We left behind a personal item and Marina was very helpful in getting the item shipped back to us. I highly recommend for the owner to hire exterminators for the ants and also have the water heater checked before renting the property out again."

The extensive Guest Cottage Welcome manual, should answer most questions you have, and you will receive once booked is printed and available for your convenience when you arrive at the Guest Cottage.

Please note that we are a rural Farm setting. We do have chickens, and two roosters whom will greet the morning with their cock-a-doodle-doo's! and, with five acres of farmland, there are bugs, just like most places on earth! so most likely you will see a bug during your stay! If this is intolerable to you, the Cottage may not be for you! 😅 We hire the best housekeepers and they clean and clean and clean, charging more than one night of my rental income, and inevitably an earwig or spider will try to move in to the Cottage! We do have a monthly service spray the perimeter but avoid spraying inside because of sensitivities, pets, children etc.

We have two Guest Cottages on our five-acre property - YOUR fully-furnished Cottage, a serene 2-bedroom, 1.5 bath, newly-renovated rural 1954 Guest Cottage - is completely yours, nestled in the San Gorgonio Mountain foothills at 2,800 ft. elevation.

This Cottage includes a master bedroom with queen bed and private 1/2 bath; 2nd bedroom has one twin bed, and one full bed, plus full bathroom in hallway.

Enjoy your fully-equipped kitchen - pots, pans, dishes, towels, utensils, etc. You will find a self-serve breakfast in the refrigerator, which is provided once on your first day, and may include: our own pasture farm-fresh eggs, butter, coffee, and fresh cream.

AT&T DirectTV plus Fire TV is provided in the bedroom and living room with various streaming channels which you may log into with your private accounts (be sure to log out upon your departure) plus enjoy complimentary Frontier FIOS 500/500 wireless internet.

Guest Cottage is 30 miles from Palm Springs (be sure to visit the Living Desert Museum a bit further east); 20 minutes to the town of Redlands; less than 50 miles from Big Bear Lake, including Forest Falls just 20 miles away; and 15-20 minutes to the tranquil mountain town of Oak Glen, with excellent hiking trails! Plus we are less than 50 miles west of the incredible Joshua Tree National Park! which makes for a fabulous day trip. in addition, if you just follow the guest Cottage Street North up through the mountains to Mile High road, you will get a beautiful Vista of the entire valley! just a few miles drive!

This guest house is separate from the main house and fully renovated with all brand new amenities. Please take note that the guesthouse is sharing the sliding gate in a one compound with the main house but you have your own space. The place is cute and cozy which is perfect for traveling nurses, casino lovers or anyone that wants to escape the city life.

Guest access
The property is gated and keypad access will be provided at time of booking/reservation. You will have access to the whole guest house but stay away from the cabinets, closets and storage marked with “OFF LIMITS/STAFF ONLY” and are normally locked. Stay within the guest house perimeter.

Other things to note
You may park inside the gated property at the front of the property. Please use the back vacant lot for additional parking spaces. Keep the gate closed. You need to use same gate code to close the gate.

The gazebo and barbecue grill are provided for your enjoyment as well as the surrounding of the property with complete privacy from the neighborhood.

Please keep the gazebo furniture, dining set & barbecue grill in order and clean after each use.

NOTE: The main house is also a short term rental. Please be friendly with your neighbors :)

At Whitewater Cabin, not only will you be able to access our stunning, remote 5 acre property but also the surrounding area. Our property borders BLM (Bureau of Land Management) Land which is open to further walk along the stream and explore.

WI-FI
Whitewater Cabin is in a stunningly remote location. Until recently, it was impossible to obtain any internet access at all. Thanks to Starlink, we now have fast satellite internet on site. Please note that it is normal for the system to drop out for periods of 30 seconds up to 2 minutes at a time since this is early stage technology.

STRONG WINDS
The winds in the desert are very strong between February and June which may limit your enjoyment of the outdoor amenities. We do all we can to navigate around the winds but cannot control the impact it may have on your stay.

POWER OUTAGES
The power is cut off for 8-12 hours at least twice a year by the electrical company in order for maintenance to be done (for instance in preparation for the fire seasons). We inform our guests of outages as soon as we are made aware but cannot control the time or manner in which this may impact your stay.

