The cabin has two bedrooms upstairs. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom has two twin beds. We also have one high-quality twin-sized air mattresses available. Downstairs, there's a full kitchen, bathroom, living room with fireplace, TV/ DVD and a large selection of family movies, board games, and books. The dining area accommodates 6.

Summer activities: Pinecrest Lake is a terrific place to spend the day swimming, boating, fishing, or hiking. You can rent kayaks, paddle boats, fishing boats, and party boats at the marina. There's a snack bar that serves burgers and soft serve ice cream, a general store, and a sporting goods store conveniently located at the lake.

The Steam Donkey restaurant serves up delicious lunch and dinner and has a full bar. The Serene Bean, an outdoor coffee stand, is open year round.

In the evening, there is an outdoor amphitheater under the pines that features first run movies. This overlooks the lake and has a snack bar that serves popcorn, hot chocolate, and more. It's so much fun.

Paddle Board rentals are available at Heidi's Ski Shop.

Winter Activities: Dodge Ridge Ski Resort is 15 miles up the road. There is a lodge to relax in and a lot of trails to explore. Grab some lunch at the Creekside Cafe or a beer at the Boulder Bar.

Leland Sno Park is about 25 miles from the cabin. It's a great place to take your kids sledding in a great open area. Traffic is directed by employees of the Sno Park, and there is a lodge that serves snacks and warm drinks.

There's a seasonal, indoor ice skating rink that you can walk to right across the street from the cabin!

Further up the road are great fishing spots to explore and Donnell Vista, a stunning overlook 30 scenic miles from the cabin.

Only one hour to the quaint town of Murphy's, wine tasting, restaurants, and shopping. Calaveras Big Trees State Park is further up Hwy 4 where you can view an amazing grove of giant sequoias.

The cabin is a 1.5- hour drive to Yosemite's north entrance. Be sure to stop at the historic Iron Door Saloon for dinner on your way home!

You should leave it tidy, rinsed dishes go into dishwasher so there's no ants etc. Cabins blankets and towels stay at the cabin. The crew does the rest.

- "My family and I decided to take a small getaway from the city. As others stated the entrance road was a little bumpy but still very easy to navigate. The cabin does feel pretty secluded and there is a tree intentionally going through the deck which all of us thought was pretty neat. The creek was easy to find and in the evenings we enjoyed seeing a goat farmer pass by with their goats. The kids got a kick out of the "cubby" beds, they loved them! If you have children and a dog then this is your place! They had some fun board games we got to play as well. We intended to travel to Yosemite but Stanislaus had some great kid and dog friendly hiking trails so we stayed in the area. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked (thankfully because we cook all our own meals) and we even found some bug spray which we had forgotten to pack. We had a fantastic time and would definitely visit again."

The cozy, yet spacious retreat is located in Sierra Park within the Stanislaus National Forest in a 400 acre privately gated preserve, yet enjoy the convenience of being near everything. The property provides plenty of open space all around the cabin. The kids can play outside or snow sled right on the property, then come it for refreshments. We are 4750 ft. elevation in Long Barn. Go hiking or ice skating and be home for a few minutes to relax.

The cabin is nestled in the woods near great skiing, snowshoeing and hiking. We provide games, puzzles, and magazines. Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge Ski Area nearby. Cross-country skiing (at Dodge Ridge), snowmobiling, and sledding (at Leland Snow Park) are all close as well. Additionally, we are about 1 mile from the ice skating rink in Long Barn and or Lyons Reservoir. The small towns of Sierra Village, Mi-Wuk Village, Sugarpine and Twain Harte are all close. Twain Harte has great shopping, restaurants and recreation opportunities. Go bowling at Black Oak Casino, then grab a pizza in Twain Harte on your way back to the cabin.

The space sleeps 6 people (no more than 4 adults) comfortably. However, we do make an exception for up to 8 guests - provided that at least 4 are children (extra guest fees apply) and that you book in advance. The bedroom on the main floor has a queen-size bed. In the loft bedroom you will find two queen-size beds and one full size bed. The queen beds have warm, down comforters and all have cozy pillows with plenty of extra blankets and quilts.

The cabin will be cleaned and stocked with fresh linens for each bed (reserved on the reservation) with many of the items you will find to meet your needs during your stay.

Provided in the kitchen are dishes, silverware, classes, mugs, a toaster, coffee maker, blender and a waffle maker. There is coffee, tea, hot chocolate, oils, spices for cooking and baking pans stocked for you. The gas BBQ has propane provided (summer) and all of the wood you can burn is included for the fireplace in winter. There are place settings for 6.

The main floor opens into a living room with vaulted ceilings, dining area, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Our front deck provides a beautiful view of the forest and the sounds of a stream (when snow is melting). The ground floor has one bedroom and a full bathroom with a shower. Upstairs you will find an expansive loft with lots of space to spread out. The main level has a large family room with a large couch, a recliner and several chairs. We have a large library collection of DVD's including action, comedy, drama, and kids movies. Our upstairs loft has a TV/DVD/VHS as well. We provide toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, salt, pepper and spices.

We have snow sleds for your use in the winter. A washer and dryer are located within the kitchen (with detergent) can be used to dry those wet snow clothes. There is a TV with DVD in the Living room and one in the loft. We have about 100 movies. With no WiFi or cable you can truly unplug and relax. The only cell service in the area is Verizon ... AT&T does not work! Zoe's Coffee House (crepes, smoothies, coffee and paninis) and Andy's Grill both have free WiFi for those needing to reconnect.

