Whistling Kite Cottage is situated on a cliff top overlooking the beautiful Murray River. The cottage is located on a vineyard in a quiet, secluded area. It has recently been renovated and would suit couples wishing to relax, bush walk, enjoy the river and be close to nature.
The township of Waikerie is only 7kms away with 2 supermarkets and the cottage is a suitable base to visit the Riverland, including the wine and wetland centre, Banrock Station which is only 20 minutes drive. The cottage features a complete kitchen, reverse cycle air-conditioning, wood combustion heater, ceiling fans, TV, barbecue, outdoor deck, two bedrooms with queen beds and two bathrooms (separated by the living area).

Not suitable for children due to the close proximity to the cliffs.

If you're seeking a party house, I regret to inform you that this is NOT the place for such gatherings.
Daggers Den, is a spectacular and spacious family holiday retreat that can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests. Nestled just a two-hour drive from Adelaide, it offers a serene riverside location with incredible views and private river access. Additionally, local pubs are just a short 12 minute drive away, and there's ample parking space for up to 10 cars at the rear of the property.
Amidst a picturesque gum-studded landscape, you can relish the tranquility and even spot the occasional kangaroo, echidna, or tawny frogmouth that frequent the area.
The upper level features six bedrooms, a generously equipped kitchen with dual microwaves, oven, electric hotplate, coffee pod machine, two fridges, and a double drawer dishwasher. The dining, lounge, and sitting areas lead to an expansive balcony that offers breathtaking views of the river and its sandstone cliffs. Beautiful property! Creating wonderful memories! Arguably one of the best views on the Murray River. Importantly facing east so you are not looking into the afternoon sun. Bush views opposite and cliff views across the water to the south.
Summer fun and winter beauty. There is a large, grassed area to the waters edge with a new fire pit area for use outside of the fire ban season only and with lots of shade from a river red gum. Located approx. 2 hour drive north east of Adelaide and only a few minutes drive into Morgan where there are two Hotels. The Commercial Hotel and The Terminus Hotel, the very popular Marr’s Bakery, a small Supermarket, Hardware Store, Ambulance Station, Motel, Caravan Park, Ferry, large new interactive adventure playground, BMX track, Museum, Morgan Dirt Kart Club/Morgan Go-Kart track, a Tourist Information Centre, a Service Station with cafe (wood oven pizza) and other fast food options available if required. Approx. 44km to Waikerie where there are two large Supermarkets if you need to stock up. It’s 25km to the historic Mount Mary Hotel ( Closed until further notice) or 67km to the historic Overland Corner Hotel.
It’s a two minute drive back down our road to Brenda Parks own private boat ramp.

History Of Portee Station Homestead
First settled in 1841, Moorundie the area that we now call Sandy Beach, is the site of the home of explorer Edward John Eyre, who was given the job of Protector of the Aborigines. Due to the sandbars at that point in the river it became a place to cross the river on the road to Sydney, eventually developed into the bustling township of Sturt, with a Police Station and Army Barracks, until a flood washed it away in 1870 and the town was moved to it’s present day site of Blanchetown. Portee Station now encompasses tourism for international and domestic guests.
Portee Homestead is located in the Murray River International Dark Sky Reserve.
All astronomy enthusiasts who love stargazing, bring your telescopes and binoculars and you will see some of the darkest skies and brightest stars in the world and have first class views of the Milky Way in South Australia at Portee.
The homestead has eight bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms, 7 queen beds and 8 single beds. There is an additional wheelchair access bathroom and additional toilet separate to the bedrooms in the breezeway of the homestead.
A floorplan of the homestead can be sent to you on request.
The Riverland and Murraylands have restrictions for bringing up fruit and some fruiting vegetables, due to fruit fly infestations in the region.
The current restrictions are that no fruit or seeded fruiting vegetables are permitted to come up to the Riverland from northern SA Riverland areas, the Barossa and Adelaide. An itemised receipt from a most shopping retailers are no longer accepted.
If there is a random inspection just before Blanchetown and you bring in fruit and fruiting vegetables that are restricted, they will confiscate it and fine you $400.
Please check the following link before your arrival to Portee to see what the current restrictions are, I would hate for anyone to be fined at a random inspection.