REFUNDS
Should any inconveniences such as those listed above or anything else beyond our control affect your stay, we will not provide refunds. Please understand certain things simply come with the windy, rural, desert location. Thank for understanding!

PETS
There is a one time, non-refundable pet fee of $85 per pet and no more than 2 dogs are allowed. Please note that the pet fee will be charged after the booking is confirmed and must be paid before check-in.

REQUIREMENTS
Upon booking, you will receive a link with a request to sign and agree to our house rules, verify your identity, pay our refundable security deposit, and schedule a phone call with our manager. Please note that these steps are required for all guests. All steps must be complete in full prior to check-in.

POWER OUTAGES
The High Desert occasionally has power outages due to its rural nature. We are not responsible for any outages of Southern California Edison or any inconvenience such outage may cause. We will notify you of any planned outages and if requested will attempt to accommodate you elsewhere in the event of a planned outage lasting more than 4 hours. But we do not provide refunds or discounts for power outages that are unplanned.

Other things to Note:

WINTER MONTHS
From November to March, there's a possibility of snow at the cabin. It's good to know that the roads leading to the cabin are plowed. However, during a significant snowstorm, be prepared with a 4-wheel drive vehicle and chains to ensure safe access to the cabin. Because we are right off the main highway, the plows can leave berms in front of our driveway. We will make every attempt to clear it before your arrival. If it is snowing heavily, the plows run continuously, and there is a good chance you will have to shovel.

As per County Ordinance 927.1, the County of Riverside requires our guests to provide a copy of their identification and sign a formal agreement before we can release the house.

The use of outdoor amenities and/or outdoor games or any outdoor activities that create noise between the hours of 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. is prohibited.

Please close and lock all doors and windows any time before leaving the residence.

Please no smoking indoors.

If any keys are lost, we will unfortunately have to charge $400.00 to have the house re-keyed in order to ensure our home and future house guests are safe.

No pets are allowed. If pets are discovered to have been brought during your stay, there will be a $400.00 charge.

Please inquire about pool heating. There is a $150 per day charge for heating both pool/jacuzzi. If only jacuzzi heating is requested, it will cost $70 per day. We ask that pool heating be requested before your arrival to ensure pool/jacuzzi have reached desired heating temperatures as the pool can take up to 12 hours to completely heat up.

To prevent any accidents/injuries, please refrain from using glass in pool area. If ANY broken glass is found near or around the pool area, there will be a $500.00 charge to have pool cleaned for the safety of future guests.

Please no diving into pool. Pool depth ranges from less than 3 feet and gradually deepens to 5 feet at its deepest. To prevent any injuries, please watch all children at ALL times and do not leave them unattended in or around the pool. There is no security fence around pool.

Please remove all toys from pool water when not in use. Do not leave them in water when not in use/ overnight because they will block the cleaning filters and prevent constant circulation of pool water, which prevents pool water from being cleaned.

Please take out all trash bags/ trash before departing on your check-out day.

Please make sure all used dishes are washed before departing on your check-out day.

We kindly ask that you switch off lights and the A/C or heating when it is not in use or leaving the house. Mother nature thanks you too.

We understand that accidents happen so we do ask that you please let us know when they do. Chances are we can fix them as effortlessly as possible.

Most importantly, please treat this home as if it were your own. We greatly appreciate your cooperation and hope you enjoy your stay!

The second room is a fully-equipped kitchen (apartment sized refrigerator, propane stove/oven, dishes, utensils, pots/pans, etc.), and the third room is a full size bath/shower, fully equipped with towels, bath wash, shampoo & conditioner. There is also a small closet. (Please note that all amenities i.e. toilet paper, dish soap etc. are provided during the first day of your visit, which should be enough for at least 3 days. We have a Walgreens and Stater Brothers a couple miles south if you need extra items during your longer stay! ) Enjoy your own private, covered shaded deck, with seating, right outside the Studio Cottage French doors!

