Our Property ; Sapphire 535 is open and airy in the summer and warm and cosy in the off season. You can't help but relax in this award winning eco designed space. The best value for money on the island. Nothing but trees and the Sandy Straight are in your view from the balcony. Inside it's all island comfort. Everything you need for R&R or unwinding from a day hiking or touring around the island. The master bedroom is roomy and bright with a comfy queen size bed and plenty or cupboard and storage space. The second bedroom is a loft with a queen size bed. A built in ladder gets you to the private nest and it has plenty of room for the occupants. There are two pull out couches in the living room just in case you get those drop in guests. We do however recommend that you are comfortable with children using a fixed place ladder for access - we suggest children that are 8+ - but that is up to you. Linen and towels is provided.
Guest Access ; Several 3 car parking bays are within a short walk to the villa. We are a 5-minute walk to reception and the resorts amenities (as the villa is elevated in the tree line the walk does have a manageable hill in it). Depending on how you are travelling you will need to book a barge for your vehicle or the ferry if you are walking. All the resort facilities are at your disposal once you get here. Access your Villa via a lockbox and start your vacation once you are past the door. K'gari (Fraser) Island is a wonderful and special place and we are proud to make it available to you. We suggest you do a little research by searching K'gari Island, Queensland and Kingfisher Bay Resort so you can develop your own opinion and plan on how to enjoy it. There are walking trails, beaches, fishing and sports and recreational activities all at your fingertips. You can book any of them at the resort. Friendly informative rangers and island tours are all available for enjoyment. Regardless if you adventure, exercise or exercise your right to just relax you can't go wrong doing it in our villa or any of the villas in the resort. A Few Other Details ; Getting to the villa - Once you arrive at the resort drive to the one and only roundabout and head up the hill. The second road in the right is William Edwardson Lane. Go up William Edwardson Lane. Villa 535 is in the second set of villas. Park in one of the many bays and head to 535 . It is about a 30 metre walk from the parking space with no steps. Keys - the keys are in a lock box on a post near the door. We will provide you the code prior to checking in. BBQ - there is a BBQ and utensils however it is BYO Gas Bottle. The villa is air conditioned so if you want to keep it cool and comfortable on hot days (or warm on the rare cold ones) we suggest you keep the doors and windows closed to keep it at the temperature you like.

From Inskip Point, you will travel for 55kms along golden beaches or from Hervey Bay you will travel through ever-changing vegetation till you reach Happy Valley.
Happy Valley is very laid-back but with all the mod cons you need. .
With Happy Valley being so central on the island, your days will be filled with endless activities. From swimming in the refreshing waters of Eli Creek, or picnicing at Central Station and Lake McKenzie. Then of course there are days of just throwing a line in along the beaches to catch the night's dinner. During the humpback whale migration, you can spend hours sitting on the beach just watching these majestic mammals frolicking & breaching. Truly a spectacular sight.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE BEFORE YOU BOOK:

1. You must provide your OWN LINEN ( sheets & towel). A top & bottom sheet + pillowcase must be supplied for each bed used. THIS IS A HYGIENE REQUIREMENT. Should you decide to not bring linen, your booking will be cancelled.
ABSOLUTELY NO SWAGS OR SLEEPING BAGS ARE TO BE USED AS LINEN.

2. This unit is perfect for a family or group of 5 people only. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to that number. It is NOT a party unit and you are required to respect your neighbours and keep noise to a minimum after 10p.m.

3. The unit runs on a solar system with battery storage with a generator back-up. Only the electrical appliances that the unit supplies are to be used. TOTALLY BANNED are hairdryers, coffee machines, car fridges, frypans etc. Should these appliances be used, the system will definitely overload resulting in the units having no power. The on-site managers will have to be called out for which you could be charged a 'call-out' fee before power is restored.
MEDICAL EQUIPMENT , PHONE & COMPUTER CHARGERS are exempt.

4. SELF CLEAN. The unit is provided in a comfortable & clean manner. As there are no cleaners, you are expected to leave the unit 'as you find it'. We provide all cleaning equipment & vacuum cleaner.
All rubbish is to be removed & disposed of at the tip on departure.

5. The person making the booking must be one of the residing guests. A registration form is to be filled out at the shop on arrival before keys are issued.

6. We have on-site managers who live close by who are easily contactable & readily available should you need their assistance.

WORLD HERITAGE

K'gari/Fraser Island

"Stretching over 120 kilometres along the southern coast of Queensland, K'gari (184 000 hectares) is the largest sand island in the world. It was inscribed on the World Heritage List in recognition of its outstanding natural universal values:

as an outstanding example representing significant ongoing ecological and biological processes; and as an example of superlative natural phenomena.

