- "An outstanding property in a tea plantation. The main house is full of furniture from days gone by, including nice library. The staff are very incredible. We went at a time when the night temperatures got cold. Not a problem. We loved the Victorian style of the main building where the reception, bar, lounge and library are located. All the rooms including the dining room were tastefully decorated. The antique furniture and the artifacts take you back to the colonial times. The food served in the restaurant was tasteful. What made the dining experience special was the excellent quality of service of the restaurant staff. They were extremely polite. highly efficient and attentive. Unfortunately, we encountered one problem in the bathroom. The refuse was leaking in from the bathroom next door which was certainly a very unpleasant experience. When we complained about this, the hotel front desk staff immediately shifted us to another room which was next door. The staff not only apologized several times for our inconvenience but they also made sure that we got shifted to another room immediately. All in all, we had a very nice stay."

- "Nice breakfast and view from property " - "Okay hotel, rooms are quite spacious, some with good views of the mountains in the distance. Quite close to the centre of Darjeeling on a busy road (to be fair all roads are busy there). The room we were in was a bit damp, this side of the hotel doesn't get sunlight at this time of year (December) so in this season it remains quite humid and therefore cold (there are enough blankets that you can sleep comfortably though) throughout the night and the day. Staff was nice but also sometimes too present, we got multiple calls in the room in the evenings to tell us that dinner was ready at the restaurant, even though we hadn't booked the restaurant or mentioned any plans to have dinner there."

Excellent service by everyone. The view of the Himalayan peaks from the second floor terrace is exceptional (see picture) especially in the morning. While I was travelling alone this trip, I think it is a great hotel for a romantic getaway. A short walk mostly level to the main mall, but far enough away that it is quieter at night. Rooms heated (important in winter), with wood floors, walls, ceilings and furniture. When I return to Darjeeling, I will definitely stay here again. All the staff I interacted with were terrific."
