- "Pretty dead, but was there for a purpose " - "This was a strange place. I had called ahead and the person I spoke to confirmed our reservation but did not say anything about check in. We arrived after 6 and there was no office. We called and the person we spoke to said we should have filled out a google form weeks ago (we had booked the day before). Explaining we had booked the previous day on Expedia they were no help at all and told us we should go to the recreation center. We found that and the people at the desk make a few phone calls and were also confused. They finally sent us to another building that we finally found someone who could provide us with a key. When asked where to park they said they didn’t know. The room was large and clean but the walls were so thin we could clearly hear the people in the next room. There was also a group of youth that ran up and down the hallways until the wee hours of the night. It seemed more like a doem than a hotel. Strange place and I was happy to leave the next morning. Luxury lakefront 3 bedroom (sleeps 8), 2.5 bath beautiful cottage located at Twin Lakes Beach, which is 40 minutes from the Perimeter Hwy & #6 Hwy in Manitoba. The 4-season cottage comes complete with a main floor open concept layout, large dining area, gourmet kitchen, electric fireplace, 55" smart TV, central air conditioning and free Wifi. There are two bedrooms with bunkbeds with a lower double bed. The primary suite has a queen bed and ensuite complete with shower. The games room has a smart TV, pool table, many games, puzzles, etc. A washer & dryer are also available along with all bedding & towels. Patio doors lead to a large deck, to enjoy fabulous sunsets, and is covered over approximately half. Two BBQ's, luxury seating with fire table & hot tub are on the upper deck. The lower deck leads to a firepit area and above ground pool. There is another smaller deck on the east side, which also has a firepit. There are 2 kayaks, a canoe, paddle boats available for lake enjoyment along with a dock for fishing or launching the watercraft. A play structure with small house, slide & swings are available for young children's enjoyment. If you're into fishing Lake Manitoba has abundant fish, which you could fish from the dock or canoe. There are two public beaches nearby and Lake Manitoba Resort is minutes away that offers a 9-hole golf course and a full service, licensed restaurant.

This private suite is situated at the edge of a small city along the banks of an oxbow on the Assiniboine River. The massive picture window in the living room frames a view of the private deck and river that seems to erase the walls of the space and transport the outside in.

This suite is on the lower level of a large home. It includes a large living/dining space, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with rainfall shower and laundry facilities, and one bedroom with a king bed. The living room has a pull out couch for extra sleeping space. The suite and its deck are private and for guest use only. Guests are welcome to share the yard, hot tub, sauna, and paddle boat.

While we love hosting children for the joy they bring, we are not set up as a specifically child-friendly space and request that adults monitor their children in the suite and on the yard as there is water access from the grass. We also do not have cribs, highchairs, or other small-child focused amenities.

We know that pets are also valuable members of our families and we love to welcome them. In order to keep our space inviting for future guests who may have allergies, we charge a $50 pet fee to cover the extra cleaning costs associated with the deep clean needed after a pet stay.

The Ox + Bow suite is accessed via a door with keypad lock that will be set with a personalized lock code. There is parking provided at the front of the home.

Portage la Prairie is a small city in the Central Plains Region of Manitoba, Canada. The community sits on the Assiniboine River, and is a 15 minute drive to Delta Marsh and Beach on Lake Manitoba. Portage is home to festivals, recreation opportunities, a golf course, sports tournaments, and museums including the Indian Residential School Museum of Canada.

Our vacation rental is located about 1 km outside of the city proper on a quiet rural cul-de-sac on the banks of an oxbow of the Assiniboine River. There is no through traffic and the street has access to a myriad of walking and biking trails. Our neighbourhood is located on paved roads with easy access to both the city and the highway. We are fully serviced by delivery services for restaurants as well as taxis.

The Ox + Bow is located on Treaty 1 territory and is the ancestral home of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples and is the homeland of the Métis Nation. Our family is descended from Mennonite refugees who were invited here by the Canadian government and welcomed by the ancestral keepers of this land. We are working to incorporate the 94 calls to action from the Truth and Reconciliation Committee into our business.

- "We enjoyed our time in St. Laurent. Slava had the cabin ready for us and it was a beautiful, restful time away for my wife and myself. The view from the cabin onto Lake Manitoba is breathtaking. The sunsets were beautiful. Granted, they were at 10:00 at night, but they were still beautiful. The biggest challenge was finding the house. That is because the road the cabin is located on is now called "Chem Venice Road N". For the left turn on "Chem Venice Road S," there is a smaller sign that says "Twin Lakes Beach Road South.: There is no sign that says "Twin Lakes Beach Road North." Also, there is the house number 29 on a wooden sign with a pelican, there is also a new lot designation of "66" in white letters on a blue background. Once we figured that out, it was all good. I don't know if we will get back to Manitoba, but if we do, we will definitely look at staying at this cabin again."