The community of Cold Springs is a vacation cabin community founded in the 1950's shortly after the founding of nearby UC Berkeley Pinecrest "Lair of the Golden Bear" (1948). Situated on a ridge overlooking the beautiful Stanislaus National Forest, each cabin was set to have a view while being close to the lake and skiing! In the summer months guests can enjoy Pinecrest Lake which is a 5 minute drive from the cabin. Rent kayaks, fishing boats, and pontoons, take out our complimentary paddleboards, swim, read, hit the snack shack or general store on your way to hike the Pinecrest Lake trail (3.5 miles around the lake).
Take a day hike up to Cleo’s bath Trail (see our instagram for pics!). Rent bikes at the Pinecrest Resort. Have a Picnic or BBQ at the lakeshore day use area. At night, stay for a movie under the stars at the incredible, historic Pinecrest Outdoor Ampitheater!

Pinecrest Lake is just a 4 mile drive down highway 108. There are bike rentals in Pinecrest and a Tuolomne County shuttle that operates in the summer (check website). On weekends it is best to be early!! Weekdays are easier. There are beautiful rivers to explore nearby as well, for trail hikes and swimming holes!
In the winter months, Dodge Ridge ski resort is just 10 minutes away! We recommend you carry snow chains or have 4 wheel drive. Our road is plowed daily but it is important to know that you may need to shovel snow if it snows overnight on your vehicle.
The Pinecrest Hideaway is a sanctuary for families, couples, small families, and professionals seeking relaxation in a peaceful environment. We allow 6 guests maximum. - "The home is beautifully decorated as shown in photos and were constantly impressed throughout our stay with the little touches such as snacks and wine, books and games for all ages, plenty of seating in the patio backed with lots of trees. It was such a quaint home for a short retreat away with our little girls. I love how there was a frame tv and the chairs swivel. Their decor was on point. Only downside was the cleanliness related to the dishes. I found a few dishes in the cabinet that were not clean, one was even stacked with a few tablespoons of either sugar or salt. But other than that, this was a wonderful stay and we have told our family and friends and plan to stay again in the future!"

- "Everything was as advertised and was great. We would definitely stay here again. Only issue (very minor) was the TV upstairs had no connection or DVD player connected... the grandkids had to "rough it" and watch their movies on the downstairs TV." - "This property was immaculately clean and in wonderful condition. Although no check-in instructions were sent to me, when I emailed the property manager the night before, he got back to me immediately about access to the property. Everything was clean well- appointed, but the problem was that the house was very cold. The welcome book said that the kitchen heater was supposed to heat the entire downstairs. After 12 hours of the kitchen heater being on, the lower floor was not warmer than 54° and it was in the 40s outside. They said that space heaters were supposed to heat the upstairs. Not only were space heaters not provided, but I don’t think it is safe to keep space heaters on all night. When I complained about the downstairs being very cold, the property manager was very responsive and gave me instructions to turn on another wall heater, which, by the way, were not provided in the welcome manual. Unfortunately, the wall heater did not work. There was an additional large space heater for the downstairs, but even with that on the lower floor would not rise above 54°. We were in blankets to stay warm, and I could not takea shower because the house just felt too cold. If they could figure out the heating situation, this would be a wonderful place to stay. After going back-and-forth with the property manager about the inadequate heating, I did not hear anything back. I asked him the following day whether he actually wanted me to review the property and he said “ok”."

Guest access
You will have private access to the entire cabin during your stay. You will also have access to the small, on-site lake for fishing and there is a family friendly 'beach' swimming area on the lake as well as a children's playground and sledding hill in the winter season.

* Please note - there are a number of external stairs that you will need to climb to reach the cabin.

* The mezzanine loft area is not suitable for young children unsupervised. We do provide a stair gate for our toddler guests, which is stored in the area under the staircase inside the cabin.

Downstairs there is one private bedroom with a queen bed and a bathroom with a shower and a tub. On the main floor there is a bedroom with a full sized bed and a bathroom with a combo shower tub. Upstairs is a large loft with a king sized bed and (2) twin beds.

We charge a $20 handling fee, plus the postage and any other costs to get the item/s returned to you. You are welcome to contact us directly to coordinate personal retrieval if an item is found upon checkout.

BBQ
We do provide a gas barbecue located on the deck. Just to let you know, we do not maintain the propane. We recommend you bring up an extra propane tank for backup just in case it runs out. Or you can exchange the existing one at the Chevron a few blocks from the cabin.

WINTER TRAVEL
In the winter months, we highly recommend that you carry chains and/or have 4 wheel drive. 7 Cedars Retreat is located on semi-steep roads and depending on the storm the roads may not be plowed yet. We provide a shovel at the property. If visiting during active snowfall, you might be required to shovel access for parking.

IF YOUR STAY IS CANCELLED DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER OR IF THE CABIN IS NOT ACCESSIBLE DUE, TO HEAVY SNOW, WE WILL NOTIFY YOU 24 HOURS BEFORE CHECK IN TO RESCHEDULE YOUR STAY OR ISSUE YOU A REFUND.

Winter weather may bring snow. Please note that we do not accept any liability if you’re snowed in/out, experience loss of power, road closures, or other issues out of the host's control. Power outages may happen due to weather, PG&E shut-off, etc. If you book the cabin you are accepting these possibilities and will not receive a refund. We recommend all guests get their own trip insurance if you are concerned about these possibilities. We also recommend all guests carry chains in the winter. Please note that snow is not removed from the property by the hosts. However, shovels are provided for guests.

We call it the Rabbit Hole because its an escape from the world above. With that being said there is no internet and limited cell service (AT&T works). The Rabbit Hole is a place to connect with family and friends without all the distractions of the modern world. This property is different from many of the short term rentals in the area because it has a comfortable floor plan, lots of space to spread out for every one and updated features to make it feel homey. Cold Springs gets SNOW!