The island is a place of exceptional beauty, with its long uninterrupted white beaches flanked by strikingly coloured sand cliffs, its majestic tall rainforests and numerous freshwater lakes of crystal clear waters.

The massive sand deposits that make up the island are a continuous record of climatic and sea level changes over the past 700 000 years.

K'gari features complex dune systems that are still evolving, and an array of dune lakes that is exceptional in its number, diversity and age.

The highest dunes on the island reach up to 240 metres above sea level. Forty perched dune lakes, half the number of such lakes in the world, can be found on the island. These lakes are formed when organic matter, such as leaves, bark and dead plants, gradually build up and harden in depressions created by the wind.

The island also has several barrage lakes, formed when moving sand dunes block a watercourse, and 'window' lakes, formed when a depression exposes part of the regional water table.

A surprising variety of vegetation types grow on the island, ranging from coastal heath to subtropical rainforests. It is the only place in the world where tall rainforests are found growing on sand dunes at elevations of over 200 metres.

The low 'wallum' heaths on the island are of particular evolutionary and ecological significance, providing magnificent wildflower displays in spring and summer.

Birds are the most abundant form of animal life on the island with over 350 species being recorded. It is a particularly important site for migratory wading birds which use the area as a resting place during their long flights between southern Australia and their breeding grounds in Siberia.

A species of particular interest is the endangered ground parrot, which is found in the wallum heathlands.

Few mammal species are present on the island. The most common are bats, particularly flying foxes. The dingo population on the island is regarded as the most pure strain of dingoes remaining in eastern Australia.

The lakes on K'gari are poor habitats for fish and other aquatic species because of the purity, acidity and low nutrient levels of the water. Some frog species are adapted to survive in this difficult environment. Appropriately called 'acid frogs', they tolerate the acidic condition characteristic of the K'gari lakes and swamps

Called K'gari by its Aboriginal inhabitants, the island reveals Aboriginal
occupation of at least 5 000 years, although it is possible that further
archaeological work may indicate earlier occupation. Early European
reports suggested that Fraser Island was heavily populated by Aboriginal people, but subsequent research indicates that there was a small permanent population of 400-600 that swelled seasonally to perhaps in the winter months when seafood resources were particularly abundant. K'gari contains many sites of archaeological, social and spiritual significance. Middens, artefact scatters, fish traps, scarred trees and campsites bear witness to the lives of the original inhabitants. European contact, initiated by Matthew Flinders in 1802, was sporadic and limited to explorers, escaped convicts and shipwreck survivors."

The villa is self-contained with full kitchen and laundry facilities, featuring washing machine, dryer, deep tub and a clothes drying rack. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and also includes microwave and electric fry-pan. There is laundry liquid and dish-washing liquid supplied in sachets for your first initial few days. Please note the villa does not have any cooking supplies or condiments as the distant owner is not able to replace or replenish these items. The walkways in this environment are spectacular, - a hilltop lookout or longer coastal bank walk are within easy reach of the villa.

Guest Interaction:
Guests who stay in Sensational Satinay Villa 633, will be treated as any other resort guest with access to Reception or Housekeeping for any queries and all other resort facilities including tours, restaurants, the shop and beauty spa. Individual WiFi packages can be arranged with Reception on arrival for a small fee. Free WiFi is available in the reception area. Pool towels are available from reception.

The villa is privately owned and the owner lives out of town. While staying in the villa all queries must be directed to the resort. Phone '9' to reach reception from the villa phone. This provides access to housekeeping and maintenance departments or the porter or ranger service should you require them during your stay. The local indigenous Butchalla people are the original inhabitants of K'gari (Fraser Island) and they maintain a strong connection to the island. Getting to and around the island:
A vehicle barge takes guests and visitors from Riverheads near Hervey Bay on a 45 minute cruise across the Great Sandy Straits to the Kingfisher Bay Resort. This is booked separately through the resort. From there guests can check into the villa and relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounding by foot for the duration of their stay or use their own or hired 4x4 vehicle to explore the vast K'gari, (Fraser Island) environment.
Tours of the island are also available and can be booked through reservations or reception.
There are sealed roads around the resort and available parking up above the villa. The roads around the island are unsealed and can vary in condition. Check available websites for more information on this. The resort can also offer advise on 4 wheel driving on K'gari, (Fraser Island). 4 wheel drive vehicles are for hire at the resort but there is a need to book ahead in busy times.

