Our property offers a family-sized propane BBQ, however we do not guarantee the availability of propane. Guests can refill the provided propane tanks at the local Strawberry General Store which is a 5 minute drive.

The entire cabin is yours to enjoy! Each guest is provided their own unique access code for our keypad entry system which makes checking in super simple!

Parking is at street level which means no steep driveways to maneuver !

Our Winter Way cabin in Strawberry is set in a peaceful forest surrounded by trees, the S. Fork Stanislaus river and Strawberry meadow, with a cabin neighbor on only one side (neighboring vacant land provides seclusion but is privately owned and trespassing is prohibited). While the cabin has most of the comforts of home, it is "unplugged" with no WiFi or landline telephone and limited cell service (depends on carrier) and television reception. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the amazing nature and scenery, sit and relax on the large deck overlooking the river, throw a line in the river for a morning of fishing, or just sit and soak in the Hot Tub (operating condition not guaranteed).

We have always and will continue to use clorox, lysol cleaners, disinfectant sprays, and laundry sanitizer, vinegar, bleach as appropriate for each surface type. Our crews wear protective masks and gloves. You should leave it tidy, rinsed dishes go into dishwasher so there's no ants etc. Cabins blankets and towels stay at the cabin. The crew does the rest.

At 5,325 elevation Strawberry is located just minutes from the ever-so-popular Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge Ski Resort. Strawberry is both a summer and winter vacation community situated at the transition zone between the oak forest of the California foothills and the mixed pine and fir forest of the Sierra Nevada. Summers are cool with the higher elevation during the day and the nights are generally mild; making Strawberry a pleasant escape from the long, hot summers of the California Central Valley. Winters can be very cold with snow occurring several times during the season. Winter sports venues are located nearby at Leland High Sierra Snowplay near Strawberry (snow tubing), Long Barn Lodge & Ice Skating Rink, and Dodge Ridge Ski Area near Pinecrest are all along Highway 108, plus the Badger Pass Ski Area in nearby Yosemite Park.

NOISE ORDINANCE
Sound travels very easily in this area. Please respect the fellow cabins. Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8am in this area. No outdoor music is permitted.

ITEMS LEFT BEHIND
We charge a $20 handling fee, plus the postage and any other costs involved in getting the item/s returned to you. You are welcome to contact us directly to coordinate personal retrieval if item is found upon checkout.

BBQ
We do provide a charcoal barbecue located on the deck. Keep in mind that we do not maintain the charcoal. We recommend you bring up an extra bag for backup just in case it runs out.

WINTER TRAVEL
In the winter months, we highly recommend that you carry chains and/or have 4 wheel drive. The Black Cedar Retreat is located on simi steep roads and depending on the storm the roads may not be plowed yet. We provide a shovel at the property. If visiting during active snowfall, you might be required to shovel access for parking.

IF YOUR STAY IS CANCELLED DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER OR IF THE CABIN IS NOT ACCESSIBLE DUE, TO HEAVY SNOW, WE WILL NOTIFY YOU 24 HOURS BEFORE CHECK-IN TO RESCHEDULE YOUR STAY OR ISSUE YOU A REFUND.

Winter weather may bring snow. Please note that we do not accept any liability if you’re snowed in/out, experience loss of power, road closures, or other issues out of the host's control. Power outages may happen due to weather, PG&E shut off, etc. If you book the cabin you are accepting these possibilities and will not receive a refund. We recommend all guests get their own trip insurance if you are concerned about these possibilities. We also recommend all guests carry chains in the winter. Please note that snow is not removed from the property by the hosts. However, shovels are provided for guests.

- "My family (wife and two kids) has been going to Pinecrest every summer since the kids were very young. They’re 23 and 26 now. We normally stay in our 5th wheel. This year, we decided to change things a bit, and we went the VRBO route. We chose this particular cabin (Granite) for price, location, and they allow dogs. My grand dog, Archie, appreciated being able to travel with us. The cabin is stocked really well, and it is apparent that the owner(s) keep up on routine maintenance (appreciated). It is very clean, quiet, and located within 5-6 minutes of Pinecrest Lake. We stayed 4 nights here, comfortably, and our days were packed. From relaxing and having fun playing board games, to fishing at the lake and Lyons Lake, our trip was pretty awesome. Mia’s Pizza (5 minutes drive west) was great also- didn’t have to cook our last night there. It was a little different this year, not staying in our 5th wheel, but it was a good different. We didn’t have to plan/ pack what we normally do. I’d definitely stay here again, and my family agrees. We hated to leave, but ‘normal’ life must go on. Check it out, plan and book the Granite cabin, you won’t be disappointed."

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths,

Quiet and relaxing location, overlooking the south fork of the Stanislaus River. Three miles from Pinecrest Lake, six miles from Dodge Ridge Ski Resort and a short one mile walk to the Strawberry Store. The cabin features an oversized deck with picnic table, lounge chairs and outdoor grill. The upstairs has three bedrooms, a full bathroom and a large loft area with oversized windows overlooking the river. (There are no bedrooms on the first level). The first floor (main level) has a well-equipped kitchen, dining table that seats ten with extra leaf, a full bathroom and comfortable living area. There is plenty of parking for multiple vehicles on the driveway or in the garage. A washer and dryer are available as well.
Walk outside the door and fish the river for native brook trout and planted rainbow trout or just sit and let the river roll by. Pinecrest Lake offers a marina with fishing boat, pontoon boat and kayak rentals by the hour as well as a snack stand open daily and an outdoor theatre featuring new release movies nightly that you can view under the stars. The Strawberry Store, in case you forget any essentials, and the Strawberry Inn, featuring a full restaurant and bar, is a 20-minute walk from the cabin.
For the perfect mountain getaway this is the place to relax with a hammock in the pines and a huge back deck overlooking the river.