The space
There is a landline for emergencies and if you are really jonsing to get on your phone you can take a short drive up to the top of the hill where you turned off of HWY 108 and get reception most of the time. There are two TVs with DVD players. The DVD selection is growing but feel free to bring your own just don’t forget them when you leave. There are board games, two dart boards and a poker table with chips/cards. The large deck has an array of seating options with a BBQ and firepit as well as a table with umbrella for dining outside. The kitchen is fully stocked with the essentials and then some to cook just bring all your food and beverages. There is a ground floor bedroom with a queen bed and shared bathroom. The house is heated several ways for your comfort with thermostat controlled gas stove with blower, wood fireplace and space heaters. A washer and dryer is available for guest use during your stay. Upstairs there is another bathroom, rec area, a queen bedroom as well as a bedroom with a California king and two twin mattresses. Additional there is a full size mattress that can be used in the dartboard room on the floor. The house is decorated modernly with a vintage flare.

Guest access
Obviously if you haven’t reserved rooms they are off limits. We could possibly be having another guest or be staying there ourselves. We ask that you not use these bedrooms for any reason so that an additional cleaning fee isn’t charged. Other areas off limits are the garage, laundry room fridge, under the stair closet, pantry next to kitchen and closet in ground floor bedroom. These areas are for host access only. Because our family frequents the Rabbit Hole Retreat regularly we have items there for our comfort. We also ask that you not reprogram our timers for lights or rearrange furniture and/or decorations.

During your stay
I’m available via phone, text and thru AirBnB. You’ll find I’m pretty available and respond quickly. If I am staying at the cabin you it will take me longer to get back to you due to cell coverage so please try the landline there at 209-965-3171.

Other things to note
Once again there is no WiFi and limited cell coverage at the property. This is a rural mountain cabin and there are wild animals such as bears, coyote, bats, raccoons, opossum, mice, spiders, bees, mosquitos, and flies. We do our very best to make your stay comfortable from these animals but this is their home too. Some of the preventive maintenance we do is de-spidering during cleaning, spraying for spiders quarterly, placing mice bait under house and in crawl spaces and putting trash in bear proof shed. There are many spots along HWY 108 to access WiFi in local establishments as well as getting cell service. We ask that you respect our space and treat it like its your Grandmother’s house. The items that reside there are very sentimental so please no sticky fingers and if you break something let your host know. We ask that you not borrow anything from the property and that it be left at the property with the exception of beach type towels. Please take screen shots of directions as well as how to enter property prior to turning down into the Rabbit Hole so you have all the information necessary to access the property.

SEVERE WEATHER AND POWER OUTAGES – Please check the weather at least 5 days before your departure. We do not offer cancellation refunds due to weather or really for any other reason. The reason for this is we do not accept every reservation request because we limit the use of our cabin. The area is known for power outages and in that case we have candles and flashlights in the kitchen drawer. It’s a great time to bound with family and friends and play board games! The gas heater will still work and you can make a wood fire as well. The stove will also light with a match or lighter so you can cook and there will be hot water until the tank is depleted. If you feel uncomfortable about driving in snow if is best to keep an eye on the weather 2 weeks prior to your arrival so if you need to cancel you do so before our no refund cancellation period. Also if you will be arriving during snowy weather be prepared to bring chains.

UN-WINTERIZING THE CABIN (instructions are posted in cabin) – Only needed in the Winter and early Spring months. When you arrive there may be the possibility that you will need to go thru a step by step process to get the water turned on at the cabin. You will be advised of this as part of your check in instructions. There will be detailed instructions posted inside the cabin, inside the electrical panel box and on the water heater under the house. It isn’t difficult but it the steps aren’t followed exactly and in the correct order there could be complications that will affect your stay like no hot water………….You may be required to winterize the cabin upon departure (instructions are posted in cabin). This only needs to be done if we don’t have a guest coming after you.

GAS FIREPLACE – Summertime gas is turned off inside with yellow valve and unplugged.

COOLING THE CABIN OFF – When you arrive open the windows and sliders upstairs/downstairs and place fans in them to pull cooler air in. In the morning close windows to keep cool air in. Normally in the Summertime it is 80-100 degrees during the day but in 60’s at night. Please make sure to close all windows when leaving.

HEATING THE CABIN UP (instructions in the cabin) – When possible we keep the heater on for guests so when they arrive the cabin is already warm but if when you arrive the cabin is cold turn on the heater first. The thermostat is in the hallway near the kitchen. Usually 68 degrees is comfortable. The heater will come on and off to regulate the heat to the desired temperature. Secondly turn on the portable heaters only in the rooms you will be staying in. Please do not relocate the heaters to other areas because if you only reserved a specific room and not the whole cabin there may be additional guests arriving. Also we have put the heaters in areas where we feel it is safest and will disperse the heat well. Thirdly make a fire in the wood stove in the game room which is where you entered. There is plenty of firewood outside the door as well as kindling and cardboard/paper to start it. Please follow the instructions by the wood stove for safety. This wood stove gets very hot so if you have small children you’ll need to make sure you watch them around it.

GARBAGE/RECYCLING – Goes in the shed next to gazebo during and at the end of your stay. There are multiple black garbage cans with lids. Please place all garbage or all recycling in them.

SNOW REMOVAL – There are two hand shovels for the walkways and deck. We also have salt on the deck to put down. We do not have a service to remove walkway snow so it will be up to you to remove. As needed and when available the driveway leading to cabin parking will be plowed. We keep an eye on the weather during your stay and arrange for plowing if needed. If for some reason it doesn’t appear to be done please let your host know.

