Had booked the place for 2 weeks and only stayed 10 minutes. Smelled like urine, and all the stains in the living room couch was awful to look at. PLEASE NOTE:
This unit is on the 2nd floor. 2nd Unit Back door entrance has 16 steps. 2nd Unit front door entrance has 13 steps.
There are also 12 steps to the attic. Please plan ahead by looking over these important details about your Host's property.

***PARKING***: 2 cars can be parked back to back on the driveway. Oversized vehicles, such as commercial vans or extra large SUV will need to park on the street ( We are not responsible of any street parking tickets).

Additional guests not mentioned during the initial reservation are not allowed to stay over. The guest making the reservation MUST check in with the other guests.

Two cars are allowed to be parked in the driveway, back to back. Any additional cars must be parked on the street, However we are not responsible for any street parking fines.

Returning the unit the same way it was found is mandatory. If anything gets broken or damaged during the stay please report it immediately.

Guests are responsible for bagging all garbage and placing the bags in the bins outside the building, or at the curb, as instructed by the host (host will communicate with guest regarding this).

If your unit has a thermostat and the thermostat is locked, do not tamper with it or try to break open the lock. Doing so is called vandalism and is highly inappropriate. We will withhold your security deposit if you do this and possible submit for more damages depending on the situation.

Also, guests must leave the apartment in the condition they found it (e.g. no leftover food, nothing that creates a need for excessive or deep cleaning). Please wash all dishes that you use, remove food that you`ve brought in, and discard all trash. Our cleaning fee is lower than most and it covers basic cleaning tasks like washing of linens and towels, vacuuming, etc. The cleaning fee does not cover deep cleaning, excessive kitchen and bathroom cleaning, etc. Thanks for your cooperation!

If you check out late, there will be a $100 per hour fee for each hour or fraction of an hour that you stay beyond the check out time.

If you smoke, use incense, use drugs of any kind (including marijuana and cannabis) anywhere on the property including outside areas and common areas, we will charge a $300 fee. If there are damages related to smoking or drug use, we will charge fees in addition to this $300.

Neighborhood is located in the perfect place for a fun filled family vacation. We are located only one (1) block from the NJ buses to the greatest shopping areas in NJ. These buses take you to the Garden State Plaza, Bergen Town Center Outlets; surroundings shopping areas are Paramus Park and Willow Brook Mall. NJ transit buses or trains will take you to NYC.

The Great Falls is the second-highest on the east coast (second only to Niagara). The Great Falls thunders over a rocky ledge, 70 feet deep, about 60 feet wide to a broad basin descending 20 feet through trap rock and sandstone to the City of Paterson.

No extra Guests / No House Parties: Rental Guest understands’ that we will accept families, couples and responsible adults over the age of 21 ONLY. - "We used to live in NYC and typically come up to visit family. We wanted a nice middle ground between quiet and the noise of the city itself. The area: close to many delicious restaurants has a mall nearby as well as a target within driving distance like I’m talking 15 minutes tops. The neighborhood itself very peaceful at night there is not a single sound, which is great for someone that comes to enjoy some quiet. Getting to New York City, including Brooklyn. Bronx and Queens took less than 45 minutes which if you’re used to commuting in these areas driving tends to be heavy traffic so it’s nice to be able to drive back to a quiet area to relax for the night. The property: the property itself is a cute rustic ranch and is cozy and easy to access. The host provides cooking utensils, as well as pots and pans and towels and linens, which is a nice added plus, each room on the property also has TVs, while we visited during a time that was quite chilly, for the summer it works great since it includes a grill and pool as well as outdoor sitting arrangements property is pet friendly The host: Charles is very communicative and warm. He even greeted us prior to our stay to welcome us and ensure we had the wifi information and location of access keys. He also ensured we were able to reach him should there be anything we needed. I definitely would come back again!"

The building is in a quiet neighborhood but we do have some exterior security cameras for the house and guests safety. There is a ring camera facing the driveway/parking space, a security camera with a flood light on the garage door facing the backyard, a security camera on the front of the house facing the street and one on the back door of the 2nd unit with a flood light facing the backyard and balcony.