2. This unit is perfect for a family or group of 4 people only. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to that number. It is NOT a party unit and you are required to respect your neighbours and keep noise to a minimum after 10p.m.

3. The unit runs on a solar system with battery storage with a generator back-up. Only the electrical appliances that the unit supplies are to be used. TOTALLY BANNED are hairdryers, coffee machines, car fridges, frypans etc. Should these appliances be used, the system will definitely overload resulting in the units having no power. The on-site managers will have to be called out for which you could be charged a 'call-out' fee before power is restored.

MEDICAL EQUIPMENT , PHONE & COMPUTER CHARGERS ARE EXEMPT.

4. SELF CLEAN. The unit is provided in a clean & comfortable manner. As there are no cleaners, you are expected to leave the unit 'as you find it'. We provide all cleaning equipment & vacuum cleaner.

5. The person making the booking must be one of the residing guests. A registration form is to be filled out at the shop on arrival before keys are issued.

Fraser View is located in Second Valley of Happy Valley on the Eastern side of Fraser Island and is only150 metres to the beach. It is the perfect central location to access all of the attractions and features of beautiful World Heritage Listed Fraser Island.

Fraser View comprises only two units, was renovated in 2011 and has a modern open style.

Fraser View Unit 1 is fully self contained.

Unit 1 has two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom, the dormitory, has a queen bed and two sets of single offset bunk beds so this room offers beds for six people. There is also at least one trundle bed in addition. The bunks are designed so the head of the person on the lower bunk is not below the upper bunk.

On the ocean side there is a covered verandah with dining table and chairs.
There is also a large covered area on the western side with the gas barbeque and a dining table for those times when the south easterly is blowing.

Fraser View conisists of two units and is an ideal property for two families. The separate units allow privacy for each family whilst allowing the two families to share meals together on either the verandah on the ocean side or the covered area adjoining the barbecue.

Being Fraser Island power is supplied by a solar system that charges batteries providing 24 hour power through an inverter. This does limit what appliances can be operated. The power system will run chargers for laptops, cameras and the like but please do not bring hair dryers.

Linen is not supplied and most guests choose to bring their own linen. We do require that linen must be used. We define linen as two sheets and pillow cases and does not include sleeping bags. Linen can be hired by prior arrangement through the Fraser Island Retreat. Hired linen is collected with the house keys. Failure to use linen causes us to incur substantial additional costs which will be backcharged to the tenant. We also reserve the right to cancel a booking that does not use linen.

Accessible only by 4WD vehicles, Fraser Island Retreat offers bungalows with a private balcony boasting sea or garden views. Just 2 minutes’ walk from Eastern Beach, guests can enjoy a swimming pool and dine at the onsite bar and bistro. The retreat is a 10-minute drive from Eli Creek, the largest freshwater creek on the East coast of Australia. The Maheno Shipwreck is a 20-minute drive away. All bungalows offer fans, a fridge and an electric kettle. They also have an private bathroom with a shower. Towels and linen are provided. Villa by the Beach is a Satinay villa located at Kingfisher Bay Resort.

Guests staying are offered full access to the facilities of the nearby resort (Kingfisher Bay Resort), including three salt water pools, guided ranger tours, restaurants, bars, tennis courts, children's playground, 4WD hire, bakery, shops and a spa for those seeking a pamper and more.

Excellent fishing can be had from the jetty, bring your own gear or hire it. Segway PT adventures, stand up paddle boards, kayaks and vu boards. Go explore the many walking tracks and diverse habitats on the island by 4WD, from the sand dunes, fresh lakes to the tall Satinay trees in the beautiful rainforests. Bird watchers will enjoy the wide variety of birds, not having to venture too far from the villa to see them. Enjoy the majestic hump back whales as they play within the waters of the Fraser Coast between August and October.

Enjoy the tranquillity of Satinay Villa 639, situated at the very top of the Satinay Villas, Kingfisher Bay on World Heritage listed K'gari (Fraser Island). Enjoy glimpses of the beach and sea views from the expansive balcony whilst hearing nothing but birdsong from the wide range of native birds inhabiting the area. This recently refurbished, 2 bedroom villa is luxuriously comfortable, sleeping up to 6 people and is ideal for a family, a group of friends, or a romantic getaway for 2. As the Villa is on the western end of the villas, it transitions seamlessly into the bushland, allowing you to enjoy the serenity of the location.