The space
The Lodge at the Lake has a wrap around deck and outdoor furniture, barbeque, and fire pit area for entertaining. When entering the home, you will see several large windows and sliding glass doors allowing the beauty of the forest to surround you.

Hardwood floors, tile, and carpet are throughout the home. A fully stocked kitchen, granite countertops, dishwasher, gas stove, microwave, and refrigerator allow guests to prepare meals as if they are in the comfort of their own home. There is also a drip coffee maker to ensure you have plenty of energy for all your adventures.

There is a large flat screen TV with access to Netflix as well as a library of DVDs and board games to provide entertainment for all ages.

There is a loft/bedroom upstairs that contains a cozy and comfortable queen bed as well as a twin bed. Downstairs, the couch pulls out into a queen size bed. The Lodge at the Lake can comfortably sleep 5 adults.

There is one bathroom that contains a bath/shower combo and comes with shamoo, conditioner, and body wash. A hair dryer and diffuser are also available for guests to use.

The cabin has a gas powered stove that provides heat on chilly nights, and is approximately 1030 square feet.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire house, patio, and fire pit area. One closet downstairs is locked for owner's safekeeping. In addition, there is a private lake for swimming, and fishing for kids 15 and under. A basketball court, playground, horseshoe pits, and barbeque area are also located within the community.

Other things to note
Parking: There is an area for parking directly in front of the cabin off the road. This accommodates two cars or one large SUV/Truck and a small car. All cars must be parked on our parking area. If additional parking is needed, you can park in the common area near the playground area at no charge.

There is a gas barbeque on the deck area. We try to keep propane in the barbeque for your convenience, but it is not guaranteed. If you will be using the barbeque, we recommend you bring a propane tank for back up or have the existing tank filled.

Wifi-We do have wifi, however, there is a monthly budget on data usage. We ask that you limit the amount of HD video streaming because once the data is used for the billing cycle, it will kick down to a very slow speed.

Cell phone service-Verizon is our cell carrier, and it works great in the cabin. At&t also works very well. Most other carriers will not have reception in this area, so plan accordingly.

There are board games, two dart boards and a poker table with chips/cards. The large deck has an array of seating options with a BBQ and firepit as well as a table with umbrella for dining outside. The kitchen is fully stocked with the essentials and then some to cook just bring all your food and beverages. There is a ground floor bedroom with a queen bed and shared bathroom. The house is heated several ways for your comfort with thermostat controlled gas stove with blower, wood fireplace and space heaters. A washer and dryer is available for guest use during your stay. Upstairs there is another bathroom, rec area, a queen bedroom as well as a bedroom with a California king and two twin mattresses. Additional there is a full size mattress that can be used in the dartboard room on the floor. The house is decorated modernly with a vintage flare.

Guest access
Obviously if you haven’t reserved rooms they are off limits. We could possibly be having another guest or be staying there ourselves. We ask that you not use these bedrooms for any reason so that an additional cleaning fee isn’t charged. Other areas off limits are the garage, laundry room fridge, under the stair closet, pantry next to kitchen and closet in ground floor bedroom. These areas are for host access only. Because our family frequents the Rabbit Hole Retreat regularly we have items there for our comfort. We also ask that you not reprogram our timers for lights or rearrange furniture and/or decorations.

During your stay
I’m available via phone, text and thru AirBnB. You’ll find I’m pretty available and respond quickly.

Other things to note
Once again there is no WiFi and limited cell coverage at the property. This is a rural mountain cabin and there are wild animals such as bears, coyote, bats, raccoons, opossum, mice, spiders, bees, mosquitos, and flies. We do our very best to make your stay comfortable from these animals but this is their home too. Some of the preventive maintenance we do is de-spidering during cleaning, spraying for spiders quarterly, placing mice bait under house and in crawl spaces and putting trash in bear proof shed. There are many spots along HWY 108 to access WiFi in local establishments as well as getting cell service. We ask that you respect our space and treat it like its your Grandmother’s house. The items that reside there are very sentimental so please no sticky fingers and if you break something let your host know. We ask that you not borrow anything from the property and that it be left at the property with the exception of beach type towels. Please take screen shots of directions as well as how to enter property prior to turning down into the Rabbit Hole so you have all the information necessary to access the property.

SEVERE WEATHER AND POWER OUTAGES – Please check the weather at least 5 days before your departure. We do not offer cancellation refunds due to weather or really for any other reason. The reason for this is we do not accept every reservation request because we limit the use of our cabin. The area is known for power outages and in that case we have candles and flashlights in the kitchen drawer. It’s a great time to bound with family and friends and play board games! The gas heater will still work and you can make a wood fire as well. The stove will also light with a match or lighter so you can cook and there will be hot water until the tank is depleted. If you feel uncomfortable about driving in snow if is best to keep an eye on the weather 2 weeks prior to your arrival so if you need to cancel you do so before our no refund cancellation period. Also if you will be arriving during snowy weather be prepared to bring chains.

UN-WINTERIZING THE CABIN (instructions are posted in cabin) – Only needed in the Winter and early Spring months. When you arrive there may be the possibility that you will need to go thru a step by step process to get the water turned on at the cabin. You will be advised of this as part of your check in instructions. There will be detailed instructions posted inside the cabin, inside the electrical panel box and on the water heater under the house. It isn’t difficult but it the steps aren’t followed exactly and in the correct order there could be complications that will affect your stay like no hot water………….You may be required to winterize the cabin upon departure (instructions are posted in cabin). This only needs to be done if we don’t have a guest coming after you.

GAS FIREPLACE – Summertime gas is turned off inside with yellow valve and unplugged.

