We knew when we rented the place that this would be a 5 minute walk from downtown, which was what we wanted. The only thing that we did not expect, totally out of the host's control, was that there is a lot of construction happening in Paracas and so there are not always paved roads or sidewalks on the walk between the hotel and downtown. We made the mistake of not getting a taxi from our drop off spot downtown to the hotel when we arrived, and despite the short distance it was difficult for us to get there. A cab between the hotel and downtown is 10 soles and well worth it when you have luggage. The host is happy to call one for you, and there are licenced cabs in Paracas you can easily book.
