Reside in a friendly tranquil village just steps away from the water with a typical scenery of the Österbotten coastal area.

Finished in 2015, this pine wood cottage does not offer only all the necessary modern amenities, such as a modern kitchen, a sauna and a beautiful bathroom.
We have also made a point of including carefully selected designer elements, from a traditional chimney (admittedly with a not so traditional colour) and old local furniture refurbished with international fabrics, all the way over functional (yes, some Ikea) elements and stylish Moroccan lamps in the bathroom to old family antiques, just to name a few.

This is to provide for a feeling of modern comfort and luxury fusioned into a very traditional Scandinavian setting.

Downstairs offers a comfortable open concept kitchen-, dining- and living area. One of the bedrooms, a separate toilet, a bathroom with shower, washing machine and sauna are also situated on the ground floor. The large outside terrace allows for guests to hang out in the late hours when the sun doesn't set beyond the horizon until after midnight.
The sauna, by the way, is dark on purpose, to remind of some origins of the Finnish sauna, namely a smoke sauna (FI: savusauna, SE: rökbastu)

The upper floor offers a second bedroom, a hangout area and its own little balcony, making it easy to find your own spot for reading that book or doing some work.

The lot has a large green area, reaching down to the canal in the back and including an entire field in front. Neighbors are on a comfortable distance.

The location is comfortably accessible by car, only 20km outside of Vaasa. Surroundings offer immediate proximity to nice walking paths along the canal behind the house and around the lake/bay which divides the village.

Moose/elks are regularly observed in the immediate area. A small public sand beach is only 3km away, while supermarkets are 10km away. This is a Swedish speaking area and many locals will also be able to communicate with you in English.

Day trip recommendations include Kvarken, a large archipelago and World Heritage Site best seen from the "Saltkaret" tower in Björkö, the open air museum Stundars with local life as it may have been at the turn of the 20th century, and of course Vaasa city itself with good shopping and food options.

Culinary lovers should look out for local fish dishes (especially smoked, pickled and cured), seasonal local produce, dark bread and sweets like oven pancake with cloudberry jam and icecream.

-The location is convenient, just stroll down the path and Ruka Valley, Family and Junior Park, slopes, ski, hike, bike trails are ready to use. If you want to use the Ski Bus (free of charge, runs in winter) the bus stop is 50 m downhill.
-The great Valtavaara and Oulanka National Park starts practically from the backyard and you can take a walk there before dinner or breakfast or if you like trail running, this is the place to stay with an extensive trail network right from the house.

Log house Katajakallio, a large log house (90 sqm), is located in the middle of a big private forest. Lake Lairo is about 250m where also rowing boats.Easily accesible all year round (3 km from highway 54 in Topeno village).Katajakallio is equipped with a kitchenette (a stove, a fridge, a micro-oven, coffee maker etc.), a gas grill, a fireplace, an electric sauna, a shower, a washing machine, WC, TV etc. Downstairs, there is a living room and two bedrooms, and upstairs a master bedroom.

This house offers you a lot of privacy! Here is nothing but bird sing ;)This is the perfect place for bigger families or groups and no neighbours are located near the house. TievaMoon is a genuine loghouse built in 2018 on high quality materials and it is located less than a 10 minute walk from Ylläsjärvi village centre.

The cabin is designed, built and operated by our family and we live in Rovaniemi, some 180 km's from Ylläsjärvi. We have four other cabins (TievaStar, TievaNest, TievaPeak and TievaMist) close to this one that are also listed on Airbnb.

The space
The cozy cabin is designed to accomondate max 10 adults.

The kitchen is equipped with integrated dishwasher, stove and fridge/freezer. The living room area has a sofa for 7-8 persons, a fireplace, a 55" Smart TV with more than 400 channels and a Blue Ray player. We have also a WLAN for our customers free of charge.

The first bedroom downstairs has one 180 cm wide King & Queen double bed. The second bedroom downstairs has comfortable 90x200 cm single beds that can be connected. The third bedroom upstairs has a 160x200 King&Queen double bed and the loft area upstairs has four 90x200 single beds that can't be connected.