COOLING THE CABIN OFF – When you arrive open the windows and sliders upstairs/downstairs and place fans in them to pull cooler air in. In the morning close windows to keep cool air in. Normally in the Summertime it is 80-100 degrees during the day but in 60’s at night. Please make sure to close all windows when leaving.

HEATING THE CABIN UP (instructions in the cabin) – When possible we keep the heater on for guests so when they arrive the cabin is already warm but if when you arrive the cabin is cold turn on the heater first. The thermostat is in the hallway near the kitchen. Usually 68 degrees is comfortable. The heater will come on and off to regulate the heat to the desired temperature. Secondly turn on the portable heaters only in the rooms you will be staying in. Please do not relocate the heaters to other areas because if you only reserved a specific room and not the whole cabin there may be additional guests arriving. Also we have put the heaters in areas where we feel it is safest and will disperse the heat well. Thirdly make a fire in the wood stove in the game room which is where you entered. There is plenty of firewood outside the door as well as kindling and cardboard/paper to start it. Please follow the instructions by the wood stove for safety. This wood stove gets very hot so if you have small children you’ll need to make sure you watch them around it.

GARBAGE/RECYCLING – Goes in the shed next to gazebo during and at the end of your stay. There are multiple black garbage cans with lids. Please place all garbage or all recycling in them.

SNOW REMOVAL – There are two hand shovels for the walkways and deck. We also have salt on the deck to put down. We do not have a service to remove walkway snow so it will be up to you to remove. As needed and when available the driveway leading to cabin parking will be plowed. We keep an eye on the weather during your stay and arrange for plowing if needed. If for some reason it doesn’t appear to be done please let your host know.

We do provide a propane barbecue located on the deck. Keep in mind that we do not maintain the propane. If you are inclined to do so, you can have the tank exchanged at the Cold Springs Market or Twain Harte market. Please send us the receipt and we will gladly reimburse you.

HAMMOCK
The hammock is located behind the front door. Please feel free to utilize it during your stay. We ask that before you depart to kindly shake it out and place it back where you found it.

WINTER TRAVEL
-If your stay is canceled due to severe weather or if the cabin is not accessible due to heavy snow, we will notify you 24 hours before check-in to reschedule or issue you a refund.
-Fortunately, Long Barn can get a lot of snow in the winter. This is amazing for skiing and snowboarding, but it is in your best interest to have a plan in the event of a storm. The county plows all of the roads, including neighborhood roads when it snows, but they only come around a few times a day. We also pay to have our driveway cleared before your arrival. Be mindful of the road conditions and plan your vehicle choice accordingly!
-In the winter months, we highly recommend that you carry chains and/or have 4 wheel drive.
-If you are traveling during active snowfall, you might be required to shovel to access cabin.

There are multiple lakes, rivers and hiking trails in the area. Pinecrest Lake, Dodge Ridge Ski Resort and Twain Harte are all within 15 miles of the cabin. Also, in the town of Tuolumne, you will find Black Oak Casino.

At this property, you will enjoy the privacy that the marvelous Sierra Nevada Mountains have to offer. The location offers plenty of parking. There are portable air conditioning units available in each room (if needed). There are two bedrooms, and each bedroom offers its own bunk bed. The lower bed is a queen size bed, while the upper bed is a full size bed. Each bedroom contains this bed configuration. Freshly washed bath towels, hand towels and washcloths are provided upon each guest's arrival. The bathroom has a newly updated full shower/tub combination with a dispenser of shampoo, conditioner, and body soap for guests to utilize. The basic kitchen necessities will be provided with everything you will need to prepare meals. The kitchen also has a toaster and waffle maker available for guests. There is a large deck with outdoor seating that you will fully enjoy! You can sip your morning coffee, while enjoying the sounds of nature in the cool fresh morning air. There is also a full-size propane BBQ available for grilling on the deck. Please note that check in time is between 3pm - 9pm unless otherwise agreed upon. You will be remotely buzzed into the community gate. Once inside the cabin there are 2 gate passes for the remainder of your stay.

For the safety of our guests and our community, AWD/4WD is required during winter months (Dec-March). Please also carry chains that fit your vehicle.

* NO PETS OR ANIMALS - Our daughter has severe allergies that will send her to the hospital. We have an exemption from accepting both service and ESA animals. You will be cancelled and relocated if you show up with an animal.

* For the safety of our property, four (4) exterior video recording cameras are installed and monitor the exterior of the property (including the driveways, front door, and deck). Any attempt to turn off, disable, move, re-direct, and/or cover the cameras is prohibited. For your privacy, audio is NOT recorded.

* Families with young children - please book at your own risk. Children must be supervised at all times. There are stairs and a hot wood burning stove fireplace. Please contact us 7 days before your stay and let us know if you need a pack n play or high chair.

* Snow plows regularly run along hwy 108 and the streets within our community. However our driveway is not plowed as it is private property. You may have to shovel snow in order to park. Alternatively, we can try to arrange for the driveway to be cleared for an extra fee that is based on quotes and availability, amount of snow, and size of parking spot needed.

* Our cabin is located in the mountains at over 5,000 feet elevation and is subject to weather/natural events that are beyond our control. No refunds will be given due to weather, fire, acts of nature, or "acts of God" that results in traffic, travel delays, road or hwy closures, poor air quality, power outages, internet outages, the requirement of chains, and/or the closure of the surround National Forest. It is very common to experience power outages, including in the summertime. We encourage you to purchase travel insurance.

* While we do have monthly pest control to deter wildlife from entering our cabin, given our location in the forest, we have wildlife and insects on and/or around the property. This includes but is not limited to bears, coyotes, snakes, bats, skunks, squirrels, hawks, spiders, flies, ants, mice, rats, moths, etc. Guest agrees to respect wildlife and not engage with and/or feed wild animals.

