- "We had a really lovely stay here. We felt totally immersed in the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese Ryokan. The food was both delicious and always beautifully presented. We are really glad that we made this stop as part of our travels around Japan. Mount Fuji was mostly covered in isolated low level cloud, but we did get a gorgeous view once or twice. Points to note are that there are no other facilities other than your room and dining room which is accessed at set, pre agreed times. Early check in is not an option and there didn’t seem to be any English speaking staff when we needed help. There was nothing within walking distance but the hotel were able to arrange a cab so we could visit the gold mine for a few hours and lunch after arriving too early. "

I think it’s good for families since they have a game room with ping pong and karaoke and pet friendly. I had a Japanese room which overlooked the river! The futons were wayyyy too thin and my back paid for it. There nothing around it so opt for the meal plans. Dinners were okay mainly Japanese style. The breaky is early but the checkout at 11 makes up for it. Main problem is that the inside looks a bit shabby in places and it’s a shame they don’t fix the holes in the roof and such.
