The inviting onsite bar opened promptly at 7am, providing complimentary morning coffee and tea, with the option to upgrade to espresso drinks and morning snacks (for a fee). Wine and other alcoholic beverages, as well as food, could be purchased and consumed in the bar or in the beautiful large lounge. The Ahwahnee Dining room - although pricey - reminded us of the Hogwart's dining hall, which was of course very enchanting, and we all thought the dinner food was excellent. Be sure to make dining reservations for any meals in the large dining room. We stayed in a Classic room, which I believe was "redone", and was luxurious in my opinion. There was a small fridge (bigger than a mini), as well as a very small seating area with a nespresso style coffee/hot water maker. There are no microwaves. Customer service was excellent. The wifi times users out after four hours, but can be immediately renewed. It was a bit spotty at times, but nothing we couldn't easily handle. We celebrated my 50th birthday here on a *non-holiday* January weekend, which turned out to be a great time to go as crowds were non-existent. The faucet tap of shower at the bathroom on the first floor is broken. My wife and I had to use one hand to hold the tap to have a hot water shower. The bedstead in the main bedroom on the 2nd floor is so fragile that it was broken in the morning of the second day. When I called the Management to report the problem and ask for help, nobody answered the phone. We got no response even I left messages for twice. We had to help another couple to move the mattress to the floor. Otherwise, they wouldn't have a space to sleep on the 2nd night. Except the above issues, the overall stay is comfortable."

Each cabin has a TV/DVD player. The TV has no programming, DVD only. There is a small DVD library to pick from or you can bring your own movies.
The kitchen has all the cookware and dinnerware that you will need to prepare and serve meals. The kitchen also has a microwave oven, toaster, blender, coffee grinder, and coffee maker.
The cabins are heated in the winter by propane heaters that look like wood-burning stoves. Both cabins have evaporative coolers that work great to keep the cabins cool during the summer.
Some cell phones work at the cabins. Verizon is the best. Each cabin has a land-line telephone for use during your stay.
There is satellite internet provided by HughesNet. There is a cap on the amount of bandwidth that is available. PLEASE DO NOT STREAM MOVIES OR WATCH VIDEOS AS IT WILL IMPACT GUESTS THAT ARRIVE AFTER YOU.

Grocery Stores/Markets near cabins – Crane Flat Gas Station/Market (8 miles), Yosemite Village Market (13 miles), El Portal Market on Hwy 140 (14 miles).

Hilltop Cabins practices good neighbor policies. A signed rental agreement and ID verification are required.

Rental of the Hideaway includes a required and limited Yosemite National Park vehicle access permit. Guests must still pay the Park Entry Fee.

The Hideaway is following current COVID-19 Health Guidelines with detailed cleaning, disinfecting, using HEPA vacuums, and a new HEPA Air Purifier sized for the guest house. All the linens and pillows are washed or changed for each guest stay. Detergents are used for cleaning, EPA/CDC approved hydrogen peroxide (asthma safer product) is used for disinfecting and windex products for the glass, windows and mirrors.

The Mountain Hideaway is full of designer grade appointments with CAL King bed, whirlpool bathtub, full kitchen, dining room, and private deck with barbecue. The Hideaway has central air conditioning and designated parking for a perfect retreat.

The comfortable living room includes remote control fireplace, HD satellite TV with networks, cable news, HBO, sports, movies, and Sirius radio.

WiFi is included at the Hideaway. We have the Starlink system with high-speed internet allowing video streaming from your favorite providers on your own devices.

A full kitchen and breakfast bar is provided with all the cookware, plates and utensils you'll need for a quick breakfast or gourmet meal. It's complete with gas stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. The dining area is surrounded by 180 degree mountain views.

The luxurious bath suite includes a 6' whirlpool bathtub for 2, Italian marble shower, radiant floor heat and morning light through private windows. The Hideaway is located in a forested mountain community within the gates of Yosemite Park.

The Hideaway is a luxury house for 2 but can accommodate up to 3 with the extra guest sleeping on a portable mattress on the floor in the living room area. Our property is a unique home and may not be suitable for children under 4 yrs old due to open stairs, fireplace and steep mountain terrain surrounding the Hideaway. There is a $25 or $35 (depending on the season) per night, per extra guest for the 3rd person or child staying at our cottage. The floor plan is an open design with bedroom above the living room.

