About the Property
Best Palisades Tahoe Location!
Palisades Tahoe USA, site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, is a fabulous ski resort offering a broad range of terrain. We have skied all over the Lake Tahoe area, and this is by far our favorite mountain. The Village has cobblestone pedestrian walks, numerous restaurants and shops, and is the perfect social hub during the winter months.
Parking reservations are now required at Palisades Tahoe. They offer paid and unpaid reservations, which must be made on Tuesday for the upcoming weekend. Happily for those staying in the valley, there is a free, on-demand, door-to-door shuttle called The Mountaineer that will take you directly from our cabin to the slopes. Download the Mountaineer App on your Smart phone for hours, destinations and to request a ride/pick up.
An additional benefit to staying with us in the valley is skipping the 30min-1hr traffic jams that routinely clog I-80 for those driving from Tahoe City or Truckee.
Serene Winter Cabin Escape
Designed by well known Squaw Valley Architect, Dave Tucker, this single level house is warm and inviting, offering peace and serenity just one mile from the lifts of Palisades Tahoe (Formerly Squaw Valley) USA. The 14 foot high floor to ceiling windows fill the home with light and a grand feeling of connection to the outdoors. Privately nestled in the trees next to Squaw Creek, enjoy watching the snow fall outside, or curl up on the day beds while a fire crackles in the volcanic-rock fireplace. Slip into the eight person deluxe outdoor hot tub to unwind and relax while you listen to the babbling brook. Snow shoe or cross country ski in the meadow across the street or on the many trails nearby.
Mountain Fun All Summer Long
In spring, summer or fall walk out onto the large deck for afternoon BBQ's or a nap in the hammock. Climb on the granite boulders in the creek (or the one that comes through the deck). Enjoy the flat yard and deck area next to the creek ideal for kids to play. The house is located on a flat street and private cul-de- sac offering easy access during winter (no steep icy roads to navigate and no need to shovel or climb snowy icy stairs to get into the house!) and an ideal playground for kids in both summer and winter. There is an adjacent bike path which you can walk or bike to the nearby soccer field, hiking trails, or playground and take in all of natures beauty any time of year. You can also bike from here all the way to Tahoe City along the Truckee river- one of our favorites!
Comfortable Accommodations for the Whole Family
This home offers a great floorplan! There are two bedrooms with king beds and a bunkroom that will accommodate up to six people. In addition, there are two day beds in the living room and a pullout couch in one of the bedrooms. This house is ideal for one or two families with children and is sure to leave you with amazing memories of a fabulous vacation in the mountains!
Contact Linda by phone, text or email for a prompt response-text is best!
- "Great house, comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. Perfect for two adult couples with kids. The girls loved the bunk beds. We enjoyed the forest views, creek behind the house, feeding the Stellar blue jays and great deck to enjoy the mornings and evenings listening to nature. We enjoyed the convenience of proximity to both Truckee and Tahoe. We would return! Thank you for sharing. " - "We had a wonderful stay in Olympic Valley with our 2-year old and my parents. The house was well-equipped and perfectly set up for our family. Our son loved the foosball table, the deck, the creek, and the toys (snowball fight with cotton snowballs was so much fun). The hot tub and access to Olympic Valley trails was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the great stay! "

There's nothing more refreshing and quintessential Tahoe than a cozy getaway in an A-frame cabin. Whether you're traveling in summer or winter, this four bedrooms and two and a half bathroom that sleeps eight is a rare find and meets the mark on all things alpine.
Situated on a quiet cul-de-sac, backed up to Bear Creek, this secluded three-level A-frame offers an open floor plan for the living, dining, and kitchen area. Start your morning on the sprawling deck, gazing out at forest service land will provide you with a tranquil place to start your day. If you are looking to get out and explore, you are a short walk from the Five Lakes trailhead and just one mile from Alpine Meadows Ski Resort. In the evenings fire up the woodstove, and enjoy gathering in the first-floor great room. The tranquility, charm, and unique style certainly make for a great Tahoe getaway location.
The expansive floor to ceiling windows, its long farm-style dining table, wood stove, spiral iron staircase, and vintage craftsmanship evoke the feel of a Tyrolean lodge. What it lacks in a dishwasher, it certainly makes up for in tranquility and charm. Before you book Alpine Meadows Cabin in the Woods, be sure to pack your slippers. We're plenty stocked with firewood and coffee cups.
The mountaineer shuttle will pick you up at this location and drop you off at Alpine Meadows during ski season.

So much snow!" - "Our family had a lovely time at the ski chalet for a week in February. The views out of the living room are so great, especially with a roaring fire and snow falling outside. The kitchen is well stocked, we cooked every night but one where we went out for dinner. Children loved the ring toss game and all the fun board games and bunkbeds that every ski house should have. Getting to/from the resort is easy via the Mountaineer service which is free and door-to-door. For bookings with multiple families, there are plenty of beds but the size/layout of the house make it best enjoyed with families that are comfortable with each other."

Getting around is pretty simple in Alpine Meadows! We suggest that you do have a car (AWD or 4WD in the winter) to get the most out of the area. There is the TART, public transportation, which is a great option if you do not want to drive, and you can take this almost all over the valley and around Lake Tahoe. During the winter, we do have a local shuttle that can pick you up at the door and take you to the ski resort.
NO STREET PARKING IN THE WINTER MONTHS. YOU WILL GET TOWED AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE.
Outdoor furniture may not be available in the winter months (October - May).

- "It was great to spend time in this house! There we 12 of us and there were enough bedrooms for everyone. Alpine is 5 min drive, Palisades is 10 min drive. Views are also great from the deck." - "Very much enjoyed staying here." - "Super easy access to Alpine and Palisades with the Mountaineer App. Hosts were great communicators, check in/check out was a breeze. Rooms for days and comfortably sleeps everyone in your party. Indoor hot tub was a huge plus. I recommend carpooling as parking in this neighborhood is very tight, especially in big snow conditions."

- "Great, comfortable spot for families. Easy to coordinate a late checkout. Everything in the house is well organized. Would definitely stay again. " - "Perfect place for a ski trip with the family! " - "Overall perfect location. The Mountaineer app TART shuttle will pick up / drop off right at front door. We felt if there’s a fireplace, the owner/PM should provide at least a little wood for enjoyment. Also, the gas burners on the stove were out but no big deal we just lit them with lighter. Communication was pretty good and timely, only a few discrepancies here and there. We would stay here again. Note to owners: you have a perfect deck for a hot tub hint hint thank you! 4.5 Stars! "

The property sits on an elevated edge of the Olympic Valley, with a framed view of ski slopes in the front of the house, and access to wilderness in the back.
This space is perfect for families that want two separated living rooms to create more space, and has a shared room great for kids. The multi-level deck offers ample space to host friends for an evening sunset.
- "The home was clean and accurately described in the listing. The host was very responsive before and during the stay to help with anything. The check-in process was super smooth with no problems. The home also has a beautiful view from its deck that we enjoyed each morning. All the bedrooms were well stocked with more than enough bedding and the kitchen had everything we needed too. The only things to be aware of when booking this place is that it does require going up 2-3 flights of steep stairs to access the home which wasn’t a big deal for us but could be for certain groups. The walkways and living area are a bit tight as well and the spiral stairs to access the loft are pretty narrow. Nothing extreme but wouldn’t recommend for more elderly individuals. Overall we loved the home and enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others. The location worked great for us too where it felt quiet and relaxed while still having easy access to the lake. "
