The huge park meadow is viewable from your kitchen window and offers magnificent views of Idyllwild's iconic Lilly rock. Hit the trail in another direction and you'll arrive at Idyllwild's Nature Center--a fun place for both kids and adults to learn about Idyllwild. The Nature Center pass you will find in the cabin gives you free admission to the Center, all of their hiking trails, plus a discount in their gift shop. This house was clean, relaxing, peaceful, well stocked and close to town. An added bonus were the stunning steller jay birds in the surrounding pines seeking peanuts. Tips for those bringing dogs: houses with wooden decks can be fearful for some dogs. Two of our three dogs were hesitant to walk on the large wood decks and backyard steps which we did not anticipate. Fortunately, we were able to buy canvas drop cloths at the local hardware store which eliminated their fear and they then loved hanging out on the front porch. Also, minutes away is the Idyllwild Nature Center which had wonderful shady and relatively flat trails where leased dogs were welcome - our favorite field trip! We would definitely stay at this beautiful home again."

There is no AC so it was uncomfortable for 1 of those days as we were having record breaking temperatures. The cabin was clean and the surroundings were very quite and peaceful. The hot tub was nice and ready to go when we arrived. The rooms in the loft upstairs were comfortable but recommended for kids as the stairs are a bit steep going up and down and the bathroom is more fashioned for short people. There is also no doors dividing the two rooms upstairs, its open space. Over all we had a very nice stay. There are some fans in the cabin but I recommend avoiding this location during the peak of summer."