Due to COVID-19 Operating Guidelines, only 7-day stays may use the laundry room in the cottage.

Check in and Check out times have changed due to the additional time needed to clean and prep the cottage for your safety within COVID-19 Guidelines.

Check-in is at 5pm and check-out is 10am. We will accommodate other check-in requests if possible. Plan on additional time to drive thru the Park to arrive at the Hideaway.

Yosemite Mountain Hideaway is located at 6000' elevation in Yosemite West. This unique community is located within the gates of the Park with the best central location for day tripping to Yosemite Valley, Badger Pass Ski, Glacier Point, Wawona and the Big Trees.

The high county of Tuolumne Meadows is a 90-minute drive thru mountain vistas, high alpine lakes and forests of giant sequoia trees.

Skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing are a short drive to Glacier Point where you can rent all the gear you need for an epic winter adventure.

Cell service is very good for Verizon at the Hideaway. There is no Cell service for other carriers. Sorry, it's a remote mountain location. A land-line telephone with local and long distance service is included.

Royal Retreat is a modern home. You can feel the care that went into each detail, from the rustic Shaker-style cabinets and doors to the handmade wooden staircase. One of the unique features is you do not climb stairs to access the front door. This is rare in our area; most rentals are on a hill, and you haul your bags up flights of stairs to enter. Also unique is central air conditioning for your comfort, more functional than mini-splits and not common in our area. Royal Retreat's guest bedroom, which offers a king-size bed, is on the first floor with a bathroom right across the hall, making it perfect for guests who are less mobile.

In terms of amenities, Royal Retreat offers luxury upon luxury. The home is fully equipped - towels, linens, dishes, cookware. You only need to bring yourself, your food/drink, and a good time!

Royal Retreat offers beautiful views of the forest from its rooms. The living room and loft are especially relaxing; both receive ample sunlight and showcase peaceful views of the trees surrounding the property. If you want to grill, the covered deck gives you the luxury of being outside, while still providing shelter from the sun or rain.

Cell Service: There is NO cell service at our home. We provide a landline phone with long distance calling options. We can advise you on areas of the park with cell service. Wi-Fi calling is available to support the use of your cell phone without cell signal.

Internet and Wi-Fi: We live in a remote area. Internet is Starlink Satellite. Due to the forested and mountainous location, certain functions such as live video (i.e. Zoom) are generally limited and performance will vary.

Maximum occupancy: 4 humans, any ages. (5 humans low season Nov 1 - Mar 31, or when otherwise offered in the listing details). When maximum occupancy is listed at 4, one infant under 6 months old may be added to this, at no charge (no extra guest fee). Humans over 6 months old must be booked as children so we can charge for them according to our policy. When maximum occupancy is listed as 5, all humans, including infants under 6 months, count towards this maximum, but infants under 6 months are no charge.

We stayed in July so it was hot during the day, but at night it cooled off enough that we could open the many windows and let the breeze in which bought with it the wonderful scent of the Incense Cedars growing all around the house. The beds are very comfortable, and the bedrooms are spacious. Kitchen is laid out well and has plenty of dinnerware, glasses, cups, etc. We spent a lot of time on the big back deck which was a great place to relax or dine after a day of hiking. The houses are close together so you will hear your neighbors, but everyone quieted down by 10 or so while we were there per the neighborhood rules. One of my favorite features was the big mud room entrance where you can sit on a bench and take off your dusty boots before coming in. Plenty of hooks to hang your packs too. ✔ Normal Footstep Sounds from Above – As this is a lower unit, you may hear occasional footfall from the home above. We’ve built with soundproofing, and past guests have been satisfied, but please expect some normal sounds of occupancy.
✔ Who This Home is Best Suited For – Serenity Suite is designed for active couples who want an adventure-first experience. If your goal is to stay inside all day or have an entertainment-heavy trip, this may not be the best fit.

Need a relaxing refuge to retreat to after a day of adventuring among the natural wonders of Yosemite National Park? Our warm and inviting home is located inside the park gates equidistant from the celebrated features of Yosemite: the namesake Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point, the Mariposa Grove of giant sequoias and 800 miles of hiking trails. Over and over guests tell us that when they come back at the end of the day, they feel like they are coming home.