* We are on a delicate septic system. Please do not flush anything other than human waste and toilet paper.

* Fires are permitted in the wood burning stove fireplace only and only with firewood and provided fire starters. Absolutely no lighter fluid or duraflames allowed. Fires on the deck and outdoor on our property or in our community are strictly forbidden. No candles. The outdoor BBQ is propane gas fueled only; wood logs are not permitted on the BBQ. We do not provide propane.
If the propane tank is empty, you may exchange it at the Chevron 5 minutes away. Please cover the BBQ with the cover after it has cooled and clean it thoroughly after usage.

* $50 replacement fee for each gate key that isn't returned upon checkout.

Located in serene Cold Springs near Pinecrest Lake, California, our cozy cabin is surrounded by rivers, lakes and snow parks. It's the perfect family getaway all year round.

The space
Our cabin can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people. Enjoy the large decks with outdoor seating and outdoor dining to bring yourself and your family one with nature! There are additionally several sitting areas to relax or socialize in, as well as a large entertainment room for movie night! There is plenty of closet and dresser space to store your clothes and personal items. The living area has a propane fireplace to relax by for toasty nights. You will not find a kitchen more stocked and equipped for all your cooking and baking desires.

The deck is equipped with a barbeque grill. Propane is available at the nearby convenience store, 2 min drive from the cabin.

Other things to note
Cell phone signal is spotty in the mountains. There is a landline available at the cabin for free local and long distance calls. Any charged calls will be charged to your stay.

There is satellite Wi-Fi at the cabin. Satellite internet is the only available option in the location and internet speeds vary significantly. My husband and I work remotely from the cabin when we're there and some applications are affected more than others. We understand how important internet is for work and play and we will do whatever we can to help. However, please consider this if you are considering working remotely.

Our cabin is located in a beautiful wooded area, surrounded by nature and home to a variety of wildlife. While we take great care to keep the cabin clean, secure, and professionally maintained, it is possible that tiny forest visitors—like spiders, flies, or wasps—may occasionally make their way indoors. This is part of the charm (and reality) of staying in a mountain cabin. We do our best to prevent it, but refunds will not be issued due to the presence of these natural guests.

We offer a private, off-the-road parking structure located directly at the property. It can comfortably fit one large SUV/Truck or 2 midsize vehicles

The parking area steps down to the front entrance and is accessible year-round, though snow chains may be required during winter months. We'll include more info in your welcome packet if snow is expected during your stay.

All four ceiling fans in the cabin operate via remote control. We kindly ask that you return each remote to its original location upon arrival to help us easily locate them after your stay. Please note that any lost remote will incur a replacement fee of $50 each.

Three story cabin. Main floor has new living room furnishings, dinning for 8, fully stocked kitchen including new heavy duty pots and pans, and a Vita Mix blender. Murphy’s bed, 40in TV Roku TV, large variety of games, wood fire place, and plenty of access to outside. Ample windows to allow light and views from the beautiful scenery outside.

The deck is completely enclosed, allowing for small children or pets to safely play. There is seating and lounging for 8. A propane fire pit and also propane BBQ with burner. You will find a corn hole game, along with oversized hammock. All private with amazing forest views.

In the Naughty Pine Loft, you’ll find a queen bed with ample storage.

There are blackout curtains throughout to keep house cool while you are away exploring the mountains and lakes, or if you are wanting to sleep-in.

Downstairs is a family suite, a queen bed and 2 twin bunks tucked away in a cute little cubby for the kiddos, but also can comfortably fit an adult. Full bath with shower, great water pressure. Washer and dryer, with outside access.

The property is at the end of Long Barn road and is very quite, private with no visible neighbors. Plenty of walking and exploring trails along the creek and river. Bird watching, cabin even has a bird guide, lots of wild life and plenty of space to spread out.

The perfect space for any outdoor lover, great location to access many activities, and a clean comfortable home to enjoy your R&R.

BBQ
We do provide a gas barbecue located on the deck. Just to let you know, we do not maintain the propane. We recommend you bring up an extra propane tank for backup just in case it runs out. Or you can exchange the existing one at the Chevron a few blocks from the cabin.

WINTER TRAVEL
In the winter months, we highly recommend that you carry chains and/or have 4 wheel drive. The Naughty Pine is located on semi steep roads and depending on the storm the roads may not be plowed yet. We provide a shovel at the property. If visiting during active snowfall, you might be required to shovel access for parking.

IF YOUR STAY IS CANCELLED DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER OR IF THE CABIN IS NOT ACCESSIBLE DUE, TO HEAVY SNOW, WE WILL NOTIFY YOU 24 HOURS BEFORE CHECK IN TO RESCHEDULE YOUR STAY OR ISSUE YOU A REFUND.

Winter weather may bring snow. Please note that we do not accept any liability if you’re snowed in/out, experience loss of power, road closures, or other issues out of the host's control. Power outages may happen due to weather, PG&E shut off, etc. If you book the cabin you are accepting these possibilities and will not receive a refund. We recommend all guests get their own trip insurance if you are concerned about these possibilities. We also recommend all guests carry chains in the winter. Please note that snow is not removed from the property by the hosts. However, shovels are provided for guests.

Potential Bear Sightings:

If you’re lucky you’ll see a bear or two! But don’t be alarmed. They are not looking for human interaction and they do not want to be around people. Take all the pics you want but keep your distance. You don’t want to get too close to a mama bear protecting her cubs!

Also, please note that a 'bear can' is provided at the property, please do use this specific can as there is a lock to prevent the bears from rummaging through the garbage. The secondary can is for recycling only. Bears have an incredible sense of smell and they like to dig through the garbage cans if they can! No refunds will be issued due to the sighting of a bear in the wild. Our cabin is in their home, please be mindful of this.

