- "As this is the first review of the property we will try and be constructive. The apartment was very clean and everything was new. However the property differed greatly from our expectations. Look carefully at the photos on the website because the outside areas all relate to the large villa. Our apartment overlooked a building site where an old house was being renovated . No sight of the river and a small patch of artificial grass and a small bistro table between all the apartments. There was no booklet explaining how the induction hob or anything else worked. ( we do not have one at home). We requested Wi-Fi details but WhatsApp replied that no one could help. We found the laundry facilities just as we’re leaving. There was no host to meet us just WhatsApp messages (see above). The major problem with this apartment however was that it does not exist on any of the major satnavs. Even the taxi driver we used got lost. The address on the website takes you somewhere else about 15 minutes away by car. We were given a Pin on WhatsApp but it was very confusing and extremely frustrating. We would advise serious consideration before choosing this property. Precise written instructions and photos should be provided and would help to avoid the above frustrations. No bin was provided in the bathroom which my wife found very unhygienic. There was no corkscrew in the cutlery drawer."

The rooms are comfortable and cleaned everyday. The hotel does not offer food but there is a restaurant next door and lots of cafes nearby. Parking is in a 24 hour underground parking lot about a 5 minute walk away. The hotel is an historic building but sympathetically renovated. Pilgrims walk past the hotel on the way to the cathedral so if you are undertaking the pilgrimage this is a good choice."

Although nobody was physically there from the staff when I got there, the check in was very efficient through a remote call on a tablet in the lobby. The room was clean and it had all the essentials. " - "Yeah I know pilgims are meant to stay in 10 euro Alberges but after a long day walking and the risk of rain it was good to have a night pre booked at Casa Brandariz where we warmed up by an open fire, were served delicious home cooked food and local wine, and slept soundly in a comfy bed with en suite facilities. The next morning a more than we could eat breakfast was provided. The proprieter arranged a pick up from Arzua (we phoned him when we got there) and return the next morning. In this part of Spain little English is spoken but the staff were very helpful and we managed to understand each other. Overall a brilliant little part of real Spain waiting to be discovered."

We stayed at this place while walking El Camino de Santiago. It was an awesome break after walking from Palas de Rei to Arzua, which was a long walk, so we didn’t have the power to keep walking until getting the this property. - "oh my God what a hidden gem. this place is incredible. the moment you pull up and open your car door, the wonderful smell of eucalyptus hits your nose and immediately feel at ease. the owner and her husband were extremely nice, accommodating, caring, and just overall great human beings dedicated to the hospitality business. Mari Carmen has such contagious laugh and just great energy. She personally bakes the cakes offered during breakfast (breakfast is not included in the price of the stay but very fairly priced and extremely convenient) i fall short on finding words to describe what an awesome experience we had during our stay. i would strongly recommend this little hidden gem to everyone i know that may be interested in traveling to that area of Spain. wouldn’t think twice about going back. excellent!!!!"
