This eclectically decorated 1600 foot home offers A/C or Heat in each of our spacious rooms with all the amenities: Fully-stocked kitchen with all the appliances to delight a gourmet cook, a working office, spacious living room with fireplace, and a cozy and fun bar/lounge. Desert wifi can be super spotty and can go in and out. We have the best service for our rural area but people needing full time high speed might not find those needs met here. Not suitable to work from home from this location.

The entire home was recently renovated and features butcher block counter tops, porcelain tile floors, original mid century wood ceiling, large picture windows with beautiful views, and all modern amenities such as high speed wireless internet, a 4k RokuTV with streaming apps, a hair dryer, bath and beauty products, heat and air conditioning, a coffee maker with complimentary coffee and tea, a fully stocked kitchen with everything needed to cook meals at home, a stove, oven, and fridge with freezer. Morongo Valley is a small, quiet community featuring one of the best bird watching locations in the Western United States: Big Morongo Canyon Preserve. Morongo Valley is an ideal High Desert locale, set halfway between the restaurants, shops, and nightlife of Palm Springs (30-minute drive) and the wonders of Joshua Tree National Park (35-minute drive to the West Entrance).

This area is located within a short drive of delicious restaurants and fun things to do. Here are a few favorites:
• Dillon's Burgers & Beers (7-minute drive) - Old-school eatery known for hearty food and arcade games.
• Morongo Valley Cafe (8-minute drive) - Neighborhood favorite for breakfast classics like eggs benedict and huevos rancheros.
• Joshua Tree Village (30-minute drive) - Quirky strip of boutiques and restaurants, including Coyote Corner, Space Cowboy Books, and the rustic Joshua Tree Saloon.

Getting Around:
Many roads in the high desert are dirt, so please take it slow. While a car is required to get around, a four wheel drive car is not if you follow our directions, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain.

PLEASE NOTE that names of streets on maps and on street signs often differ in Morongo Valley, and some roads can be quite difficult as they are not publicly maintained. Please be sure to follow our turn-by-turn directions.

Other Things to Note:
• POOL AND HOT TUB HEATING:
- The hot tub is always free to heat.
- However, during the cooler months, there are extra charges for pool heating, see below.
- If you want the pool heated during these months, please let us know 48 hours before you arrive.

Extra Charges for Pool Heating:
May/September: $150 per night
October and April: $200 per night
November through March: Pool heating not available

No jumping, diving, running or rough play near the pool. No glass can be around the pool and hot tub, there are plastic cups in the kitchen to be used outside. Please mind the quiet hours (no loud noises after 10pm). No intoxicated persons may use the pool or hot tub.
NO LIFEGUARD WILL BE ON DUTY - YOU SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK.

• EVENTS & COMMERCIAL PHOTOSHOOTS: Are not permitted without prior approval, applicable permit and additional fees.

• DOGS: Dogs are welcome and there is a one time fee of $100. Maximum of 2 Dogs allowed. No other types of animals are authorized.

• SOCIAL MEDIA: If you plan on sharing your experience on social media, please mention us!

• CELL SERVICE: Cell phone service availability and quality in the high desert varies by service provider. This is particularly true in the more remote areas of Joshua Tree, Pipes Canyon, and Pioneertown. Please be prepared by enabling wifi calling or downloading a VOIP program.

• ROAD CONDITIONS: Many roads are dirt, so please take it slow. A four wheel drive car is not required, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain

• WILDIFE: During the Spring & Summer, honeybees gather near the far end of the pool (and the spa). They are not aggressive and will typically ignore swimmers. We have created two small diversion pools and are working to get them to seek water elsewhere. We are very respectful of wildlife and have been working with experts from the National Park Service to mitigate this. We apologize for the inconvenience!

The solar heated swimming season starts when nights warm in Spring and usually goes through late Fall. Note: Due to weather conditions, in winter months the pool shade sails may be taken down.

Hike. Hidden Passage Guest Ranch is in a secluded 130-acre canyon – an island within the Sand to Snow National Monument - with miles of unforgettable hiking trails right outside your door. Both leisurely walks around the village property to advanced serious all-day hikes. Will rarely see a soul . . . unless our own guests. (Trail map in Apollo Community Center.)

It was a quiet and peaceful getaway, close enough to go into town to grab a bite and catch a show at Pappy’s and then come back to relax and enjoy being surrounded by nature. The wood stove was a nice touch and kept us warm on a couple of chilly nights. The bed was comfy and we had everything we needed during our stay. We loved the privacy of the cabin and didn’t get a chance to check out the pool or other common spaces, but we are already planning another visit!"
