Perched on the slopes of the Klein River Mountains, with sweeping views across the Overberg from the Akkedisberg to Gansbaai, Phillipskop Mountain Reserve is a place for you to unwind and explore. The reserve, around 250ha in size, is dominated by the pointed summit of Phillipskop and covered with almost pristine fynbos. It is situated just 10km outside Stanford and within easy reach of Hermanus and Gansbaai.

Follow M3 and pass exits Rondebosch, Kirstenbosch, Claremont, Bishopscourt and "Constantia Main Road" until turnoff no. 15, Kendal Road. Turn left on Kendal Road into the area of Morningstar/the Vines/constantiaberg and turn left again (next) into Walloon Road. After ca. 300 meters stop at the big white gate (yellow walls) on the right side, no. 14, and ring the bell “office”.

Getting around:
The best way to see the sights is to use a rental car. Alternatively Uber-taxies are always available in the area. Standard taxies can be organized by us (arranged pick-up times). Major railway stations are in Plumstead and Wynberg. Local bus lines or black taxies are not recommendable.

Interactions with guests:

The local car hire companies often have better rates than the well-known ones, but the quality of the cars and their service is the same. The two bedroom chalet in the Breedekloof Valley, (just 20kms from Tulbagh, 19kms from Ceres and 10 kms from Wolseley ) is on a private nature reserve, along with about 14 other houses. The silence is something to behold.

The house is a traditional cosy log cabin. Its beauty is in its simplicity. It was built with the aim of blending into its natural surrounds. There is nothing ostentatious about it. Very Feng Shui in its layout – combining function, flow and harmony. There is something magical and invigorating about the energy of this home which aligns with and attracts the earth's natural energy lines. A creative and spiritually charged retreat.

The interior decor is modern / ancient/ arty/ eclectic/ creative/ chic. There's a blue piano, a Balinese lounge cupboard, an Eames chair, the Art Deco aquamarine couch... the Buddha statue in the garden that lights up at night, all come together to create a highly individual and arty home.

The "back garden" is a huge mountain with many hiking and mountain bike opportunities.

There are no fences between properties and privacy and peace is highly valued. Guests will need to travel about 7kms on gravel road to get to the property but no need for an off-roader. Ordinary cars do just fine. The house has an open plan lounge/ dining room/kitchen. with two bedrooms and en suite bathrooms. There's a sparkling pool and a wrap around deck for Sundowners or to laze around on the day beds. The views of the Breedekloof valley and surrounding Matroosberg mountains are magnificent. Other things to note
I have to reiterate that loud, noisy party animal type guests will not be welcome. The peaceful natural surroundings are highly valued and so guests who choose to stay must be sensitive to this.

The cottage is a free standing, beautifully renovated, 3 bedroomed traditional fisherman's cottage. It has an outdoor braai area as well as 2 indoor fireplaces for those cold winter nights.

At Bronze Grove Farm and Chalets we encourage you to wonder around and absorb the natural earthy pleasures of farm life.

The farm is situated at the foothills of the Langeberg Mountain Range and incorporates part of the famous Tradouw Pass and is 3 kms from the quaint little village of Barrydale.

We are a working farm concentrating on olives. We hand harvest and produce extra virgin cold pressed olive oil and bottled olives.

We have introduced zebra and various antelope that roam freely.

The space
River Indlu is a cosy chalet offering privacy, tranquillity and beautiful mountain views. There might be a few Nguni cattle staring at you though or a few mischievous baboons for entertainment.

It has a river frontage with a little outside table for romantic sundowners or early morning coffee.

The open planned fully equipped kitchen cum living area, with a fireplace for ambiance and for warming up those karoo chills, opens onto a covered patio with built-in braai.

There are two en-suite bedrooms each with a double bed.

One bedroom has an indoor/outdoor shower with a view of the surrounding fynbos and the other bedroom has an open planned bath-tub also with a view. Each bedroom has its own private loo.

This chalet can be used as a private romantic getaway for two, a family needing quality time together or two couples needing to escape the hustle and bustle of city noise and breathe fresh farm karoo air.

This Chalet includes 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and kitchen. The main bedroom has a queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms each have a single bed and share a bathroom with a shower. It also features a veranda and private braai area.