The Villa offers guests the use of a Barbeque in the Villa’s outdoor dining area for those nights when you don’t want to dine out, and don’t want to cook in the fully equipped kitchen. Inside the Villa is fully air conditioned and all the windows and doors are screened. The villa is also equipped with child friendly plates, bowls and cups so guests with young children don't need to stress about the potential for breakages with younger children.

The master bedroom has a king -sized bed, whilst the second bedroom has 2 king single beds. A sofa bed is located in the lounge area to sleep an extra 2 people. Use of the sofa bed incurs a cost of $65 per night due to extra cleaning. The flat screen television, Foxtel and music player add to the quality of your stay. The Villa also has full laundry facilities.

We have moved away from the use of quilt covers on the beds and are using a triple sheet system which sees the linen completely replaced for each stay. In the event that the weather is cool, there are additional blankets in the cupboard for guest use.

A 3 minute stroll takes you down a scenic path through the bush to the beach. You can also take a stroll through the Resort reception and pool complex to the stunning Wallum area with lagoon, and onto the beach front near Sunset Bar. The walks in the resort are spectacular, with a hilltop lookout walk, or a walk down to the historic Makenzies Jetty within easy reach of the Villa. The track to the historic Z Special Forces historic site is also within easy reach of the Villa.

Guests have full use of the Resort facilities including restaurants, pools, heated spa and tour bookings. There is a range of activities available and you are free to participate in as many or as few of the activities as you choose. Some of the tours and/or activities do incur a cost and reception can provide you with the costs and make bookings for you.

The roads within the Resort are sealed and you will only require a 4WD if you intend going outside of the Resort area. If you are feeling adventurous and have your own 4WD, there are endless options to your Fraser Island adventure, go fishing, boating or whale watching, your options are endless.

If you don’t have your own 4WD and would like to explore the Island, the Beauty Spots Day Tour is very popular and allows you to relax whilst an experienced K'gari (Fraser Island) local takes care of all the driving, pointing out some of the best features of this World Heritage Listed island. If you would like to take the Beauty Spots Day trip during your stay, it is recommended that you pre-book as these fill quickly and you might not be able to get your preferred day if booking during your stay.

Between July and October each year, Humpback whales migrate to the warmer waters of the Great Barrier Reef to give birth. On their return journey, the whales and their calves spend time resting in Platypus Bay. Whales have occasionally been seen off the beach in front of the resort. Whale watching tours depart from Kingfisher Bay between August and late October. If you want to go whale watching during the season, it is best to pre-book to reserve your spot as these tours are also very popular and fill quickly.

Mobile phones work on the island although we cannot guarantee service with all service providers. The Resort has access to wifi for an additional cost payable directly to the resort. Mobile data does work at the villa, although the speeds may be slower then the mainland and we are unable to guarantee access to the network your phone is with. We do have NBN at the villa, however this is not guaranteed to provide service as this is provided by a third party and is a satellite connection.

A security deposit is payable on check in at the resort. The security deposit is $100 per night plus an additional $200 security deposit up to a maximum of $500 per stay. This is a pre-authorisation on your credit card and can be paid in cash if you do not have a credit card. Provided there are no outstanding charges at the end of your stay the security deposit is refunded. The security deposit is a requirement imposed by the Resort and is not charged by Tranquil Satinay Villa directly.

Featuring quiet street views, Orchid Beach Apartments in Fraser Island provides accommodations, a garden, and barbecue facilities. Providing free private parking, the 3-star apartment is a 19-minute walk from Orchid Beach. Guests can access the apartment via private entrance. Offering sea or garden views, each unit comes with a kitchen, a flat-screen TV and DVD player, wardrobe, a washing machine, and a private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. There's a seating and a dining area in all units. You can play billiards at the apartment, and the area is popular for fishing and hiking. Hervey Bay Airport is 66 miles away.

Sundaise Satinay 636 is one of the highest of the Satinay Villa’s... being located on the hill gives amazing glimpse of the sea while you enjoy your morning cuppa or sneaky drink on the deck in the afternoon. Please be aware there are quite a few stairs to and from the villa.
Privately owned, this villa is owned by a family of 5, who know the value of having the right space for a family.

Code for lock box (which contains key) will be provided within 24 hours prior to your arrival. Please make sure key is returned to lock box, and locked up - at end of your stay.

We provide bed linen and bathroom towels, and beach towels.
We will supply a small amount of coffee pods, coffee, tea, sugar and small milk. A supply of toilet paper (1 per day).
Additional supplies can be brought by you or purchased from the local store.
Gas bottle for BBQ provided, refills can also be purchased from local store (we will reimburse upon receipt).

