- "Lovely hotel! We had a great time!" - "We had an amazing stay at this resort. The place was clean and VERY well kept. Staff was plentiful and all made sure that we were comfortable and happy. Rooms were good size and supplied with drinking water, refrigerator, safe, etc. The food was all-inclusive including alcoholic beverages. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, BBQ, all served on time with lots of choices. There were seven of us with different tastes, allergies, and dietary requirements and the menu met all of them. They served plenty of fresh fruit, egg free breads/desserts (a couple of people in our group could not have eggs and were happy to see a choice of items without them), meat choices, and vegetarian dishes as well. Fresh juices with every meal (pineapple being my favorite). There’s a pizza station, ice cream station, and a bar near one of the many pools. The grounds were well kept, pool kept clean, water aerobics sessions were fun, and nightly entertainment, along with a beautiful beach. This is not a new property but WE ENJOYED ourselves and would return. Also, treat yourself to a “four hands body massage “ where two massage therapist work on you at the same time- WONDERFUL!!!"

- "My husband. snd I spent 4 nights at Baobab in February 2024 and had a wonderful experience. our room was comfortable, air conditioned and had a nice view. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The infinity pool was great and the activities ppl enthusiastic without being annoying. Water aerobics was really fun to watch. The buffet is great. plenty of selections. However the private dining restaurants were awesome. we had dinner at the sane one twice because the food was top notch. Great place! The drive from Mombassa took 2 hours due yo traffic and time of day so be prepared fir that. Going back it took 30 minutes"

- "This was the most magical vacation and guesthouse that we have ever stayed at! The facilities are gorgeous and the staff is so sweet and accommodating (and always available) and we LOVED the big and beautiful pool. I think floating around in the water at night with the palm trees swaying above me was the most magical experience I have ever had. The hotel has wonderful gardens and is situated on a beautiful beach! Concerning the bad reviews- the guesthouse is located in a small town in East Africa and costs under $100 a night for an exotic beachfront guesthouse, I really don't understand why people expect the hotel to be a 5 star resort in California (you want that, you need to expect to pay for it). That means that power is going to go off every now and then (they ALWAYS got it to come back reasonably quickly!), the food is going to be African and take a little while because everything is fresh and often made to order and there may be a few bugs (though we never saw ANY! they were always cleaning and we found everything to be exceptionally clean) I have been a social worker in East Africa for 16 years, and I can say the food is going to be a transition for anyone arriving in the country- it isn't hygiene related, it is just going to be rough for some people who are coming into a new continent with different bacteria. Whenever we host teams, even for the teams that choose to ONLY eat at nice guesthouses and snacks that they brought, people will always get sick. "

Also the food was very nice and varied every day however, i think more effort should be made to properly cover some food items as they were often swarmed with flies, for example the desserts and fruits. The rooms were cleaned to the highest of standards every morning and the cleaners never failed to say good morning. I would also recommend riziki the hotels taxi driver to anyone needing to travel outside the resort area, he was very friendly and informative. "

Also, loved the little shop by the restaurant and we got several lovely pieces of jewelry. I especially loved the humane/gentle way of dealing with little adorable monkeys that like to steal snacks. No weird violent pest control methods that I might see in my home country (the US) and I really appreciated that, and I say that as someone whose chocolate croissant was snatched by a monkey. The staff is wonderful, special thanks to Hamisi and Mwiniyi. The food is very mediocre not because of the chefs but there appeared to be a lack of supplies. The kitchen/chef really struggled to fulfill the menu items (I ordered Chicken Breast w/rosemary and got a leg, thigh with some kind of tomato sauce and there was a struggle to create a Vegetarian Burger, took 45 minutes). The only tropical drinks they offered was a Pina Colada and Camparie. There are cottages and if one is driving (Kenya is a crazy place to drive) than one can bring their own food. The front desk could not make change for a small bill. The private beach was not kept clean so had to deal with debris. There is no gift shop and shopping is very far away. If you are looking to be alone in a serioulsy beautiful resort this is it. "