The utility room is equipped with a washing maschine and a drying cabinet for outdoor clothing.

There are two toilets in the cabin and one of the is located in conjuction with the bathroom next to the sauna.

The house is heated using geotermic energy and the heat is beeing distributed by floor heating in the whole house.

In December 2024 the rear terrace was modified and a private jacuzzi for 3-4 persons was added. The jacuzzi in an additinal service costing 250 euros/stay and it will be always delivered disinfected and with fresh water, chlorine and PH checked.

Guest access
Guests have access to all rooms in the cabin + the ski storage room located in the carport on cabin TievaStar. It offers free of charge sliders for kids and 4 pcs of snow shoes as well as ice fishing equipment.

During the high season, Christmas, New Year and during weeks 8-16 the check in and check out date is Saturday and the minimum duration for the rental is 7 days.

Other things to note
We will try our very best to meet you personally at the time of check in and in case you are arriving late, there is a key box outside that opens with a code.

Renting the cabin requires adequate skills in English language as all instructions and safety presentation will be held in English language only. We will always present the safety features of the cabin either in place or by phone at the check in. You will also find a binder in the cabin describing in details how all appliances work. Calls will be answered 24/7 if you need any other assistance in the cabin.

Bed linen + towels are always included in the rent.

Smoking inside and bringing pets to the cabin is strictly forbidden!

Located in the summer lake area, the atmospheric log cabin Saukkoruka is a beautifully decorated holiday home right next to the Skibus stop.
2 bedrooms, 2 toilets and a large loft with 4 extra beds and a TV.

“Eikan Rientola”

Countryside ambiance, quiet, natural tranquility and well-equipped stay in Siika-Käge, 58 kilometers from Rovaniemi. A cozy log house, spacious yard areas, and immediate surrounding nature allow for diverse comfort and activities.
Siika-Kämä lake 200m away. Beach and boat in use. Berry and woodland areas are also in the immediate vicinity.
Also suitable for business training and recreational use, for example.

The space
NEW! A log sauna with a wood-burning stove with a dressing and washing area (shower) is completed in the yard. Use of the sauna is included.

A hut has also been completed in the yard. The home has a fireplace and a gas grill, so you can cook there. The roof is partly transparent, so it is possible to follow the sky and the aurora borealis when the weather permits.

Main house, "Eikan Rientola"

An old log house (72m2) glowing with warmth and ambiance, fully equipped to meet today's requirements. The house has been completely rebuilt, respecting the original spirit and atmosphere of the house.

The house has a spacious cottage, a well-stocked kitchen with dishes (for 6 people), a bedroom with a double bed, and a toilet and shower. There are two wooden beds with mattresses (175cm long) for overnight guests. There is a large terrace attached to the house. The yard area also has a new hut with fireplaces, and a canopy lean-to where it's nice to spend time glowing and frying, weather permitting.
The place is peaceful and easy to reach. There is space to be and move around. There are no immediate neighbors, the owner lives 200m away.

“The environment and activities”
The surroundings, spaces, and proximity to nature allow for diverse enjoyment and activities. Siika-Kämäjärvi (distance 200m) allows for many summer and winter activities, such as swimming, fishing/ice fishing, rowing/kayaking, skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, etc.

Nearby are well-maintained and very comprehensive forest car roads and trails that can be taken advantage of even if you can take advantage of bicycle tours.

You can also take your own ATV or snowmobile. The official snowmobile trail is 500m away. The ice is also nice for a ride.

In the summer, you'll have access to a boat, and you'll get the life jackets on behalf of the house. There's also a boat launch spot on the beach, which can be reached by car with a trailer, so you can also launch your own boat on the lake. For a traditional ski enthusiast, there is a ski-in/ski-out to the lake in the spring.

A smaller log building can be rented for a different fee as an additional space if desired in the summer time. There are more sleeping places for two people in the summer, there is no heating in the winter season. Please ask for this space separately.
