- "Ian’s house was exactly as described in the VRBO listing. In fact, the outside deck is bigger than I expected. Nice, quiet location. Ian was a great host and recommended some hikes in the area. Parker Lake was beautiful, but we didn’t get to Fern Lake. We’ll have to do that hike next time. Thanks Ian!" - "A lovely and cozy cabin in the June Lake area. It is a windy road up to the location but Ian is so gracious and meets folks at the bottom to show them the way. The cabin was immaculately clean and was well appointed. The region is filled with gorgeous lakes and water activities for the summer along with some beautiful hiking trails."

- "This property is phenomenal! There is a stream running around the property. The kids caught a couple trout and threw them back. Property owner was very responsive." - "We stayed here in March 2022 for a snow experience and were looking forward to our stay in June 2023 for a summer experience. It didn’t disappoint! We love the spaciousness of the chalet, the hydrotherapy pool, and proximity to everything in the June Lake loop. Due to the extreme snow and resulting melt, the basement was slightly flooded, as water seeped up through the slab. We were just careful when we had to use the washer/dryer and otherwise avoided the basement. It did not affect our stay at all, but wanted to give a heads up since this is probably something they’ll be dealing with for a while. The kids enjoyed the small rock climbing wall down there last time, and we avoided it this time. We can’t wait for 2024, as well will definitely be back!"

Guest Reviews:

- "Victory Lodge is a trophy property in June Lake that everyone should experience. The property is absolutely incredible. We had 10 adults and 10 kids for a ski getaway. People were pinching themselves as they walked through the property - like is this real. Every couple had a bedroom with en-suite bathroom. All the kids had beds. And we would do progressive dinners each night through the multiple rooms and bars in the house. On top of it, the property is about 1 mile away from June Mountain where kids 12 and under ski/ride for free. Absolutely incredible experience. It will be our pleasure to return again someday in the future."

- "My family had a great time! It was perfect." - "The cabin is soooo cute!!! I mean, it was hard to tell since it was under 18 feet of snow, but we can’t wait to go back! Lol! The stairs/ladder to the loft is a little sketchy, both my hubby and 4 year old had bad spills, but neither were being extremely careful at the time of the spill. There were 4 of us and plenty of space. I will probably always stay in this adorable A frame cabin at June! Also, it’s a 4 min drive to June Mountain ski resort!"

Thank you!" - "This property is in a beautiful location within a short driving distance from multiple restaurants and recreation opportunities. The back patio looks out on a pristine alpine forest, which was great for just sitting and relaxing, and we were visited by multiple deer, quail and other critters during our stay. A hiking trail is right behind the cabin, which we only partially explored. We hiked around Gull Lake, rented a boat on June Lake and spent a little time in town—all within a few minutes’ drive. The cabin was clean and had all the amenities we needed to enjoy our stay, including a well-stocked kitchen. We would definitely return."

Other things to note
Before you book, read on to make sure we’re the right fit for your outdoor adventure!

We're new owners in the process of making some updates to the hotel and this cabin, so despite what our current name suggests, we’re not situated right on Gull Lake. However, we are just a short walk down the street to its shores, the marina, the quaint lakeside park, and a great hiking trail around the lake.

Pets: We love hosting dogs! If you plan to bring your furry friend(s), please add them directly to your reservation at booking, at which point the pet fee ($20/dog/night) will be calculated directly into your trip total on the booking screen. Then, please shoot us a message with their name(s) and how many you plan to bring along (two max), and we’ll send you our pet policy and information. See “Additional Rules” for more.

While we do offer WiFi (and have a backup network in case of outages), we’re still in a small mountain town, which means the occasional storm may prevent connection. We don’t recommend planning to Zoom into any important meetings on-site, but let us know if you need any recommendations on local coworking/WiFi spots!

For the safety of our guests, For the safety of our guests, we maintain outdoor security cameras to monitor the parking lot, picnic area, dumpster, and entry to the guest provisions room. This way, we can keep an eye on wildlife visits, fire risk, hazardous elements, and other safety protocols.

Tioga Pass closes seasonally (typically sometime in November through late May or June, and periodically earlier or later depending on storm systems), during which time the only access to June Lake from the western Sierras is through the I-80 pass around Lake Tahoe or south of the Sierras near Los Angeles. You’ll want to build in extra driving time for fall, winter, and spring visits.

Occasionally, Highways 395 (North-South route from LA to Reno) and 158 (June Lake Loop) will close due to heavy snowfall. During winter, please be advised to carry snow chains in your vehicle to comply with CalTrans chain requirements and potential inclement weather.

Fire season typically falls between summer and early fall in the area, so air quality may be unhealthy during this time, particularly among sensitive groups. Ask us about our fire and cancelation policy ahead of time if you’re concerned.

We hope you enjoy this neck of the woods as much as we do. Welcome to June Lake!