Beautiful Cabin is special in that everything is provided for you and the only thing that you have to bring is your food, drinks, and toothbrush. It's right n the middle of everything. There are other places like Lyons Lake for fishing and hiking, Black Oak Chicken Ranch Casino for gambling and bowling, Twain Hart for golfing, Calaveras Big Tree State Park for hiking and sight seeing and many other places like Jamestown Rail town 1897 State historic Park, Dodge ridge Ski Resort, and many other Creeks and Trails for fishing and Hiking. Other things to note
WINTER: Storms are very common in the mountains in the winter. This often means power outages, and on occasion, getting snowed in. Please check the forecast frequently so you are prepared with extra ready to eat food, batteries, firewood, etc. We try to keep the cabin as stocked as possible for you, but cannot be prepared for every eventuality.
Extreme weather may result in necessary cancelations of your reservation. We do not take this step lightly! However, if previous guests have been snowed in, or conditions look unsafe for your arrival, we may need to make that difficult decision. We keep a close eye on conditions and will communicate proactively with you.

SUMMER: In addition to the split unit air conditioner in the loft, there are two ceiling fans and three oscillating floor fans provided in the cabin.

There is a medium size cooler bag, picnic blanket and 4 small mister/fans that you are welcome to take with you on any outdoor adventures.

Walk inside and you will find an open floor living area, knotty pine throughout, complete heating & AC mini split system to keep you feeling nice & cozy during your stay. For the cook, have fun cooking in our fully equipped kitchen with Krystal Klear filter water system installed for cold water drinking, built - in sink dish soap dispenser for convenience and for the ones who want to keep the chef company there’s bar seating facing the kitchen. Enjoy eating on our dining table that accommodates up to 6. Wake up to a sip of hot coffee using a one touch button coffee maker. Head on over to the living room, relax on our comfy leather couch sofa sleeper, throw on a movie on our smart flat screen TV, Wi-Fi enabled and unwind, chat and of course, cozy up!!

Our kitchen will come with a complimentary starter kit - dishwasher pod, dish sponge, local revive coffee for your first morning wake, sugar packets, tea bags for our tea drinkers & s’mores skewer sticks.

Go upstairs, walk into the master bedroom nestled in knotty pine and find a queen size bed waiting for you to relax under a remote controlled ceiling fan for summer nights. You’ll get to enjoy waking up to natural light coming from the doors of its own deck and window.

The loft comes with a twin day bed and a twin trundle below. The room is filled with games for all ages, TV, DVD player and DVD movies. Perfect cozy space inside the cabin for the littles to call their own!

Head out to the front of the house and you will find our gas bbq grill, deck that has comfortable outdoor adirondack seating surrounding a push button ignition gas fire pit. Right next to the deck is an outdoor dining set. In between the cabin and deck you’ll find a tire swing for the littles to enjoy endless laughter. So think cozy nights under a blanket of towering pine trees, s’mores and outdoor meals.

The Cozy Chalet is Pet friendly. The cozy will host 1 adult, well behaved dog. Please inquiry about pet fee/rules. Must include pet in reservations.

We welcome pets in our home! To ensure a comfortable stay for all our guests, we require a $250 pet deposit. This deposit is fully refundable and will be returned within 10 days of your departure, provided no damage has occurred and no extra cleaning is required (most guests receive their full deposit back).

The space
This gorgeous cabin is located in the pristine Sierra Foothills. Driving time is 2.5 hours from East Bay, 1.5 hours from Central Valley. Perfectly 9 minutes to Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge Ski Resort. Twain Harte activities are 15 minutes away, Yosemite is 1.5 hrs away.

Come experience the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains. In the winter, watch fresh snow falling with glorious views. There is so much here to explore and appreciate.

GIGANTIC master suite upstairs with balcony mountain view. All bedrooms have black-out/room darkening shades or curtains. Perfect for sleeping in.

The Main Floor has an open floor plan, with 2 bedrooms, Living Room, wood stove, Kitchen, and Full Bathroom with tub/shower combo.

Main Floor opens to Large Wraparound Deck with both gas and charcoal grills, patio dining table with umbrella, gravity chairs, and hammock.

Hate hauling bags up flights of stairs? Just 2-3 steps from driveway to main floor of cabin.

Wifi
Wifi is fast but the connection is intermittent. Email, streaming (e.g. Netflix, Spotify), and wifi texting work fine. Zoom meetings and wifi phone calls won't. But, with AT&T cell service, you can still call in for Zoom meetings.

Puzzles and board games abound (upstairs closet shelf). If you crave media, the upstairs nook has a flat screen TV with a selection of DVDs.

Bad back? The upstairs Master Suite has memory foam, which feels both firm and soft at the same time. Downstairs room has a California King traditional mattress.

The entire house, deck, and property, except for the locked cabinets and basement storage, are open to guests.

Other things to note
This is a cabin in the mountains in a remote part of California. Bears frequent the area, as do foxes and bats. What this means: You might see signs of wildlife. If you leave food out, you almost certainly will. Garbage must be secured in the bear-proof garbage can and closed properly. No food scraps or smelly things can go in the recycle. Just paper and rinsed cans/bottles/plastic. (No greasy Mia's pizza boxes.) No food should be left outside unsecured.

Before you come, please check the weather forecast using “Pinecrest” or “Long Barn” and not “Cold Springs” as the location. Also, download offline maps for the area for GPS directions. Consider booking your dinner reservations for Mia’s and Eproson House in before you hit the road.