PARKING:
2 cars can be parked on the driveway back to back. Oversized vehicles, such as commercial vans or extra large SUV will need to park on the street. We will not be responsible for street parking fines.

This unit is on the 1st floor. There is another unit on the 2nd floor. Walking steps from 2nd floor may be heard as this building is a 2 apartment building. Prepare in advance by looking over these important details about your Host's property.

- "We were looking for a great safe, nice, comfy place to stay while visiting family for Thanksgiving. This place was in the perfect location. Stores were very close by. The place was big. It has lots of sleeping areas, 2 nice big tvs in the sitting areas, nicely decorated with many nice upgrades. It was nice to arrive after 9+ hours of driving to find snacks and drinks provided by our host. I did have to speak to the host on the phone and via text. She was friendly and extremely helpful, We ended up extending our stay for a day and that was an easy process. I would definitely recommend this place and stay here again in the future."

- "I did not stay in her home. The host canceled and did not notify me. I almost did not have any where to stay. This was a birthday trip for my grandson and it was almost ruined due to this hostess actions." - "This listing advertised as sleeping 10, but really only sleeps 8 (if all sleeping surfaces are available). It advertised 3 beds and a twin sofa bed. I was traveling with 7 adults, so we would need all sleeping surfaces. When we arrived, I immediately noticed that the twin sofa was missing. Upon reaching out to the host, I was told the previous guests broke it. I inquired on what the next step would be as this listing no longer accommodated us. I was offered a 100 refund or I could contact VRBO. No other efforts were made to accommodate us. Because there was no longer enough places for my family to sleep, and the host offered no other options, I was forced to book other accommodations that cost me double what I was expecting to pay for the two nights. As of today, the host has refused a complete refund, despite completely agreeing that 1/4 of the sleeping surfaces were missing (the twin sofa bed was listed as a SLEEPING accommodation). They are unwilling to work with VRBO's recommendation for a full refund for listing the property inaccurately and failing to notify us that we would be minus sleeping space. I would be careful with this property. As of today, the host still lists this property inaccurately, and it's clear that they don't see this as a justifiable reason for a refund. "

Modern day conveniences amid old-world charm. Spacious living/family room with garden views, cozy sunroom, basement game room/office retreat (with the best bathroom in the house!), deck and patio for outdoor living. Our pictures speak better than any thousands of words!

- "Kathryn & Joe have a very nice, clean home on a beautiful, quiet, tree-lined street. The neighborhood is everything you could ask for, just a 5-min walk to downtown! K&J were great, and it was easy to coordinate things that needed to get done. It's their primary home, so there are some basic household activities to keep up with, like storing their mail for pickup, watering plants, changing outside lights timer, and other small tasks. None of this is a problem, but good to be aware of. A few other notes: -The house is 150 yrs old, so it has some expected quirks: loud/creaky upstairs floors, slightly narrow/shallow/steep stairs, etc. -K&J cleared out a large closet and two dressers for us; we had plenty of space for our things in the bedroom. -No window coverings in master bedroom, which gets a lot of natural light in the morning. We stayed in the guest room (master bedroom double bed was too firm for us), so this wasn't an issue. -Master bathroom does not exhaust steam well. K&J keep a standing fan outside the door to use when showering, which helps. -Water pressure is excellent. -There are a lot of personal items. K&J allowed us to use the 3rd floor to store these, which was helpful. -House is fully-stocked. You likely won't feel like you're missing anything, especially in the kitchen. -Backyard trees provide nice privacy, but the yard remained damp during our rainy stay. In all, K&J were very thoughtful, and the house kept us safe, warm, and comfortable while visiting NJ."

• No flushing toilet paper – use bin provided
• Do not move furniture

• Refill Keurig with water only
• Jacuzzi use: Limit to 30 mins (motor may overheat) Make sure the tub plug is fully sealed to prevent draining. A water detector alarm is installed near the pump—if it sounds, turn off the water immediately and contact the host