In June 2023 we gave our Villa a facelift with a new lounge suite, new smart TV’s in the main bedroom and lounge room.

The kitchen is fully equipped and has a microwave and full size fridge/freezer, as well as a Nespresso coffee machine, with a supply of pods for your stay. Tea, coffee, sugar and small milk also available.

Sleeping comfortably for 6 people there is 1 x Queen size bed, smart TV and wardrobe in the main bedroom, the second bedroom has 1 double bed, bunk beds and wardrobe (Fresh linen provided for both bedrooms). Each room is also air-conditioned.

In the living room you find a Large flat screen smart TV with foxtel and bluray player and selection of movies . The couch seats 6 people. Optus wifi included.

The outdoor settings allow 6 people to sit comfortably on the deck for dinner, and then move to the outdoor lounge to enjoy the serenity or sunset over the bay.

The bathroom has a Shower, spa bath and hairdryer (fresh bath towels supplied). Pool towels also included for your stay.

The villa has a front load Washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board. Drying-rack and pegs also available.

Note: you do not need a 4x4 if you don’t plan to leave the resort. The Barge services from River Heads and lands at the resort . The resort roads are all bitumen.

Kingfisher Bay Resort facilities include restaurants, bars, swimming pools, heated spa, a general store for daily essentials if needed and a petrol station. The resort also offers paddle boarding, guided walks, canoe tours and more. You can also hire a 4 wheel drive and explore the island, including Central Station, Lake McKenzie, Champagne Pools, the Maheno and more.

I assume this would be a resort issue but just something to bear in mind when carrying stuff to and from the car. Hosts were very responsive with their communication and we would definitely stay again. "

Villa Cooloola Calm is a 2 bedroom self-contained holiday villa located in the award winning “Kingfisher Bay Resort”, located on the western side of K’gari. This villa is an ideal location elevated above the resort allowing you to enjoy the beach (a three minute walk) or discover the amazing scenery of K’gari by 4WD or Tour Coach.
This villa sleeps 4 but can be increased to sleep 5 with a temporary cot bed at a small additional cost (please request in the booking). The villa has a queen size bed in the main bedroom with two single beds in the second bedroom. The bathroom has a large shower which is easy to use for families with children. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, oven, microwave, gas stove and everything else you may need. This villa has high-speed internet access, with Smart TV in the living area. Free parking is available outside the villa.
As a guest you have access to all the resort facilities including 3 saltwater pools and spa, tennis courts and other water facilities (some of which will incur a cost). There are also a number of award-winning restaurants and the recently renovated "The Sandbar".
There is a junior Eco Rangers program available during most school holidays and is run by the resort allowing adults to enjoy the resort restaurant and bars.
A 2WD can be used to access Kingfisher Bay resort via the ferry/barge with bookings made through Sealink K'gari. The space
Open and airy in the summer and warm and cosy in the off season. You can't help but relax in this award winning eco designed space. The best value for money on the island. Nothing but trees and the Sandy Straight are in your view from the balcony. Inside it's all island comfort. Everything you need for R&R or unwinding from a day hiking or touring around the island. The second bedroom is a loft with a queen size bed. A built in ladder gets you to the private nest and it has plenty of room for the occupants. We do however recommend that you are comfortable with children using a fixed place ladder for access - we suggest children that are 8+ - but that is up to you.

Guest access
Several 3 car parking bays are within a short walk to the villa. We are a 5-minute walk to reception and the resorts amenities (as the villa is elevated in the tree line the walk does have a manageable hill in it). Depending on how you are travelling you will need to book a barge for your vehicle or the ferry if you are walking. All the resort facilities are at your disposal once you get here.

Other things to note
Getting to the villa - Once you arrive at the resort drive to the one and only roundabout and head up the hill. The second road in the right is William Edwardson Lane. Go up William Edwardson Lane. Villa 535 is in the second set of villas. Park in one of the many bays and head to 535 . It is about a 30 metre walk from the parking space with no steps.
Keys - the keys are in a lock box on a post near the door. We will provide you the code prior to checking in.
BBQ - there is a BBQ and utensils however it is BYO Gas Bottle.
The villa is air conditioned so if you want to keep it cool and comfortable on hot days (or warm on the rare cold ones) we suggest you keep the doors and windows closed to keep it at the temperature you like,

Our family holiday home at Happy Valley on Fraser Island. Great place to stay on the eastern beach about half way up the island, so handy base to explore K'gari.

