You are invited to come stay at Casa Ana one of our charming villas located on our ranch, “ Hacienda San Juan de La Vega” in San Pablo del Lago in the province of Imbabura, Ecuador. This majestic hacienda (40+ hectares = 100 acres) is located at the end of a long Andean valley with a stream flowing through its green pastures. Along the stream you will find pools that are perfect for taking a little dip if you dare…the water is a bit chilly; however, extremely invigorating! Our nieces and nephews love this outdoor pastime. We also have horses on our property for those of you who enjoy horseback riding! If you really want to go back intime we invite you to take a horse drawn hayride... it is just a lot of fun!

A perfect retreat from wherever you find yourself at this moment… into a serene nature filled environment. A complete RETURN to NATURE, If you choose you can leave your cell phones, internet, emails & stress behind… its up to you! We do have wireless internet if you choose to use it.

On our property we have an organic vegetable garden. You are welcome to harvest from our garden for your meals. If you are a garden lover you are also welcome to work in our garden, which is my personal favorite pastime. Learn about permaculture farming methods that take being organic to a completely new level! We are in the process of implementing this philosophy of farming on our ranch. You are also welcome to gather eggs from our free-range chicken coop & enjoy fresh scrambled eggs for breakfast!

Some of our guest have enjoyed going to the local animal market / fair, where they purchase their own egg laying hens, baby chicks, bunny rabbits, guinea pigs & more... We have plenty of space on our ranch to make this possible, so just have fun bring your own farm animals back to our ranch. Your children will have a blast! P.S. The animals at the Animal Fair are very inexpensive... It´s just fun for your children! As an adult I love the experience myself.

The house was outstanding for our multi-generational family of 10. The architecture and all the interesting artifacts from the owner's travels were amazing. Whenever we weren't out exploring, the children lived in the pool and hot tub--and the adults were always enjoying the ever-changing water views. At first we were apprehensive about access only by water taxi, but it turned out not to be a problem, as Byron, Mariana and Esperanza went out of their way to arrange transportation for all of our excursions. The home is easily accessible to town at all hours of the day or night. Byron, Mariana and Esperanza were remarkable--so helpful and kind in every way, even finding babysitters one day. They took care of grocery shopping and cooking virtually all the meals for our group, gracefully accommodating our schedules, and overlooking the messes that a group our size tends to accumulate. We wanted to take them home with us! We are so glad we decided on this home and would heartily recommend it as a highly preferable alternative to a Galapagos cruise."
