- "It was very comfortable to stay at this resort in Rapa Nui. The rooms are comfortable and quirky, but the real value is in the amenities. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They will help you with all of your arrangements from rental car to excursions. The breakfast was included in our booking and was a great variety, including custom omelets. You need to have your expectations in the right place. This is an extremely isolated island -- one of the most remote places in the world -- so obtaining building supplies and such is a challenge, so most places are behind on maintenance when compared to other locations around the globe. Just accept this as part of the experience or this is not the right destination for you."

They are a mile and a half from town and the walk along the ocean was nice but still got tiring. Would be good if they had bicycles for rent. - "Kona Koa lodge was perfect! The location is peaceful and quiet. There are multiple units on the property but positioned perfectly so you rarely see each other. The units are very clean and look newly built. The bed was very comfortable and unit was beautifully decorated. The family who owns the lodge is so welcoming and helpful even meeting us at the airport with flowers. They provided free transport to and from the airport. We were brought fresh pineapple juice and sat on the porch with the owner upon arrival to setup our car rental and tour guides. Our unit was cleaned everyday with fresh flowers provided on the porch afterwards. They provided recommendations on restaurants and were available via WhatsApp at all times. The owners made us feel like family. It was the right balance of remote and resort that fits Rapa Nui. Added bonus was free drinking water jugs in the room (thankfully not individual water bottles) and electricity from solar panels. We would definitely stay here again!!"

While the area is a quiet area, you will hear the dogs, cats, and roosters if you leave your windows open! We arranged the airport pick up and drop off which was very convenient. The cabin was clean and had a kitchen, which we liked. Right next door there is a shop (which accepts cards and is open early/late) that has tons of fresh produce, frozen foods, drinks, snacks, fresh coffee, and bread, so you can easily pick up these items to use in the kitchen. Within walking distance are several restaurants, shops, the seashore, the main shopping area, and the sunset point at Ahu Tahai. You can go watch the sunset and it's about a 10-minute walk back from there. Check out the empanada spot just up the road - delicious large empanadas made to order from scratch. It felt very safe to walk around the area even after dark. Jasmin helped us with everything and was so kind and friendly. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it."

- "When we arrived at the property we found out that we didn't have a reservation with the hotel-even though Expedia had said that we were booked- so that was quite a surprise as you can imagine !With the island being heavily booked we were worried but the front desk lady was so wonderfully good that she took control of our situation and found us a spot at another hotel right next door for one night. - "Hugo picked up from airport which I really appreciated. Location was spacious, clean and on the Main Street, so was close to shopping and dining options. The only recommendation is to make sure television is available. " - "For the price and for Easter Island standards, this hotel was pretty decent. Don't expect too much from most hotels on Easter Island, because it is very isolated. We didn't even bother connecting to the WiFi because the wifi on the island is worse than 2G. The bathroom was small but we had hot water, so that's nice. We could have used some more blankets because it got cold at night. If we had asked the owner he probably would have gladly gave us some, but we were too lazy. Speaking of the owner, he was very helpful. He picked us up from the airport. We weren't even expecting pickup. He was waiting for us with a sign and with "lays" (not sure if that's how you spell it). He doesn't really speak much English though. He can understand more or less, but not speak. Luckily I could speak some Spanish so we were able to communicate. He also has cars to rent (stick shift only) for a very good price. There are restaurants, shops, and convenience stores on the same street. I recommend this place if you are on a budget. If you have more money to spend, of course I'd book a room in one of the nice resorts on the island."