We had eggs and squeezed orange juice from the farm for breakfast both mornings. In the evenings we heard owls and coyotes. I stayed here to attend a wedding just ten minutes up into the mountains at Serendipity Gardens, and it was very easy to call a Lyft to get there. The area immediately around the property isn't the best for walking, but there are so many lovely hikes a short drive away (with suggestions and directions thoughtfully provided in binders by the host). We really loved the Oak Glen Preserve for the hiking, dining, and shopping (and it's a great spot for anyone whether you have kids, dogs, or are just traveling solo). The Space
With 8 charming bedrooms in the 3-story Mansion and 4 cosy cottages just a 2-minute walk away, we have a total of 12 bedrooms on the enormous estate grounds that can accommodate up to 20 guests. We are actually in the middle of building our off-grid tiny-cabin resort, but we invite you to stay with us as we grow! Bring your ATV's and take off on a desert adventure, or bring your hiking boots and scramble to the Cabazon oasis (2 miles) or take a hike over to One Horse Spring (which is basically a year-round waterfall.) Or bring your credit cards cause we are near lots of shopping too!

Have you ever wondered what it's like to truly live off-grid without modern conveniences? The Last Resort is the experience you have been looking for! Think "glamping" but in an actual teeny tiny-cabin.

Off-Grid Specs:
There is no running water, and we are not connected to the electrical grid. Talk about roughin- it! We haul in our water, and your stay includes a 5-gallon jug. We have a rechargable water sprayer in the kitchen sink and the shower so you can wash off your dishes and the dust out of your hair. (Or leave the dust - it doubles as dry shampoo.) Run out of water? No problem. Just head on over the local Circle K and refill that puppy for about 2 bucks. Or bring your own water if you like - in fact, bringing your own is highly recommended!

Cabin Lighting:
There is subtle solar lighting inside the cabin that kicks on at dusk and goes off at dawn. Remember, there is no electricity. So if you need more lighting than that, bring a flashlight or a book light.

Charging:
We also suggest you bring whatever you need to keep your electronics charged.

Generator:
Feeling a little bougie? There is a generator on-site so if you really need some electricity, you can run out and purchase some gas at the local gas station, fill 'er up and enjoy the electric power while it's running.

Bathroom:
Gotta potty? We got you. Take a seat at our flushable, real toilet in the resort off-grid bathroom. You'll have to refill it for the next guy, though! Or you can warm up a bucket of water (using the teakettle on the grill burner) and take yourself a quick 3-minute shower. Brush your teeth in our state-of-the-art off-grid sink we made out of a planter and a water jug - yeah we do everything in style here.

Important: We do not provide towels. Mainly because we don't have a washer and dryer to keep up with piles of laundry. So make sure you don't forget your towel.

Kitchen:
Enjoy our off-grid kitchen, complete with a cast-iron sink and marble counter - cause we're not absolute heathens. The kitchen is still being constructed through, so pardon our dust. There is a grill in there too. Feel free to use our pots and pans and grill yourself up something delish. Just make sure to clean up and leave it like you found it.

Outdoors:
We have a little outdoor recreation area with a putting green, and outdoor stove (for winter use only) an outdoor king-bed (hello star-gazing!) and a bocce ball court coming very soon! The bocce balls are out though - so you can use those anywhere you like.

We are nestled at the base of Mt. San Jacinto so you can hike right up the back of the property. The views are spectacular!

Enjoy amazing sunsets and sunrises against the crinkly mountains and desert backdrop. Hang outside in the rec area at dusk and watch as the dragonflies and bats swoop around for their dinner. Early in the morning is the best time to spot squirrels, rabbits and all kinds of birds. We often see hawks swooping over the property on windy afternoons.

Wildlife:
We have two Creosote trees on the property. They are estimated to be over 100 years old. We don't really get mosquitoes, but there are bees that like to buzz through. We are in rattle-snake country, and even though we haven't seen any on the property this year, you never know, so just watch where you're walking, k?

Pets:
We are fine if you bring your older, well-behaved dogs that won't run off, please know that our property is very open. And sometimes our ranch-dog is here so your dog needs to be okay with other dogs. No cats, guinea pigs or fish, please.

Cleaning:
Please note - we are dustyyyy. And not just any dust. This stuff gets everywhere. So when you walk in, don't be alarmed if there is already a bit of dust - even if we just cleaned. Before you leave, please wipe everything down and leave it how you found it.

No Refrigerator:
There is no fridge, and we highly recommend you bring a cooler with ice. You can use our outdoor kitchen to cook and grill - just make sure to rinse everything before using it cause - well, dust. *sigh* It's inescapable.