We also have a fire pit near the creek if you want to have a campfire.

Please advise if you want a trailer load of firewood, as you need to book it directly with my husband so he can organise it before your arrival.
Please note campfires are only permitted during non bushfire season.
We have a full commercial kitchen for all your cooking needs.
The kitchen has a Waldorf commercial stovetop/oven with eight gas burners, a griddle and two large ovens, Waldorf gas grill, two 5.5l air fryers, Sunbeam stand mixer, electric wok, Delonghi Nespresso coffee pod machine with milk frothers, two toasters, two kettles, slow cooker, rice cookers, food processor, Birko urn, industrial coffee dripalator and deep fryer.
We supply some oils, instant coffee, teabags, sugar, salt & pepper, tea towels, garbage bags and paper towel.
For your outside cooking needs we have a four burner flattop gas bbq and two Matador heatbead kettles. We supply some heatbeads and firelighters.
For outdoor entertaining we have four 6-8 seater wooden tables with chairs.
For our guests we have one double kayak, two single kayaks, a paddle board and some life jackets. Please note we do not supply life jackets for small children.

Our house has been rebuilt to high end luxury on the riverfront.
This property is located on the River Murray between 2 Locks in Brenda Park and it is a 5 minute drive from Morgan, and 2 hour drive from Adelaide.
Absolute riverfront with private jetty, sandy beach, large lawn area to river front and stunning uninterrupted river views whether you choose to dine inside or out.
This property:
- Sleeps 9 people, absolutely NO camping, swags or extra people allowed.

Sunset Rivershack is a beautiful and spacious 4 bedroom house perfectly located in Murbko on the Murray River.
This property has some of the best views and amenities in the area situated within the exclusive "Ridgeway Private Estate" halfway between Morgan and Blanchetown. The location ensures quiet waters often having the river to yourself!
Set on a 2000 sq mt block, with a 30mt frontage the home sits 50 mtrs back from the river above the 1956 flood level, giving it spectacular views over the river and cliffs beyond. The property has it's own private grassed ski beach directly in front of the home, allowing space for 2 boats if required. Throughout the day there is always an area of the ski beach which is in shade. The grass gives way to a sandy entry into the water, which starts shallow - great for the kids to swim - and slowly drops off. There is a double width cement boat ramp about 50 mtrs from the home within the estate. Why share a ski beach with others when you can have ours to yourself.
The outdoor area of this home is what makes this house stand out from the rest! There is a large deck with comfortable seating to enjoy those beautiful sunset river views throughout all seasons of the year. For those colder nights, there is a large firepit that overlooks the property and the river.
Our beautiful home away from home has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, with an open plan living area. The living area leads out onto the decked veranda area, completely enclosed with balustrade. On the decking is a large table with seating for all guests and a flat plate BBQ.

This home has a stunning cacti garden and lawn areas for you to enjoy. Please be warned that cacti aren’t in fact cosy!! So please don’t touch and stick to the path.
There is a driveway up to a covered parking space but it is steep and narrow so if you are not confident we suggest parking on the street below the house.
The house is centrally located to the main street with shops, hotels and cafes only a short stroll down the road, while also being within a 5 minute walk to the Mighty Murray River.

This accommodation is a cozy and comfortable , secured , large farm shed converted into two-bedroom residence located in Sunlands, which is situated on the banks of the Murray River in Riverland. The property offers breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards, the river, Dark sky, orange farms surrounding the vineyard, and the natural beauty of the region.
The bedrooms are spacious and well-appointed, with a comfortable queen-sized bed and high-quality bedding to ensure a good night's sleep. The bathroom is modern and well-equipped, with a shower, toilet, and vanity.
The living area is open-plan, comprising a lounge, extra queen bed, dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen is fitted with modern appliances, including a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, making it easy for guests to prepare their own meals.