Year-round access with every mountain activity you could wish for within reach, from Pinecrest to the Sonora Pass. Relax at the lake, hit the trails, hook wild trout in nearby streams - or simply enjoy the mountain air.

The Space:
Our cabin at Leland Meadows is ideal for 2 guests, plus 1-2 pups. It definitely hits tiny-home status in all the right ways. You'll have everything you need for comfort and relaxation. Setting our cabin apart from just about every other along Hwy 108: guests have access to an extra-large garage, so 4-season access and use is even easier. Bring all the gear you need, and park out of the weather.

The Leland Meadows community is quiet, private off the beaten path. The private lake, sandy beach and sport courts are rarely crowded - so bring your paddle board and pickleball set for fun in the sun.

Outside there's a spacious porch with bench (and boot storage underneath) and Adirondack chairs to relax on. Inside on the main floor we have an efficient kitchen ready to cook: fridge/freezer, salt & spices + olive oil & vinegar are stocked, gas oven & stove, convection microwave, cookware and place settings + glassware for 4.

We provide a complete coffee setup too: electric kettle, Keurig, drip coffee maker and French press, plus an assortment of pods, whole beans and some tea packets are here to enjoy.

There's a small table for dining at plus a spacious futon with throw blankets for warmth & a 43" FireTV. We use Starlink with "pretty good" connectivity... just fine for streaming entertainment with an occasional pause (just being real).

**Note: we don't have a dishwasher, so handwashing is necessary**

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the cabin and our oversized garage. The driveway is mostly level and the walkway around the garage to the front of the cabin is level too. We have plowed county roads into the community and contract for plow service all winter as well. Depending on the severity of winter storms there may be fresh snow on the ground - be prepared!

We will send you a set of house rules, which will include garage rules too... bottom line is to treat it well, no wrenching/servicing/fueling vehicles in the garage. "Leave no trace".

The Neighborhood:
High alpine meadows, mountain and lake, in a private community at 6300' elevation. This is the highest elevation 4-season community in Tuolumne County (along Hwy 108). Adventure, natural beauty, wilderness exploration and lake-side relaxation are the daily menu.

Getting Around:
The day before check-in we'll email you with a full set of instructions: address, directions, Wifi info, door codes, etc.

Set your map to Leland Meadows before you hit the road, because cell service is weak or non-existent along Hwy 108. When you arrive at the cabin at Camp Leland you can park off the road and then pull into our private garage.

The roads and paths around the community are mostly level and very walkable! In winter the snow can get deep, so bring boots or even snow-shoes. Cold Springs, Pinecrest Lake, Strawberry, Beardsley Lake, the Clark Fork of the Stanislaus River, Dodge Ridge and Kennedy Meadows are all a short drive away. In winter you're just a few miles from the Hwy 108 SnoPark, which is your gateway to snowmobiling, snowshoeing and Nordic skiing deep into the Nation Forest.

November thru April, 4wd with snow tires is a necessity - and carry chains too! The weather can change quickly and the road conditions are unpredictable.

Other Things to Note:
The Leland Meadows neighborhood is a private and special community with a mix of cabins, townhomes and Home Owners Association facilities. The community *does not* have trash or refuse service. Guests and owners in the community operate on a Leave No Trace principle, and we ask the same of our guests. Trash and recycling need to be taken home with you - it's not our favorite thing, but it is the thing that works best every time.

This is as close as you get to a wilderness lodge without riding in on horses or flying in via bush-plane! Stanislaus National Forest surrounds the Leland Meadows community and that is what we love about it! The air is a little thinner than normal so lazy days are just as rewarding as chasing mountain adventure.

FAQs:
Can we fish in the Leland Meadows lake? The small community lake is perfect for paddleboarding, relaxing beachside, or a refreshing swim. Fishing is discouraged though. There are truly world class fishing options nearby though, lakes, creeks, streams, rivers and reservoirs abound.

Welcome to The Rivers Resort located in Sonora Pass Vacation Land, dedicated to guests seeking outdoor adventure and activities. Enjoy all the features we built into “Millport” to provide you with a comfortable stay including a deep bathtub for the perfect bubble bath/Epsom salt bath after a hard day on the slopes. A note about cleaning fees. We understand the hesitation around cleaning fees and want to make sure we are fully transparent on the cost associated with the cleaning fees. There’s a $50 linen charge because our cleaners must drive 30 minutes each way (1 hour round trip) and use their own laundry machines at home. The remaining $150 covers a minimum of three hours of cleaning at $50 per hour, which does not include the travel time to and from the cabin. Additionally, our cleaners provide their own cleaning supplies.

Our cleaners do an outstanding job preparing the cabin for our guests, and we believe their compensation is well-deserved. As the cabin owners and managers, we ensure that the entire cleaning fee goes directly to our cleaners. We value their hard work and aim to keep them satisfied, as they are crucial to maintaining our high standards for guest turnover and cabin readiness.
