The cabin has two bedrooms upstairs. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom has two twin beds. We also have one high-quality twin-sized air mattresses available. Downstairs, there's a full kitchen, bathroom, living room with fireplace, TV/ DVD and a large selection of family movies, board games, and books. The dining area accommodates 6.

Summer activities: Pinecrest Lake is a terrific place to spend the day swimming, boating, fishing, or hiking. You can rent kayaks, paddle boats, fishing boats, and party boats at the marina. There's a snack bar that serves burgers and soft serve ice cream, a general store, and a sporting goods store conveniently located at the lake.

The Steam Donkey restaurant serves up delicious lunch and dinner and has a full bar. The Serene Bean, an outdoor coffee stand, is open year round.

In the evening, there is an outdoor amphitheater under the pines that features first run movies. This overlooks the lake and has a snack bar that serves popcorn, hot chocolate, and more. It's so much fun.

Paddle Board rentals are available at Heidi's Ski Shop.

Winter Activities: Dodge Ridge Ski Resort is 15 miles up the road. There is a lodge to relax in and a lot of trails to explore. Grab some lunch at the Creekside Cafe or a beer at the Boulder Bar.

Leland Sno Park is about 25 miles from the cabin. It's a great place to take your kids sledding in a great open area. Traffic is directed by employees of the Sno Park, and there is a lodge that serves snacks and warm drinks.

There's a seasonal, indoor ice skating rink that you can walk to right across the street from the cabin!

Further up the road are great fishing spots to explore and Donnell Vista, a stunning overlook 30 scenic miles from the cabin.

Only one hour to the quaint town of Murphy's, wine tasting, restaurants, and shopping. Calaveras Big Trees State Park is further up Hwy 4 where you can view an amazing grove of giant sequoias.

The cabin is a 1.5- hour drive to Yosemite's north entrance. Be sure to stop at the historic Iron Door Saloon for dinner on your way home!

In the summer months guests can enjoy Pinecrest Lake which is a 5 minute drive from the cabin. Rent kayaks, fishing boats, and pontoons, take out our complimentary paddleboards, swim, read, hit the snack shack or general store on your way to hike the Pinecrest Lake trail (3.5 miles around the lake).

On weekends it is best to be early!! Weekdays are easier. There are beautiful rivers to explore nearby as well, for trail hikes and swimming holes!
In the winter months, Dodge Ridge ski resort is just 10 minutes away! We recommend you carry snow chains or have 4 wheel drive. Our road is plowed daily but it is important to know that you may need to shovel snow if it snows overnight on your vehicle.

- "The home is beautifully decorated as shown in photos and were constantly impressed throughout our stay with the little touches such as snacks and wine, books and games for all ages, plenty of seating in the patio backed with lots of trees. It was such a quaint home for a short retreat away with our little girls. I love how there was a frame tv and the chairs swivel. Their decor was on point. Only downside was the cleanliness related to the dishes. I found a few dishes in the cabinet that were not clean, one was even stacked with a few tablespoons of either sugar or salt. But other than that, this was a wonderful stay and we have told our family and friends and plan to stay again in the future!"

The Queen guest room has a large closet and the bathroom is right across the hall. Guest bathroom has shower/tub combo.

The Kids Room is a camp-out themed mountain haven sure to make your kiddos excited. Projector available with dvd player, HDMI/TV Stick/AV/Bluetooth. No kids? The couch in this room folds out to a queen sleeper. Let us know ahead of time if you would like the single beds removed and the sleeper bed made up.

PLEASE NOTE: This home sleeps 6 comfortably but we will allow 8 guests considering there are 2 futons in the living area. Please be aware that these may be great for kids but adults may find them to be less than satisfactory.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you should need to prepare meals. There is a KEURIG coffee maker (K-cup or full pot) and electric tea kettle. Condiments, coffee, sugar, TAZO tea, and creamer included. Starter pack of paper towels and toilet paper included. There is a wet bar in the kitchen area as well.

Dining table has seating for four. Room for 2 more at the breakfast bar. Extra foldable table and chairs available upon request.

The living area has a big-screen smart TV with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime etc. and a wood burning fireplace.

Washer and dryer available.

Outside is a fire pit with seating for 6, gazebo with picnic table, hot tub that seats 6, charcoal BBQ and gas BBQ. Access to miles of hiking trails directly behind the property. Sledding is welcome down the driveway, or there is a community toboggan hill within walking distance. Hot tub is heated year-round and is professionally maintained.

There is one security camera at the front door facing the road. This is used for safety and to check snow conditions.

ACCESS:
Guests have access to the entire house except linen closets, storage areas, and we are currently not allowing garage access. Check back for updates regarding the garage as we have plans to allow parking and also provide a ping pong table and darts.