The space
Fraser Island is a remote location and presents unique requirements. Before booking your stay you must be fully aware of the limitations and circumstances living "offgrid" and in a remote location. Its our family holiday home, not a inner city penthouse. Power, Water & Facilities are limited, and some basic knowledge of the systems is required.
Max 2 Families - with no more than 8 people total. There is only 1 toilet and 1 shower and limited power outlets for cpap etc. No you cant bring swags, no you cant sleep in a tent in the yard. The house offgrid systems CAN NOT handle more than 8 so please don't ask.
If you turn up with more than 8, I'm sorry but you will be asked to leave :-(

There are items you must bring with you that are not available once you are onsite. Please read the list carefully to ensure the property is suitable for your stay.
1. POWER - Supplied entirely by solar and batteries "offgrid" so only appliances already in the house may be used (USB's for Phone/Tablet charging are provided) ABSOLUTELY NO HAIR DRYERS or ENGEL TYPE FRIDGES ARE TO BE PLUGGED INTO THE HOUSE POWER. CPAP, phone and laptop charging ok. Limited power outlets in bedrooms so call to discuss if required.
2. LINEN - Beds have a doona and pillow supplied. You must bring queen bed linen (sheets and pillowcase) for upstairs bedrooms and 1 double and a single for kids room.
3. FOOD & DRINKS - Bring EVERYTHING. The shop has very limited basic items only. Items are at island prices.
4. PROBLEMS - If any problems arise, (Power issues, water issues, gas issues etc) you must be aware and accept the remoteness of Happy Valley and Fraser Island in general. Basically, what we are saying is there is no 24 concierge or reception available.
5. COMMUNICATIONS - Only Telstra service is available at Happy Valley. 3G internet is sketchy at best. There is Starlink, but being Satellite can also be sketchy.
6. FACILITIES - Gas Stove and Oven. Gas BBQ on verandah. A few old games like monolopy and game of life. There is a TV with VAST Satellite & a DVD player. TV has USB and HDMI and will play most Hard Drives if you have one. Fish cleaning bench.

Tranquil Satinay Villa is the highest of the Satinay Villas, located along a board walk, a short distance from the restaurants and swimming pools of the Resort. As a guest, you will have complete access to the Resort facilities and activities. The Villa is fully air conditioned and fully screened. The thing that you will notice the most about your stay in the Villa is the tranquility.

We have now installed free wifi in the villa. We are currently one of the only Villas with WiFi access for guests directly from the Villa. This is a separate service to the free wifi offered by the resort. Whilst this service is offered at no cost to guests, we cannot guarantee the service will be available as this is provided by a third party.

Refurnished with new furniture including a King Bed. A new King Single bed has been installed in the second bedroom. Now 2 king singles instead of the bunk bed.

A sofa bed can be used to accommodate an additional 2 guests (fee applies).

A Nespresso Vertuo Plus coffee machine is available for guest use. If you wish to take advantage of the machine, you will need to provide your own coffee pods - the machine will only accept vertuo pods (dome shaped). Nespresso Classic capsules are not compatible with the machine.

Once you are at the Villa you will be met with an expansive deck area with an outdoor dining setting. The Villa has a fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor dining area allowing you to dine on the balcony whilst enjoying the late autumn and early winter weather for those times when you don’t want to dine out at one of the restaurants in the Resort. If you don’t want to dine outside, there is a dining room which seats 6. Inside the Villa is fully air conditioned and all the windows and doors are screened.

The lounge room has a 3 seat sofa bed and 2 seat sofa to comfortably seat 5 guests. There is a flat screen TV with Foxtel, and CD and music options. The dining area provides views of the native banksia trees and other native flora through the almost floor to ceiling windows. All your dining in needs are met with the kitchen providing a gas stove and oven. Cooking utensils are provided, as are all your cutlery and crockery needs.

The bathroom is fitted with a spa bath and shower over the bath. All towels are provided and you will receive tokens for beach towels that can be collected from the Resort Reception, so that you can enjoy the pool facilities at the main resort, or the more secluded pool located near the Sand Bar.

The main bedroom has a King-sized bed, dressing table/writing desk, and wardrobe. The second bedroom has two king single beds. Extra blankets and pillows are available in the wardrobe. The sofa can be converted into an extra bed (a $65 charge per night applies for setup and extra linen).

What you will notice most is the absolute tranquility, you will hear nothing but birdsong as you relax in this small piece of paradise.

Guests are able to access the Resort and Reception Desk via a telephone in the Villa for any information that they require during their stay.

