This is an old house, but entirely up to modern standards inside, with a friendly staff and warm feel. The room was cozy, looking out on the quiet main plaza with its church. We had dinner twice in the excellent restaurant. Breakfast was great - don't forget to make yourself fresh juice or even get eggs to order. There was even a small swimming pool, sauna, a desk with lounge chairs, a great view, and a bar. The Schluchsee was a bit low in water when we were there, but I imagine it is prettier when full, so we hiked around nearby Titisee instead. Highly recommended. "

The apartment is on the first floor of a three family house. The apartment is in very good condition as major renovations have been done in the house. A balcony on the west side and a balcony on the east side give you direct access to the fresh and clean Black Forest air. Both balconies are equipped with garden furniture so that you can enjoy a meal in the fresh air at any time. The apartment consists of a very well equipped kitchen (dishwasher, baking oven, ceramic hob, coffee machine, large fridge and refrigerated storage room). Our bright and modern apartment (42m²) has been completely renovated in the beginning 2016 and is located on the ground floor. The cozy living area features: radio, CD player, satellite TV, a pullout sofa that 2 additional people can sleep, a fully equipped kitchen with a small dishwasher, microwave, ceramic hob, oven, refrigerator, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, kitchen roll, tea towels and cleaning products as well as a dining space with up to 4 seats. The furnished terrace and the lawn have southern exposure and mountain view.

- "We felt totally at home in this property and were very sad to have to leave. We stayed for 5 nights just two of us and our dog. The living room was very spacious and the tv was great and a nice size. Really enjoyed watching all the German programmes but mostly we enjoyed the view of the Alps from the back of the property. I cannot emphasize how wonderful it was to see on a clear day. The view in general is excellent anyway and Schluchsee is only a few minutes away by car. A massive lake compared to Titisee. While the kitchen is small it had everything we needed to be able to cook in there. A small dishwasher, we did not use and a fridge. The bathroom was a nice size and the shower was wonderful and very powerful. The bed was extremely comfortable and bedroom a great size for us. The settee in the living room was so and I think it folds out to another bed, but we did not need this. The only minor downside to this apartment was that the lights in the living room and kitchen were very low and I bumped my head a few times on the lamps. Also the internet signal was sometimes quite weak downstairs so I had to stand on the stairs to get on the internet. I pointed these things out to the owner and they can be easily sorted anyway. It did not hamper our stay in the property as we found it totally lovely. The owner and her family were also very helpful. We also enjoyed watching the ducks trot past the house in the day time. All in all I cannot recommend this property enough and the fact that we had the free rail pass was a great idea, which we used. Infact we enjoyed ourselves that much we are already planning on returning at the end of the year. Truly a wonderful setting in a very clean and well maintained property"