THINGS TO NOTE:
The house is at 5000ft elevation. This often means A LOT of snow in the winter. PLEASE CHECK WEATHER CONDITIONS PRIOR TO DRIVING UP. Chains are often required in the winter, sometimes even if you have 4wd. This past winter (2022-2023) had an unprecedented amount of snowfall and there was one week where the community was asking all renters to reschedule due to 9 ft of snow and unsafe driving conditions. This is very rare but does happen. We will do our best to accommodate our renters. We do have a security camera / snow cam installed so please message me if you need up-to-date snow conditions.

Power outages can happen in the winter months due to bad weather. For extended outages, there is a gas powered generator which can only be operated with permission from the owner. Please message us if the generator is required.

Please note that there is a fairly steep staircase from the front door to the main living area. The stairs are indoor. There is no way to access the home without climbing stairs.

Please note that the driveway is fairly steep. There is a covered car port for parking and guests may park in the driveway as well. No street parking. The garage is not currently accessible by guests.

During the winter months we do our best to keep the driveway clear but there may be times when it will require shoveling.

There is central heat, but no central air conditioning. The high elevation and shade usually means lower temps in the summer. The living room and bedrooms have celling fans.

Only issue (very minor) was the TV upstairs had no connection or DVD player connected... the grandkids had to "rough it" and watch their movies on the downstairs TV." - "This property was immaculately clean and in wonderful condition. Although no check-in instructions were sent to me, when I emailed the property manager the night before, he got back to me immediately about access to the property. Everything was clean well- appointed, but the problem was that the house was very cold. The welcome book said that the kitchen heater was supposed to heat the entire downstairs. After 12 hours of the kitchen heater being on, the lower floor was not warmer than 54° and it was in the 40s outside. They said that space heaters were supposed to heat the upstairs. Not only were space heaters not provided, but I don’t think it is safe to keep space heaters on all night. When I complained about the downstairs being very cold, the property manager was very responsive and gave me instructions to turn on another wall heater, which, by the way, were not provided in the welcome manual. Unfortunately, the wall heater did not work. There was an additional large space heater for the downstairs, but even with that on the lower floor would not rise above 54°. We were in blankets to stay warm, and I could not takea shower because the house just felt too cold. If they could figure out the heating situation, this would be a wonderful place to stay. After going back-and-forth with the property manager about the inadequate heating, I did not hear anything back. I asked him the following day whether he actually wanted me to review the property and he said “ok”."

Sierra Park is a peaceful gated community. On-site is a small fishing and swimming lake, basketball & volleyball courts, a picnic area, children's playground, and a sledding hill in the winter.

Pinecrest Lake is 15 minutes away for hiking, fishing, paddle boarding, horseback riding, and during the summer months, outdoor movies at the Pinecrest Amphitheater.

Twain Harte is 12 mins away - a sweet town with a variety of restaurants, shaved ice, mini-golf, and a community pool.

Guest access
You will have private access to the entire cabin during your stay. You will also have access to the small, on-site lake for fishing and there is a family friendly 'beach' swimming area on the lake as well as a children's playground and sledding hill in the winter season.
Other things to note
* Please note - there are a number of external stairs that you will need to climb to reach the cabin.

* The mezzanine loft area is not suitable for young children unsupervised. We do provide a stair gate for our toddler guests, which is stored in the area under the staircase inside the cabin.

ITEMS LEFT BEHIND
We charge a $20 handling fee, plus the postage and any other costs to get the item/s returned to you. You are welcome to contact us directly to coordinate personal retrieval if an item is found upon checkout.

BBQ
We do provide a gas barbecue located on the deck. Just to let you know, we do not maintain the propane. We recommend you bring up an extra propane tank for backup just in case it runs out. Or you can exchange the existing one at the Chevron a few blocks from the cabin.

WINTER TRAVEL
In the winter months, we highly recommend that you carry chains and/or have 4 wheel drive. 7 Cedars Retreat is located on semi-steep roads and depending on the storm the roads may not be plowed yet. We provide a shovel at the property. If visiting during active snowfall, you might be required to shovel access for parking.

IF YOUR STAY IS CANCELLED DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER OR IF THE CABIN IS NOT ACCESSIBLE DUE, TO HEAVY SNOW, WE WILL NOTIFY YOU 24 HOURS BEFORE CHECK IN TO RESCHEDULE YOUR STAY OR ISSUE YOU A REFUND.

Winter weather may bring snow. Please note that we do not accept any liability if you’re snowed in/out, experience loss of power, road closures, or other issues out of the host's control. Power outages may happen due to weather, PG&E shut-off, etc. If you book the cabin you are accepting these possibilities and will not receive a refund. We recommend all guests get their own trip insurance if you are concerned about these possibilities. We also recommend all guests carry chains in the winter. Please note that snow is not removed from the property by the hosts. However, shovels are provided for guests.