The villa has an internet connection (WiFi) and guests will receive the login details when booking is confirmed. As the villa is in a remote area, the internet connection has limited download speeds (12 mbps max) and we are unable to guarantee connectivity as the service uses satellite NBN. Mobile phone data usually works from the villa although we cannot guarantee reliable connection due to factors beyond our control. Access to wifi through the resort can be arranged through contacting reception.

Guest access
As a guest at Tranquil Satinay Villa you have use of the entire Villa and access to all the Resort Facilities.

The roads within the Resort are sealed and you are welcome to take your vehicle to the Resort. You only need a 4WD if you plan on leaving the roads within the Resort. If travelling in a vehicle, we recommend that you park on the side of the road immediately behind the Villa and walk down the Boardwalk. As a guest of the Villa you have access to porterage services which can be booked at the time of booking your barge transfer.

Other things to note
There are three restaurants to choose from if you wish to eat out. The Sunset Bar has snack food and drinks available if you wish to sit on the jetty and take in the spectacular view of Hervey Bay. There are 3 swimming pools and of course the beach to stroll along, all within minutes from your Villa. As the Villa is situated on the Western beach of Fraser Island, the waters here are quiet and calm, with spectacular sunsets. Join other guests at the Sunset Bar at the end of any day that is fine and clear to enjoy an anti-pasto platter, cheese and wine platter, or a prawn platter. These can be enjoyed with a beer, wine or cocktail while photographing this daily event. Platters can be ordered by contacting reception before 4 pm on the day that you require the platter.

There are several walks within the Resort grounds, or if you are feeling more adventurous you might like to hike to the spectacular Lake Mackenzie. Check with reception for directions and to ensure that this walk is open before you leave.

For guests with children aged between 5 and 14, why not consider booking them into the Junior Eco Rangers session which will keep them occupied for 3 hours while you simply relax, or maybe you could book a session at the Day Spa to pamper yourself. For those wanting to wind down and enjoy dinner out, knowing that the children are safely entertained, there is a night session for the Junior Eco Rangers on some nights. The Junior Eco Rangers session is a fun and informative 3 hour session that runs on weekends and during school holiday periods. Reception can provide information on costs and bookings.

The space

For those morning sunrises we provide complementary tea / coffee pods and a little milk in the fridge if that's your preference. After coming back from watching the sunset set at the pier, come and relax with a shower or bath that turns into a spa. This villa can sleep up to 6 people and comes with fresh linen and towels for each guest, complementary soaps, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and some toiletries.

Our lounge room offers oversized comfortable couches for you to lay and watch the 65inch smart TV and enjoy our free WiFi. This villa has a deck with views of Kingfisher Bay and the ocean, plenty of outdoor furniture and gas BBQ. No need to worry about packing clothes for each day you come to visit, we have a fully set up laundry including washing liquid & dryer for your convenience.

Holiday Home is set in Kingfisher Bay Resort but you don't need a FWD to get there as the resort has full bitumen, but if you do have one then the whole of the island is available for you to explore.

Full access to all resort facilities including 3 pools and heated spa. Restaurants and cocktail bar within the resort available to you.

Alleigh Way is at Holiday Rental at Orchid Beach on Fraser Island. Fraser Island is a heritage-listed island located along the southern coast of Queensland, Australia, approximately 200 kilometres (120 mi) north of Brisbane. It is a locality within the Fraser Coast Region. The island is considered to be the largest sand island in the world at 1840 km².

You can catch a barge to Fraser Island from Inskip Point (Near Rainbow Beach) or from River Heads (Hervey Bay). We recommend you have a 4WD.

There is only Telstra phone reception at Orchid Beach, no Optus phone reception.

The space
Our property looks like a pretty basic shed from the road, but it's been built out like a home on the inside.

We have 2 Queen bedrooms, and 2 bunks in the main living area (1 double, 3 singles). All spaces have ceiling fans.

Our kitchen is fully equipped and includes a gas stove, griller, oven, microwave, air fryer, toaster, kettle, sandwich press, slow cooker, bread maker, all your crockery and cutlery, etc.

We have a shower, 2 toilets and a separate laundry with a 10kg top loader washing machine, second fridge/freezer and a chest freezer.

Guest access
You will have access to the main house at the top of the block. The other sheds on the block are utilised by owners for storage. On very rare occasions, owners or servicemen may access the other sheds on the property during your stay for maintenance such as mowing or repairs, etc. Although we will alert you in advance.

Other things to note
We are on septic, so please only flush bodily fluids and toilet paper. Any foreign items will clog our system.

