You can only drink Wildekrans wines at the restaurant so a good tip is to go for wine tasting before lunch or dinner and purchase yourself a bottle as the restaurant does not charge corkage on their own wines. Breakfasts were also very good. You can taste all Wildekrans wines at the tasting room either on the relaxing front verandah, the front lawn or inside by the fire. The wine tasting room also has a restaurant which does great pizzas and waterblommetjie stew. All of this is within easy walking distance of the cottages. There are also good wineries in the area worth visiting such as Paul Cluver, Beaumont, Luddite, Goedvertrouw and Gabrielskloof. In town, Manny's restaurant serves fantastic prawns and Portuguese chicken and The Shuntin Shed is also a good dining options or place for a drink. Highly recommended."

Royston Farms is a working Honey Bush Tea Farm in The Crags on The Garden Route. Situated 13,5km from Plettenberg Bay, 5km from Keurbooms Strand . The Cottage offers a comfortable farm stay experience for couples or families with younger kids. Close enough to Plett if that's where you want to be but far enough away to enjoy the country side . If you want to just sit back and relax this is the place to do it . Easy walks on the farm or sunset braais.

Enjoy your own braai (barbeque) with free fire wood on the verandah overlooking the farm dam and the sunset. For the outdoor enthusiasts there are mountain bike trails and runs are on your doorstep and your host has an in depth knowledge of the area which is a bonus to those who wish to explore .

The Glen Eden Barn is nestled in a beautiful garden with lovely mountain views. It is set in a residential neighbourhood within walking distance to the beach, hiking trails and wetland reserve. A perfect base to experience outdoor activities in the area, explore the quirky towns and restaurants nearby or to just chill out and enjoy the views and tranquility.

The space
Enter a wooden gate and wander up the path through a beautiful established garden, past a firepit, to the Glen Eden Barn. The covered private patio is nestled in a garden setting where you can relax, braai (BBQ) or sip local wine whilst reading a book. A glass patio door leads into the open plan tastefully decorated apartment with vaulted ceilings. The dining area has a wooden dining table and chairs set in front of a large sliding window. The living area is furnished with a comfy couch, TV with Netflix and WiFi. The kitchen is equipped with gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge and all the essentials for tasty food preparation. The cosy bedroom area has a queen size bed and a ceiling fan. A dressing area with built in wardrobe leads to the modern bathroom with a walk-in shower.The apartment is attached to the main house, however it has its own entrance and is completely private.

Bek Baai is the quiet side of Paternoster, boarded by Cape Colombine Nature Reserve which is great for walking, cycling and birding.

Paternoster is famous for great restaurants. Booking essential at Leeto, Wolfgat, Gaaitjie, Noisy Oyster, Voorstrand, Seekat, Kreeftegang. The others which include Whales Rib, Blikkie, Paternoster Hotel, Jolly Rodger to name a few usually can fit you in.

South Africa does has security issues. The local security company keeps an eye on the area and security gates and windows are there for your peace of mind. Please don’t buy mussels and crayfish from A’gua. If you wish to purchase these, the legitimate sellers can be found at the boats in the morning or at the roadside in central Paternoster.


Lunar, my female dog lives on the premises and might greet you with a woof to alert me, however she is very friendly. Let me know if you are nervous of dogs and I’ll be there to meet and introduce you. She is not allowed inside your unit. Please tell her ‘out’ or ‘away’.

Paternoster is safe to walk around and friendly locals are always happy to assist.

The local OK Minimark has everything you need.

The WiFi is weak due to the area of the cottage. Signal can be used for all your general needs, however if you plan to work during your stay, please bring your booster. stone Fish as good wifi and you are welcome to sit at my studio in the village and work.

Agua is a quiet getaway for two, please no day visitors.

It is the only house on Middelplaas and was probably many decades ago used as a residence for the people looking after the farm for the owners. It is a cosy 2 bed roomed self catering cottage, only 3 minutes walk from the Gamka river.

The space
The history of the cottage on Middelplaas (Middle Farm) is unknown. It is the only house on Middelplaas and was probably many decades ago used as a residence for the people looking after the farm for the owners who lived elsewhere in the valley. Over the years it became very run down before it was renovated by the present owners into a cottage with the most beautiful view over the olive orchard, veld and mountains. It is a cosy 2 bed roomed self catering cottage, only 3 minutes walk from the private picnic site next to the river.

With free Wifi Access and security screens in front of all doors and windows.

In the main bedroom there is a double bed, the second bedroom has 2 single beds.

All linen included.

The lounge has an open fireplace for heating in winter, or the occasional braai.

There is an air conditioner in the lounge.

The kitchen is equipped with utensils to make your stay comfortable, including a microwave oven and a stove with an oven.

The sheltered stoep overlooking the veld and mountains is the ideal entertainment area with enough seating for guests.