- "Wouldnt call it romantic but Loved the little setup and location. Was perfect to come back chill out & cool off after the day on the river had excellent air conditioner with room to put our Jet Ski undercover and locked away for the night. Is 10minutes from the main town, Waikerie and 2ks from Ramco. Would suggest a TV in the main room, as we had a weekend of 40degress and was unable to sit in the designated lounge area, although it was very nicely set out. Also A few extra kitchen cooking supplies is needed ie: cooking utensils- tongs, spatula, plates, bowls and dish Cloths, unless state to bring own. Over all We would definitely come back thankyou"

Located in Holder, the home is a 7 minute drive from Waikerie’s town center, within walking distance of Maize Island Lagoon Conservation Park and a 2 minute drive from the Waikerie Ski Beach at Holder Bend.
Brock’s B&B is the perfect location for family or friends to spend quality time together. There are three bedrooms, one with a queen bed, and two with two sets of single beds. The kitchen is fully equipped for all stays with an oven, microwave, kettle, juicer and two fridges/freezers, toasters, crockery, cutlery, cookware, and glassware.
Two small dining tables, one for four people and one for three people. The lounge room features a large leather L-shaped couch with a smart TV, as well as a bookshelf filled with movies for all ages. The bathroom is fully functional, with a separate toilet, and laundry which contains cleaning supplies, a washing machine and clothes line great for longer stays!
Brock’s B&B is fully airconditioned for the Riverland’s warmer days, while a wood fire is ready to ignite for the cooler nights, making any stay comfortable.
Shaded outdoor dining, with a BBQ overlooking the garden and vineyard will have you feeling at home during your stay at Brock’s B&B.

- "We absolutely loved our stay over the Easter long weekend. Communication between the owners was amazing. When we needed anything or had any questions we got prompt response each time. The location of the houseboat is stunning. Such a beautiful spot. So much bird life around and stunning sunsets to watch. The houseboat itself is lovely. Plenty of space and each bedroom had its own bathroom which is just luxury! We were guided to a boat ramp only just a km down the road to use and there was a spot to be able to tie the boat up to on the side of the houseboat. The best part was that we were able to share it with our much loved dogs as well. We were able to take them for a walk each morning just around the property. There was a beautiful lawned area for them to do their business and there was the option to be able to lock them on just the outside of the boat. Plus they were able to sleep inside with us as well! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will 100% be back to stay again!"

Rivergums Homestead is rustic, homely and a little old school! We don’t offer a dishwasher (a great chance to bond with family and friends in a very large commercial kitchen).

The original homestead built was in 1890 and the homestead has had an interesting history. Once a pig farm, much later after renovations it was a restaurant. The Murray River Princess used to dock out the front and the guests would wander up the lovely, grassed lawn for a Devonshire tea in our very large beer garden.
Those days have passed and the property is now owned and managed by Karen and Peter Stock who reside in Adelaide.
The Murray River is accessible for boating, jet skis, canoes and kayaking enthusiasts. Should you require use of a boat ramp, public ramps can be found within 2 kms of the homestead – more details after your booking is confirmed.
The generous size of the homestead makes Rivergums the perfect retreat for family and friends to gather for holidays and celebrations. Perfect for spiritual gatherings, business training and team building. We’ve even hosted a number of weddings.

Bedroom 5 has a small swap library and a cupboard full of games to enjoy.
Self-catering is a breeze in our full commercial kitchen and there is plenty of room to store your food, drinks and treats in our large cool room. Large BBQ also provided in our beer garden. Our kitchen has enough dishes and cutlery for 40+ people.
LINEN - Please note the hire rate does not include linen (sheets and towels). Each bed has mattress protector, pillows, quilts, and light blankets. Please bring your own linen.
FRUIT and VEGETABLE RESTRICTIONS - Please note there are restrictions for up fruit and fruiting vegetable to the Riverland. Please check South Australian government website for the current restrictions before arrival.