Whilst we welcome families with infant-toddler children, we are unable to supply a porta-cot, although we do have a booster seat/high chair available for your convenience. We do have 2 top bunks, so PLEASE use top bunks with caution. They do have railings, but your child's safety is your responsibility. We also only have a shower and no bath tub.

Telstra is the only network with coverage in these parts. We do not have WiFi available, so bring your own if need be. We have a smart TV you can use if you BYO Telstra internet.

BELOW ARE OUR RULES! Please familiarise yourselves with these before your stay! By booking, you agree to the below statements.

Guest shall be liable for any damages caused by his or her own actions or by any other individual the guest otherwise allows into the accommodation during their stay.

Guest agrees that they will have no more than 9 individuals (including children) or 6 adults staying overnight at the property. No extra guests are allowed to utilise our property as a campsite. Anyone planning on staying in their swags, roof top tents, etc. will be counted as guests.

Guest agrees to disengage 4WD (when possible) when driving on grass and take care not to drive over septic trench or damage sprinklers.

Guest understands the property is completely off-grid, we rely on solar power, batteries and generator as backup. When solar is scarce, the generator may kick in. Care is to be taken to ensure no excess power is used on overcast or rainy days.

Guest is aware they will need to remove their own rubbish during and after their stay. There is a dump located at Orchid beach.

Guest is aware that Fraser Island is accessible only by 4x4 and they will need to arrange vehicle permits and will need to pay for their own barge fares. You can book vehicle permits online or by visiting the Manta Ray barge and permit office or the Shell Service Station to purchase vehicle access permits and manta ray barge tickets. You can also pay for your barge ticket after boarding the barge, there is an EFTPOS surcharge, so it’s preferable to have cash ready.

Guest is aware smoking inside is prohibited, guests must discard of cigarette butts correctly! NOT on the ground or in gardens!

Guest is aware the tap water is bore water, whilst it is drinkable, some people may have a sensitive stomach which may not agree with it. It is recommended you bring your own drinking water for your own peace of mind. We have an additional (unfiltered) rainwater tank beside the house, this is our personal drinking water tank. If you are going to use it, please don’t be wasteful.

Guest is aware that dingoes reside on Fraser Island and whilst there is a dingo fence being erected around Orchid beach township, parents are to remain vigilant and always keep an eye on their children, especially when out of the fenced zone (if applicable at time of booking). Do not feed or interact with dingoes. Rangers will fine anyone if they are found to be flouting these rules. There are also NO domestic pets permitted on Fraser Island.

Guest is aware Orchid Beach is a remote destination and whilst there is a small shop you can purchase basic supplies from, they do not have everything a normal grocery store has and can quickly run out of stock during peak times.

Guest understands check in is strictly 2pm and check out is strictly 10am regardless of tides.

Guest understands that we do not charge a cleaning fee due to the fact that our cleaner is not a maid. Our cleaner is only available to prepare linen and ensure the property is clean and tidy for guests before their arrival. After guests vacate, she will wash any linen used by guests and alert us of any damage that may have occurred during tenancy. She will not enter the property during your stay. As such, you are responsible for cleaning up after yourself during your stay.

Items guest will need to bring:

• Fitted & top sheets, bath & beach towels and face washers (WE ONLY SUPPLY MATTRESS AND PILLOW PROTECTORS, COMFORTERS, FLOOR MATS AND TEA TOWELS!!!)
• Washing powder/liquid
• Dishwashing detergent and dish cloths
• Toilet paper
• Cleaning products such as spray and wipe, paper towels, etc.
• Personal care product such as toothpaste, hand soaps, body wash, sunscreen, bug guard, etc.
• Fish filleting knives (if required)
• Bin bags, freezer bags, etc.
• All food including coffee, tea, milk, sugar, oils, salt and pepper, etc.

We would love to be able to supply you with the above items, but due to the fact we live 6 hours and a barge fare away from the property, we are unable to keep track of the inventory and we rely on tenant's good will. If items have run out and we've not been notified, we won't know what needs to be replaced.

We do not supply sheets, bath towels or face washers for hygiene and inventory reasons.

Please remember that we utilise the property ourselves when we can, we have personally worked very hard to get the property to where it is today. We hope our guests can treat the property as they would their own so guests can keep enjoying it for years to come.

We understand that sometimes things may break or mistakenly be taken home, if you break something or you realise you've accidentally taken something home with you, please alert us so we can replace the item so no one else has to do without.

No schoolies, please!