Alpine Escape is a 760 square foot (70 square meter), one-bedroom apartment. You will enjoy a fully-equipped kitchen with full-size, quality appliances, granite countertops and a full complement of cooking equipment (pots, pans, coffee maker, blender, and so on). Knotty alder cabinets in the kitchen, bath and bedroom and knotty alder doors and trim throughout give a warm feel to the home. We live upstairs in our own apartment while you have the ground floor with a completely separate entrance.

For your comfort, we have central heat (propane) and a gas fireplace to keep you warm in winter and air conditioning (Fujitsu mini-split) to keep you cool on hot days.

The living/dining area has a table for four, a large sofa and a 47" flat-screen television for watching movies from our DVD collection or streaming on Roku, Netflix or Paramount Plus.

The bedroom features a queen bed with a built-in knotty alder closet. An alcove off the living room provides bedding for up to two additional guests on a daybed and pullout trundle with memory foam mattresses. The trundle is at floor level, so it is great for younger kids, but perhaps not so great for older adults! Alpine Escape is the perfect size for a couple or a family with one or two children. It can work for four adults if the bedding is acceptable, but we don't recommend it for two couples traveling together.

Outside you have a small, covered patio and a sitting area with a pergola and a sunshade where guests often enjoy breakfast or an afternoon glass of wine.

We are near the end of a quiet street, the perfect starting point for an evening stroll. Some winter mornings, we've woken to the laughter of young kids happily sledding down the road in front of our house (and observant parents keeping their eyes open for the occasional vehicle). There are places nearby to go for walks with excellent birding and wildflowers, including what may be the best display of Evening Primroses in the entire park right in our front yard (in the early 1900s the Evening Primroses were a major attraction in Yosemite Valley and the subject of some of the first hand-tinted color photos ever taken, but there are now only a handful scattered around the Valley). There are some good, flat and steep running and walking trails at the top of the neighborhood, about a five-minute drive away.

But of course, you are coming to Yosemite for the soaring granite cliffs, massive sequoia trees and tremendous views. Yosemite West is located inside the park entrance, and sits near an intersection of the roads leading to the park's most famous features: Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point and Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. These popular park destinations are all within 15-18 miles (30-35 minutes) from Yosemite West in three different directions. The Badger Pass ski area is only seven miles away providing access to Yosemite's winter wonders, including XC ski and snowshoe trails, as well as lift-served skiing and snowboarding. If you're looking to eat out, the restaurants of Yosemite Valley are about 30 minutes away, while the Wawona Hotel, which welcomed Theodore Roosevelt on his 1903 trip to Yosemite, is about 30 minutes in the opposite direction.

We also pride ourselves on our depth of knowledge of the park and our willingness to share that knowledge. Since 1985, we have been coming to the park for the world-class rock climbing and have been living here full time since April 2003. We're hikers, climbers, backcountry skiers and wildflower enthusiasts and general naturalists. In past years, we have worked as Assistant Manager of the Yosemite Mountaineering School running the hiking program (Theresa), a park ranger (Tom), ski instructors (both). Through those experiences, and through helping our guests over the years, we have wealth of information that we are willing to share to help you make the most of your time in Yosemite whether it's a couple of days or a couple of weeks!

Note also: we have a security camera that overlooks the front yard and the road. This helps us see that guests have arrived safely. When we are gone, it also lets us know when guests have left so we can let the cleaner know people have left and he doesn't have to keep swinging by to see if he can clean yet. And finally the public works plowing supervisor uses the camera to see if he needs to send a plow crew. Only authenticated users have access (that is, this is not a public webcam).

We call our cabin, The Ahweanee,' because we designed it in the motif of the grand Ahwahnee Hotel, but at only 1,250 square feet of house and another 1,250 square feet of deck, it is so much smaller. Master bedroom has a queen bed plus den. There is also a sofa bed in the great room with an extra mattress for the sofa bed stored in the master closet.

- "Staying in Yosemite and close to the valley (25 min) makes the trip so much more enjoyable. We could get anywhere within the park in about an hour and avoided the long entrance lines. There was also a lot of wildlife off the deck which we loved seeing. Unit is very clean and owners are very responsive. We would definitely recommend!" - "Cabin is in the park.
