Breakfast is very nice, especially the fruits and the Sri Lankan dishes (if you are up for a salty meal in the morning). But the true value added of this place is the staff. I need to call out especially Kogul. We travel a lot and have rarely met someone that would go above and beyond to try to help us. We had a last minute change of plans and needed to go back to the airport and, even if we had already checked out, Kogul found us a great driver and kept in contact throughout the journey back. So fully recommended the stay here and thanks Kogul for your help!!"

A 20 min walk of brief tuk tuk ride from the station. Reasonably comfortable bed with a private en-suite. The only issue was that one wall of the room is a floor to ceiling window that looks onto the hallway and lets in light from the hall until it is switched off around 11pm. So maybe ask which rooms might be best if you prefer the dark! Air con very good and warm shower. The food is delicious, both breakfast and dinner. Highly recommend the Sri Lankan breakfast tho you have to book it the day before. Very VERY lovely and helpful staff! "

- " Around a 25min Tuk-Tuk journey (400rupees) from Kandy station you will find the quiet Rivorich Hotel. Run by 2 very welcoming staff, the hotel is clean and a welcome relief from the busy city. The rooms are fitted nicely, with clean towels and comfy beds and the all important air conditioning fan combo made for a comfortable night sleep. Breakfast, included in the price, always filled us up for the day and was served at guests chosen time. Top tips: the hotel manager is a great source of knowledge and truly cares for his guests. We were fortunate enough to hire him to drive us to some of the best sites such as Sigiriya and the surrounding temples. He was happy to let us roam and pick us up when needed. I'm not sure he can provide this service in peak times. However, asking his advice and whether he knows a trusted guide or driver will ensure you get a fair price. "

Location from kandy Town is about 2km, but it is so deep inside an area that you won't have phone signals or event street light when it is night. Me and both my parents were given 3 bottles of small mineral water for our 7 night stay at the hotel!! Bathroom shampoo and body shower only been given ONCE! A day have passed and we were still hanging in to this horrible hotel, why waste when we have already paid for it. 2nd day in and we when to srigiya with one of my friends tour(Eco world tours and travel). After a long day we reach back to the hotel and freshent up, left to kandy Town for dinner. After our dinner, we when back to the hotel and this was around 10.30pm. No light from the entrance of the hotel to the 'main lobby', as we reach the door was LOCK!! knocking on the door and calling the hotel land line. After 15 minutes the owner came and open the doors, shouted at us' is already 10pm! '. My parents and I were furious and shouted back at him, HOW CAN YOU LOCK YOUR GUEST OUT!! WE ARE PAYING FOR THE ROOM, WHY DO YOU HAVE A TIME FOR US TO COME BACK TO THE HOTEL??!!. We slept that night and we left for a better hotel the next day. - "Our family of 5 arrived at the villa at 630pm tired and hoping for a good night rest. Pressed the bell and knocked on the door before someone came down from the villa. Realised they werent aware there is a booking for the night's stay! We had to wait for a good one hour before that poor caretaker sort out the stay wt the owner for our booking and then cleaned the rooms. No service recovery and no apologies by the owner at all. Utterly disappointed! "
