This beautiful log cottage sits on Fortune River and is moments from a beautiful beach. The property is in immaculate condition and finished with all modern conveniences. This is an amazing place to get away from it all, relax on the deck and be at peace. World class dining, golf, deep sea fishing and beaches are all within a short drive.

There are 3 bedrooms: the master bedroom is very spacious with a huge king size bed, ensuite bathroom, sitting area and walkout patio doors to the large deck overlooking the river. The other 2 bedrooms both have 2 single beds. Perfect for families with a second full bathroom off the main living area. You'll love watching the river from the deck and bbq'ing in the evening. You will also enjoy cooking and entertaining in the open concept kitchen/living room/dining room with propane fireplace.

Washer and dryer are on-site, as well as a propane BBQ. All towels and linens are included. Our cottage is completely ready for your family, you'll just need to pick up your groceries.

A kayak is available for exploring the river - sunset paddles are an incredible way the end a glorious day in PEI.

They were bad in other spots as well and this had a lot to do with the conditions and time of year. Small pets are welcome, but please keep them off of the furniture and clean up any outside messes asap. This helps keep our place clean for the next guests. Drive right up to park next to the cottage off the red dirt road. Access to the private boat slip is included with the rental of the cottage.

Riverside Retreat cottage is 8 minutes from the picturesque fishing village of Souris, where you will find shopping, dining, groceries, fuel, and the car ferry to the Magdalen Islands. Also 20 minutes to the East, you will find the beautiful "singing sands" at Basin Head beach. The tuna fishing capital of the world is located 25 minutes East at North Lake Harbour where you can book deep sea fishing excursions. Fine dining is 3 minutes down the road at Chef Michael Smith's famous "Inn At Bay Fortune". Also close by is the newly opened restaurant "Strait Goods", great for breakfast if you don't feel like cooking. There’s plenty of space to spread out and play whatever outdoor games you enjoy!

The beautiful white sand beach is accessed by a short walk along the cottage lane and down a sturdy set of stairs. A generous number of beach towels and blankets are provided for your use along with some beach chairs and umbrellas.

Spry One has a Weather Wall Screened porch entry off your private deck to enjoy the outdoors in a vaulted ceiling with skylights and whitewashed pine wood ceiling and walls. The 11' high ceiling you enter into gives the living, dining and kitchen an open spacious feel and is highlighted by tall windows overlooking the water 100 feet away. Looking out on the south side of the building towards the waters of the Northumberland Strait it is easy in and out to the parking area and the privacy that an end unit provides. High end finish on the kitchen with quartz counter tops, induction range, French door refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, toaster, and mixer to enjoy cooking int your well equipped kitchen. A short staircase leads to both guestroom and master bedroom both with king bed. The bedrooms open to a brick garden terrace on the north side looking up the peninsula towards Sally's Beach which is a seven minute walk from your unit. Both bedrooms and living space have separate control over the heat pump AC unit that allows for individual control.

Our family cottage is perched on the hillside of my father's childhood farmland overlooking the Souris River. It is a bright and cozy cottage with a master bedroom and an open loft, where 4 more beds and a day bed are situated. Enjoy the beautiful views of the rolling hills and the river (watch for the eagle flying over the river), sit around a bonfire, or head to the beach! Only minutes away from the Rails to Trails for biking/hiking, 15 min. to Basin Head and Red Point Beaches, and 5 min. to Main Street for groceries, gas, etc. We are 10 min from Rollo Bay Fiddling Grounds and 30 minutes to some of PEI's top-rated golf courses - Dundarave, Crowbush and Brudenell!
