The host told us so, but once he arrived at 2 o'clock in the morning, which frightened us. The hostvis very accommodating and communication is good (I don't know if he knows English). Once, the driveway was flooded as the irrigation channel overflowed. Otherwise, a good budget option in San Pedro if you have a car."

We had to reach out via WhatsApp on day of check-in to be told the manager never received the reservation through VRBO and the property wasn’t available. We were told by VRBO customer service we had to ask the property manager to cancel the reservation and issue us the refund since it was non-refundable and they couldn’t reach the property manager either. When we received the refund, it was over 69 less than what we paid. The reservation which could not be upheld by the property manager was not only a major inconvenience during our travels and time wasted, but over two weeks later we are still waiting for the rest of the refund. VRBO insists that property manager has to be contacted for all refunds, even though the manager does not use the VRBO portal and the property wasn’t even available despite our reservation. You cannot book this property with any degree of confidence of the reservation being upheld or getting all of your money back when it isn’t. Note that we had to put ratings for other areas such as cleanliness even though we could not stay at the property, but we can ascertain that the place being available on the dates given in the listing is inaccurate. - "My husband, son, and I stayed here for 4 nights in March and very much enjoyed the experience. The house was far enough away from town to feel like we were "in the country" but close enough to easily walk, bike, or drive back to town. The house was clean, had two bedrooms and bathrooms, and a well stocked kitchen. We used the outdoor patio continuously, and never had problems with the wifi. My only suggestion would be for the house to be stocked with more and better linens. Atacama is a very dusty place, and we quickly went through the towels provided, and there is no washer and dryer. Also, the sheets on both beds were old, didn't fit the mattresses well, the pillows were lumpy, and the comforters very scratchy. Two new sets of linens for the bedrooms is all it would need. Warnings: the markets in Atacama are so tiny that many of the basic kitchen necessities were hard to find. If you really want to take advantage of this house and being able to cook your own meals, buy your groceries in Calama before you leave for Atacama. There are many dogs (and 1 cat) who visited the house. Our son loved them, fed them, and had constant company. If you don't like dogs, don't feed them! Like almost all rentals in Europe and South America, there are no screens on the windows. So if you want to cool the house down at night, you risk letting mosquitoes in. A few fans added to the bedrooms would be helpful."

You can reach San Pedro de Atacama coming from Calama, the nearest city with airport, at 100 km distance, by transfer that takes around 90 minutes; as well you can take a bus from Salta, Argentina, in a trip of around 11 hours; or from Uyuni, Bolivia, in a trip of around 10 hours.
The house is located at 400 meters from the Buses Terminal, in the southern exit.
The house is around 15 minutes walking from the main town, then is a quiet place to stay, without the bustle of the center.
