- "Such a great hotel! Tucked away in a quiet side street but still close to the beach and town. I was lucky enough to have a balcony overlooking the pool which means a great sea view too. The rooms are huge, spotless and beautifully furnished. Bed is big and comfy and bathrooms are really nice. Good breakfast, with fresh juice, was a real bonus. - "Casa da Mata was one of 3 stops on our 2 week exploration of Portugal. We had an amazing stay! The house was perfect - sooooo much space for our family of four. We had everything we needed to feel right at home from a washer for our clothes, a big kitchen to cook meals, and a back patio to sit and enjoy a glass of wine! We loved having our own private parking space. In terms of location within Espinho, the house is only a block from the beach and a short walk to the main area of town. There are tons of restaurants nearby and all the other conveniences you might need. We loved waking up each morning and smelling the grilling that the local restaurants were doing to get ready for lunch and dinner. It smelled so good! Larger grocery stores are just a short drive or about a 15 minute walk. The train station is also a short walk and we took it a few times to go to Porto. I hope to come back to Espinho and if I do, I'll definitely return to Casa da Mata. Thank you Joana and family for your wonderful hospitality and the delicious sweets."
