is gravel and a bumpy mountain road with natural speed bumps so take it slow. Be sure that you get detailed directions from me because map apps may not find us. If there is snow you will need 4wheel drive, please check with me about conditions. A couple years ago we suffered a freak tornado (first one ever in this area) so we have had to do a lot of clean up but on the up side it opened up the view and a perfect spot to build this tiny cabin. We are still ironing out some details so please let me know if you have any suggestions. The power in the tiny cabin is a bit limited since it’s glamping but works fine and the heaters keep it cozy and warm in the winter. Fans and air flow keep it cool in the summer.
