Cons: Everything was fair for the low price we paid but the room was outdated, some poorly done drywall repairs, no artwork on the walls etc. Also, the walls are thin so as people were getting up in the morning it was pretty loud. One of the first homes built in the Village of Oxford, this private upstairs rental unit also has a private entryway.

It has been tastefully renovated with beautiful trim work, tall ceilings, and large rooms. The entire home for most of it's standing was a large single family home, remodeled into a top-down duplex style. So the unit itself is basically it's own home, with 1500+ sq/ft the space feels like it just keeps going and going.

-None of the bedrooms share walls, so there is plenty of privacy within the unit.
-The property comfortably sleeps 6-9 guests.

This is an upstairs apartment in a duplex home. You will have a private entrance accessed by key code.

Your entry is meant to be private with a custom made door code for you and requires no interaction with your hosts at all.

Noise: The rental is on M24 and there IS road noise all times of day and night. We now have noise dampening curtains which help significantly! There is also earplugs provided as well as noise machines in the bedrooms, if you wish to use them.

AC: As shown in our amenities this rental is air conditioned using portable units. The system we have in place works really well. There are now two window units and a portable floor unit. During the hottest days of the summer we recommend to keep the blackout curtains closed to keep sunlight out.

Interior:
Our ranch-style home offers a convenient single-level layout. The eat-in kitchen seamlessly connects to the dining and living areas, with subtle views of Lake Orion. The two bedrooms are located on opposite sides of the home for added privacy. One bedroom features a Queen bed for two, while the other has a Full/Twin bunk, accommodating up to three people. The second bedroom also has a closet with two cots, which can be set up in the entry hallway for extra sleeping space, perfect for kids. The bathroom is ideally situated near the front of the home for added privacy.

Exterior:
Our cottage includes a spacious driveway with room for 3-4 cars and a large back patio for outdoor living. Our home is situated just off the water with a 2–3-minute walk down to the access point where you can launch our kayaks.

We absolutely love our location! Not only are we across from the lake, but we are only a 5-minute drive to downtown Lake Orion, 8-minute drive to the public boat launch on Lake Orion, 10 minutes to Downtown Oxford, 15 minutes to Great Lakes Crossing Outlets, 19 minutes to Downtown Clarkston, & only 20 minutes to Downtown Rochester!

Guest access

Guest's will have access to the entire interior and exterior of the home along with an area across the street to launch kayaks. Guests will not have access to the neighbor's private docks.

Other things to note

-Though we have views of Lake Orion from the back, this is not direct frontage. We are just off the water. The lake access point is a 2–3-minute walk down.
-The AC is a wall unit that is placed in the living room window during the warmer months. The wall unit cools the entire space very well, but we do have fans for additional convenience.

Located in the heart of Downtown Oxford's social district, this completely renovated two-bedroom, one-bathroom upper apartment is the perfect place to stay. You'll have easy access to local restaurants, bars, and shops. From Spring through November, the trolley can take you from Downtown Oxford to Downtown Lake Orion on the weekend. The public boat launches of Lakeville Lake and Lake Orion are within 10 minutes. 6 golf courses are within 15 miles. Just a short walk away, you will find entertainment and various events.

We also have the front unit as a short-term rental (VRBO #4393261) that sleeps 4 with 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and a queen size sleeper sofa bed in the family room. With many wedding venues in the area, together, they are perfect for brides to prepare for the big day.

It’s very spacious inside and you’ll be greeted with fresh fragrance upon walking in! We found all of the necessities in the kitchen and bathrooms, the beds are super comfy, the fireplace was a nice touch during the chilly nights. The Queen sized bunk beds with the pullout trundle bed was a hit with the kids, especially since each bunk has its own TV! The host was very communicative and the check in and check out process was a breeze. The area is very safe and serene. It was so relaxing to sip morning coffee on the deck while listening to the birds sing and watching the swans swim in the lake. We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend in Paddler’s Paradise and we would definitely love to come back."

Living Room:
Unwind in the inviting living room, offering ample seating for the whole family. A comfortable L-shaped couch faces a large Roku TV, providing access to various streaming services.

We absolutely love our location! Not only are we directly across from the lake, but we are only a 2-minute drive to downtown Oxford, 10 minutes to Downtown Lake Orion, 20 minutes to Downtown Clarkston, & only 25 minutes to Auburn Hills/Downtown Rochester!

Guest Access~

***Please note: This is a main level unit, providing you with the comfort and privacy of your own space and private entrance. You will have private access to the entire main floor complete with 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a living room, kitchen, dining room, game room, & laundry room. Outside you will have private access to the front porch, & front yard. The lower unit is completely separate and home to a very quiet and sweet long-term tenant. Each unit has their own private entrance. The only area that is shared is the driveway. You will have 2 parking spaces on the left side of the driveway (reach out to Emily for additional parking needed). Guests will not have access to the rear porch. You will have access to the neighborhood park/beach directly across from the house. Guests do not have access to the neighbors' private docks.

Additional Things to Note~

-The game room is not heated. We are working on a way to add heating to this finished Florida room!
-Though the lower unit tenant is very quiet and sweet, you may hear footsteps from time to time.
-Guests will not have access to the neighbors private docks.
-Though we love furry friends, we are not a pet-friendly vacation home.

This adorable lake home welcomes you with gorgeous views of all sports Lake Orion. It has one bedroom on the main floor with a queen bed and office space. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the other has 1 set of full over full bunk beds. The two bedrooms share a Jack and Jill bathroom with a standup shower. The living room is spacious and has a large sectional couch, a beautiful stone gas fireplace, amazing views of the lake and a large 70 inch TV with Apple TV. The multi-tiered back deck boasts 180 degree views of the lake, an outdoor dining table, a sectional couch, a propane fire table and a newly added 6 person hot tub! Whether you love swimming, fishing, ice skating or relaxing. This home has something for everyone all year long!

- "My family and I have stayed at vacation lake houses every year on the west side of the state, this was our first trip to the middle part of Michigan. And this was without a doubt the best place we stayed. It was all the comfort and hominess of up north, with all the conveniences of being close to everything. The home was perfect in every way. The beach had great fishing and the swimming. The bottom was sandy and not all muddy like at so many places we've stayed. The hot-tub was a great way to relax every night and the views of the lake we're stunning. I highly recommend staying here. If there's an opening TAKE IT. One important detail is that this house is on a cul-de-sac in a quiet neighborhood, and my relationship with the neighbors is important to me. I ask that guests please:

(1) Be mindful of quietness, inside and outside. 9:30 pm outdoor quiet hour, sound carries very well over the lake. Please do not book this place if you're looking for a place to be outdoors and loud at night! Inside, there could be people on the first floor, so being mindful of noise levels on the floor and at night is essential. If your group has a lot of noisy playful kids or cannot maintain quiet at night, it probably isn't a match.

(2) Keep cars in the driveway or on the property (no street parking please)

(3) No events, and NO additional visitors unless previously agreed!!! I know how perfect the space looks for events, and I ask that all guests communicate how you intend to use the space (and I do have outdoor security cameras for the house).

This home is a beautiful place to stay, it is NOT a party spot, event center or gathering place. This is a quiet and intimate cul-de-sac street. All neighbors have been here for many years, many are retired, and are friendly and would love to say hello! Please treat them with the same respect you would treat your own neighbors. The most important thing to them is quietness at night.

So, if you’re looking for a place to feel free staying up late and being loud and rowdy by the bonfire at night, this is not a match. If you’re looking to enjoy the property and lake, and can respects neighbors as your own, this is a match.
