You will stay in our 3 bedroom mountain home, nestled within our coffee farm, overlooking the spectacular Andes mountains. Minutes from Jardín, you will enjoy the tranquillity of the Colombian countryside in your own private finca; surrounded by nature but spoiled by the comforts of a beautiful country home. The entire finca is yours to explore; including walking trails, view points and access to a private river and waterfall. The Finca is well equipped with luxurious bedding, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful modern bathrooms, laundry facilities and Wifi. Mariposa is entirely yours as private accomodation. You will be greeted in Jardin by our on site hosts Daniel and Andrea, who will transport you by jeep or lead you in your own vehicle to Finca Mariposa. Daniel and Andrea have lived in the region their whole lives and will be your "go to" source for everything you need during your stay. If you choose, they can provide you with a wide variety of eco/agro tourism experiences (coffee tours, amazing jeep excursions into the mountains, bird watching, horse back riding, hikes to spectacular 'cascades' aka waterfalls). Their guiding experience and knowledge of the area is outstanding. Although the food in Jardin is wonderful (see our guest package for recommendations) we highly recommend you spoil yourself with Andrea's delicious cooking. Her hearty home made meals are inexpensive and not to be missed during your stay. Her cooking easily rivals the best Colombian "typico" food you will find anywhere in the country.

- "Just as we had hoped the stay to be with fabulous views, great food cooked by Daniel and Andrea along with an informative coffee tour right on the property. The only down side was the main road was not accessible so we had to drive a detour route that added 15 minutes to the drive from town and you do need a 4 wheel car if driving." - "This property is absolutely stunning. Incredible views and tranquility. We all enjoyed walking the hillside and checking out the coffee plants, fruits and birds. It was hands down the highlight of our 2 weeks travelling around Colombia. Daniel is the best!! So kind, helpful and hard working. He brought us vine ripened bananas and let us pick a ripe pineapple....they were so unbelievably tasty, fruit will never be the same! We had a lunch prepared by his wife and it was one of the best meals we had our whole trip. Lovely people. Bug repellant is a must - mosquitos ate me alive when I was silly enough to do yoga on the grass and I didn't feel a thing untill after. Transportation takes 20 min from the town centre and it's a bumpy ride up the mountain. We hired both jeeps and tuk tuks and preferred the latter. WiFi was strong, though we did lose internet for 8 hrs, but that was the entire area and not the property's fault. The only area for improvement is the water for showers. We followed the directions to get hot water and it was hot, but at very low pressure. Pressure is good if you like a cold shower though! We will definitely be back - this is such a special place in the most beautiful part of Colombia."

- "The Villa Serena listing description on Vrbo is flawless. I can attest it is clean, spacious, luxurious, and with the modern comforts of home. A feature that will never be overstated is 24 hours a day of relaxing sounds of flowing water. This home is at the intersection of 2 bubbling brooks and with the windows open or closed, I could hear paradise. When we arrived at Villa Serena we instantly fell in love with the place. We drove in through this gated driveway to this large patio space when we spied our hostess Sonya on top of a grand staircase. She came down to greet us with the greatest friendliness you can find in all of Antioquia. After our greetings we received a tour of this home which she built and is rightfully proud of. We as a family had all the intentions to be tourists of Jardin, however we were enchanted by the serenity of Villa Serena. By the time we left Jardin any intentions to be tourists almost dissolved in the swimming pool. It was hard, but we did peel ourselves away from Villa Serena because we got hungry, and with Sonya’s recommendations, we ate at some wonderful restaurants both inside and outside of Jardín. We also had the pleasure to meet Sonya’s sister, Elizabeth, who helps manage the property. She is as friendly as her sister and is also very helpful with information about Jardín.
