When exploration is at 5K altitude in spring, there could be very low temperature, which requires winter clothes. Provide a welcome drink (non alcoholic). Cons: pool is always cold despite it being 90 degrees outside, the restaurant is not good. Had the lamb which was the most expensive thing on the menu and there were literally 3 bites of meat on there. Also before our arrival they messaged to ask if we want food made before the kitchen closes and when we wanted to order they said due to issues kitchen was actually closed. Upon checkin we were also told we had a massage included but had to book in advance. When we went to book they told us we didn’t need booking and to come back the next day at a certain time. When we came they said we needed a booking and they wouldn’t have availability until after our checkout. It also turned out to just be a 5 or 10 minute head massage."

It was French style, so sometimes you would have to repeat a dish as the food was insufficient. The bed was a bit hard for my tasting but luckily the hotel had a pillow top which helped tremendously. The service was beyond amazing and very professional, everyone that worked at the hotel was very nice and helped the guests with any questions or needs they had, with a lot of goodwill and a smile on their faces. The tour guides were very nice folks, professional and very knowledgeable about Atacama and its mysteries and beauties and they all spoke very good English. However, this hotel is a little far from the town San Pedro de Atacama. We took the taxi going to/returning from the town; the taxi costs 3000 peso each way. - "We really enjoyed our stay at Atacama Loft & Glamp. It was so beautiful to be outside in the dessert. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy. The 20 minute walk to town was worth the serenity. We were warm in bed with lots of blankets and an electric mattress pad, even with winter temps below 0C. We enjoyed making breakfast just as we liked with good ingredients. All the other guests were friendly and we could interact or not as we liked. Above all the bilingual (Spanish and English) host was extremely helpful with figuring tours and shuttles. We would definitely return."

- "Great stay" - "Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Room was a good size and nice & clean." - "Really beautiful place to stay with the comfiest beds and tasteful decor throughout! Lovely consistent hot water and delicious breakfast with fresh juice (the raspberry was delicious), yoghurt and made-to-order omelettes as a nice extra touch. It was perfect for me as I’m gluten intolerant so there was loads of choice! The kitchen is also huge and lovely and the hostel location, whilst 10 mins walk from the centre, isn’t a big deal at all! There are also free bicycles for rent, though nab one early as only half come with locks! The only things stopping this from getting a perfect 10/10 score from me were small things that are very easily fixed. They double booked my room so had to downgrade me, but that wasn’t a big deal for me as I was travelling solo. They also had construction work going on incl cutting cement blocks in the yard when I was there. It was really horrible to listen to and went on for hours (around 12noon to 7pm), spoiling my plans for a couple of afternoons where I hoped to chill in the hostel! I spoke to the owner when I saw him, explaining that it prompted me to consider moving hostels and he offered to cancel the work the next day, which was a relief. The hostel would also benefit from some fans in the room, as I was really hot with the windows wide open. Final thing is that the kitchen cooking facilities can only be used from 5pm so this may be an issue for some (it wasn’t really for me)."