SUMMER GUESTS
Summers can get hot. The cabin does NOT have AC. If you arrive on a warm day, immediately open all windows and blinds. But keep those curtains and blinds closed that face the sun. Use fans to blow air out 2nd story windows and suck air in 1st story windows. In the morning, before you head to the lake, close all windows and blinds to keep in the cool air.

Speaking of the lake: Make sure to pack beach towels, umbrella, floaties, folding chairs. The marina at the lake rents kayaks, paddle boats, and fishing boats for affordable rates

For a special treat, completely recline in the gravity chairs or share the 2-person hammock on the patio and watch satellites cut across the Milky Way.

WINTER GUESTS:
Cold Springs in winter has harsh weather. In December 2021 there were two PG&E power outages lasting over 24 hours and it snowed over 12 feet over two weeks. In serious snow, trees can fall and cars can get in accidents, which can lead to freeways being closed and county roads being impassable. After a serious snow storm it is normal for it to take hours or even a day before the county roads get plowed.

What We Provide (and Don't Provide) in Winter
We pay for a snowplow service to plow the driveway so that there is space for two vehicles. (A third vehicle will have a difficult time finding a place to park in winter. We don't recommend it.) We have a nice, covered walkway from the driveway to the front door (read: Not much shoveling to get from the car to the door). We provide firewood, kindling, firestarters, and matches. We have a powerful wall heater, space heaters, and an amazing wood stove.

We provide an emergency generator in the event of a power outage. The generator will power lights, refrigerator, Wi-Fi, heater, but not the stove, washing machine or dryer. We provide rock salt for de-icing stairs. We provide snow shovels.

Tasks Winter Guests Should be Prepared to Do
- Dig out own vehicles in the event of snow during your stay.
- Shovel a short walkway in the event of snow.
- De-ice steps by sprinkling rock salt.
- Be prepared for power outages (usually coinciding with snowstorms). Bring flashlights. In the event of a power outage, guests should either be willing to go without electricity (and internet) or be willing to roll a 90 lb. generator outdoors, hook it to a propane tank, and start the generator with the push-button. (Instructions provided.)
- Know how to light and operate a wood stove, including how to use a damper. The wood stove is the best source of heat for the cabin.
- Carry chains (even for 4WD and AWD vehicles, it's the law when there’s snow) and know when, where, and how to install them.
- Know how to reset a circuit breaker and a GFCI outlet.

We will accept cancelations and issue refunds due to closed roads and power outages that occur BEFORE check-in.

Winter guests, if this list sounds straightforward, then you're no stranger to the mountains. If this list sounds intimidating, please take a moment to pause and reconsider. Are you ready for the adventure of staying in a winter cabin? Most of these things you can learn or figure out, like how to light a wood stove to make a killer fire and impress your friends and family. And resetting a circuit breaker isn't difficult. Other things might be beyond your ability, such as shoveling snow if you have a bad back.

For all guests all year: The air is dry up here. Drink plenty of water before you come and while you’re here. The tap water comes from the Tuolumne River’s headwaters and it’s delicious. You can leave your bottled water at home. Tip: Fill up a big pitcher with water and keep it in the fridge.

FAQs
1. Q: What are these “heights without rails?”
A: The main deck has some gaps between the rails and also between the lower rail and the deck floor. Toddlers and rambunctious kiddos age 0-6 should be supervised while on the deck. Everyone else is going to be fine.

2. Q: Do you have sleds, kayaks, etc?
A: Yes, we have some basic plastic sleds. They are on the deck. Use at your own risk. We do not guarantee their satisfaction. If you break one, please help us replace it.

3. Q: Can I check in early or check out late?
A: During summer and winter peak seasons, it’s not possible due to same-day turnaround cleaning. During off-seasons (spring and fall) we may be able to accommodate it, but we cannot promise in advance, because it depends on things we won’t know until the time of your stay. But if you remind us the day before, we might be able to accommodate reasonable requests. Weekday and off-season stays are the easiest to accommodate in this way. Of course, if you really need to arrive early, ask to book an extra night. We can usually offer a discount.

4. Q: I need to cancel. Would you please cancel my reservation?

A: I could, but it would lower my host ranking. You must cancel your reservation on your own. Otherwise, it makes it look like I’m a bad host who cancels people’s stays.

5. Q: Can I roast marshmallows? Can I make a campfire?

A: Unfortunately, no campfires, period. When it’s warm enough to have a campfire it’s also usually dry enough to start a forest fire. Let’s not. But here’s a good alternative: You’re welcome to use the Weber charcoal grill in creative ways. We just ask that you clean up sticky marshmallows and dump the ashes in the ash can. (Our housekeeper doesn’t clean the BBQ grills.)

6. Q: Can I book a reservation way far out during your blackout dates?

A: Maybe! Send me the dates and I’ll check. We block off far-future dates because we want first dibs for our family. If you have special dates you want, I may be able to open them up for you to reserve.

7: Q: What is expected of guests to earn 5 Star ratings?

A: I LOVE giving out 5-Stars. What's required? Mostly, you need to get on the good side of our housekeeper: Check out on time by 11 am. Be tidy. The toughest jobs for her are carpet stains and messy kitchens. Eat meals at the table or counter. Don’t leave behind dirty dishes, pots, pans, or cutting boards. Run a load through the fancy dishwasher when you check out. (You can leave the clean dishes in the dishwasher, that's fine.) Put furniture back where it belongs. When you cook, keep an eye on pots before they boil over, and please don’t splatter bacon fat all over the stove. (I cook in the oven for the best bacon.) Pull sheets off the beds that were slept in. (You can leave them in the hall by the washer.) Bonus points if you run the first load of laundry in the washer, but don’t feel obligated.

Those with Verizon and other carriers may have more limited service due to the remote location.