Another note: in case you missed the memo - there is no bathroom in this unit - you will use the resort bathroom to do your thang.

Kids:
Got kids? Cool. So do we. Just please understand it's the wild wild west out here. Bugs, snakes, dogs etc. So don't let them wander off.

Bugs:
We don't see bugs inside much, but if you do see one, there is a fly-swatter included with the unit. Enjoy.

Wifi:
We do not have Wifi on the property, but we get great mobile phone service out here with T-mobile and Verizon. We encourage you to set down your phone and go explore, and if you need Wifi, please contact your phone service provider and have them add a hot-spot to your phone.

Air-Conditioning:
There is an A/C unit available, but you will need to go get some gas (or bring some!) to power up the generator to use it. It cools the house by about 10 degrees on really hot days. And even more on less-hot days.

Weather:
This is the desert. Please check the weather before you head out and dress appropriately. Bring extra jackets and blankets to stay warm in the winter and cooler clothes for the summer.

The Last Resort is built for adventurous, temporary stays and we do not offer long-term rentals.

Local Amenities:
We are just 16 minutes from Morongo Hotel & Casino, Bowling, Taco Bell, Starbucks, In n Out, Panda Express, Chipotle, Coldstone and the famous Cabazon Outlets. And you can't miss Hadley's - a giant gourmet market.

We also have the Pacific Crest trail that goes through these parts too. You can snap a pic next to the sign under the bridge and tell all your buddies you hiked it. (Kidding! Kinda.)

Palm Springs is just a short 30-minute drive and Joshua Tree National Park is about 90 minutes away.

Nights in the Desert:
During a full moon the property is lit up and you can see everything, so if you're scared of the dark, or like to go on night-hikes that's a great time to come. New moons are perfect for star-gazing. On clear nights you can see the Milky-Way!

- "First off the hosts where very wonderful!! The cabin was as listed. But for me 5’5 could hardly get in and out of the bed, it was way to high. So if you stay bring a step stool. The restroom it cute. But if you are like me I have a little problem with my arthritis. They have a Little Rock slope( maybe 14inchs) that was very difficult for me. Even a little handrail would be great to help. Everything was decorated very nice. Do not try and find the place at night!!!!! We were booked for two nights but we only stayed one, because it was just to difficult for me with the bed and the slope to the restroom! Plus I saw the area around this cute little homestead in the daylight!! It was down right scary with striped car abandoned jet ski, old single wide trailer all boarded up. The road up to their place looked like a ghetto on each side of the dirt road had trash everywhere . But their homestead was nice . One other thing just my personal view . I need a mirror in my room so I can bush my hair in the morning . The bed was comfy! The room got a nice in cool in the evening ."

DAMAGE INSURANCE FEE: All reservations are subject to an $89 Damage Protection Fee, which covers accidental damages incurred during the stay. This fee safeguards guests against additional charges for qualifying damages, providing a streamlined and worry-free experience.

Guests who cancel within the applicable cancellation window will receive a full refund, minus any transaction or processing fees charged by payment platforms or software providers.

During the summer the thermostat may be locked at a certain temp range and not able to go lower than that range. This is due to the extreme temperatures in the desert. We can’t allow thermostats to be set below this range or we risk the AC unit freezing entirely, and not working during your stay. We apologize in advance, but we can assure you that 72 or 74 degrees will feel AMAZING when it’s over 100 degrees outside.

- "The location is a bit out there, but for us that was a good thing. Everything was absolutely clean. There's a very eclectic vibe from the furnishings and decoration which is a lot of fun for a vacation rental. Pool, hot tub, and outdoor areas were wonderful too. As long as you don't mind being well outside of town, don't hesitate, this place was great."

Mansion in the hills is the way our granddaughter describes the house. It's a corner lot on a quiet street with excellent neighbors. We even have police officers who live nearby, so everyone has a sense of security. Our house is two stories and the guest house is attached but separate with its separate entry on the front with a shared front gated patio.

For late check-outs, kindly inform the host by 8pm the day before to check availability. If there's no reservation following yours, we can accommodate for an extra $50 fee, adjusting our cleaning crew schedule accordingly. Unapproved late check-outs will incur a $100 charge.
