- "Myself & my partner stayed here for 2 nights. Unfortunately the photos on the website do not represent the actual rooms that you get. For some reason, the lovely tiled floors in the photos have since been replaced with a dark red, dirty carpet which instantly makes the room feel unclean. The shower head did not prop up. On arrival the toilet seat had dried up urine all over it. The red carpet had dead flies & many black hairs on it. There was often a very strange loud mystery noise that vibrated our room on an evening, it almost sounded like a helicopter kept landing on the roof (which obviously wasn’t the case.) I appreciate white walls are hard to keep clean but the walls were very dirty with a large amount of mould, as shown in the photos. We were looking forward to this hotel due to the reviews and the photos but we were unfortunately very disappointed. On a positive note, the one staff member in the hotel was very accommodating and very kind."

He helped my 87 year old father navigate the steps down to the hotel. We really appreciated his concern. Oatlands is a great choice, we had the cosiness of a period bungalow with access to the larger St.Andrews hotel for meals if we wished. On one occasion after visiting World's End, we opted to dine in the dining room in the bunglow. There is a small wetland area next to the hotel vegetable garden, which may be of interest to birders. Overall we had a wonderful stay at Oatlands."

As i understand it has 6 rooms, and a pool table in the loft. Great staff. There is no lift but its not an issue. There are small things they need to see to. Like salt and pepper shakers ( rather than sticking your fingers into the salt/pepper jar. ) there are no tissues in the room/bathroom. No hand washers - but lovely towels. The scenery from the small restaurant is amazing. This is place i may stay at again"
