While all of our apartments are 3 bedrooms our rates are based on how many people are staying making it more affordable for couples and smaller groups. All include a covered car parking space and access to a private boat jetty. Guests can stroll along the boardwalk and the peaceful gardens. Paynesville is known as the heart of the Gippsland Lakes. Paynesville is situated on the Gippsland lakes which are the largest inland water system in Australia. Raymond Island is just a ferry ride away, a nature lovers dream and home to a large Koala colony. Paynesville has a relaxed village atmosphere with Cafes and Restaurants to chose from and great walks all with spectacular scenery.

Guests have their own entrance leading upstairs to a spacious well appointed sitting room with a self contained kitchenette. French doors lead out to a private balcony overlooking Newlands Arm. Our Sunsets over the water are spectacular!

The Bedroom has a comfortable queen-size bed with quality linen, selection of pillows, and luxurious robes supplied for your use. The Bathroom has a roomy shower, heated towel rail, hair dryer and other bathroom essentials provided.

The Bedroom and Sitting Room have Reverse Cycle Air conditioners and Ceiling Fans although opening the louver windows and doors are perfect to let the sea breeze flow through in Summer.

Free Wi-Fi is available. The sitting room has a comfortable sofa (that converts to a queen size bed if needed,) dining table and chairs. When you are not out on the balcony enjoying the beautiful view, or using the Baby Q Weber BBQ you can sit back and relax and watch the Smart TV.

Once through the gates you drive 100 meters to the house past a Camellia hedge on one side. When it is in flower it is simply stunning. The birds are always busy here, we have the advantage of appreciating coastal and bush varieties. Sit quietly on the outdoor setting on the lawn and watch the passing parade.

If you go walking on the track below the house that takes you to Sunset Cove and into Paynesville (20 min easy walk) you will see some of our local wildlife and boating activities. There is a sheltered beach to walk along and take a dip in safe waters directly in front of the house.

My place is close to The Gippsland Lakes, only a five minute walk to the Lake, suitable for swimming, or walking along the shore on a well maintained track. Close by, you will find parks, great views, restaurants and the beach. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed, the outdoors space and, the neighborhood.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
As it is set back from the street, the only noise to wake you in the morning will be the birds chirping.

The space
Very homely, no fuss accommodation, close to some of the most tranquil and beautiful parts of the Gippsland Lakes.
Your bedroom is equipped with a small refrigerator, an electric blanket and writing desk. There's a wardrobe with ample hanging space, and temporary storage.
You are welcome to make use of the kitchen, preferably the dinner meal to be prepared before 9pm.
Please note it's a two bedroom unit, you will only be sharing the amenities with myself.

There is a cottage garden where guests can relax and enjoy peace and quiet,
watching the many birds that visit on a regular basis.

During your stay
I will be available for any tips regarding the nearby sightseeing or further travel tips.
If you are traveling from or to the Saphire Coast or Sydney, I recommend that you do not follow the GPS which tells you to bypass Lakes Entrance. This has some spectacular views from the lookout of the lakes and ocean beyond, as well as the foot bridge that takes you to the ninety-mile beach.
I do need at east 24 hrs notice for the reservation, I dislike having to decline guests, but I do have to stick by the 24 hr notice.

Other things to note
Just a tip for best scenic route if travelling to or from NSW, don't follow the GPS, and stay on the Prince's Hwy, or M1 to experience the beautiful scenic view of the entrance of the lakes system into the ocean. This being Lakes Entrance, which is 50 KMs from my home.

The space
The Treetops offers private luxury accommodation in a waterfront setting overlooking Newlands Arm on the beautiful, picturesque Gippsland Lakes, located 3.5 hours east of Melbourne. You'll find us in a unique peaceful setting literally among the treetops where the only sounds are often the birdlife and the odd boat passing by.

PETS: We generally welcome most pets but would prefer if you advise us prior to booking as not all animals are suitable and the space doesn't offer an enclosed yard.

Guests have their own private access to the entire lower level which includes 2 lake view bedrooms each with queen size beds, all linen and towels supplied, walk in robes, ceiling fans, Nobo radiant heaters and a spacious living area with lake views. Here you have the option of a sofa which converts to a double bed enabling 6 guests, a dining setting which seats 6, a large modern bathroom with bath and shower, a separate toilet and sliding doors opening out onto a private elevated decked area overlooking Newlands Arm. This balcony boasts stunning views of the Lakes, a perfect area to relax, perhaps catching a sunset as you wind down with a drink upon arrival. We also provide a BBQ here for guests use.

The living area includes a large LED TV. A HDMI cord is available for use with your laptop.
Broadband WI-FI Internet included.

You'll find a functional kitchenette in the dining area, which includes a microwave, bar fridge, pod coffee machine, toaster, kettle, wok, frypan, crockery, cutlery and glasses. We supply cereals, milk, coffee and a variety of teas.

We provide parking for 1 vehicle in our carport and there is also off road parking available. The driveway may appear a little steep but if you cruise down slowly you shouldn't have any trouble!

We offer use of a private jetty if you wish to throw a line in, go for a dip or just wander down to take in the view. Boat mooring is also available on jetty for runabout / ski boat (Please contact us for details).

There is a delightful, lakeside walking track at the bottom of the property. From here it's a 20 minute leisurely walk to the Paynesville Esplanade where you can enjoy an array of cafes and restaurants including the infamous 'Sardine', (a unique restaurant that places high value on fresh local produce),
Chinese, pizza, takeaway fish and chips or Thai at the local Cruiser Club.

Along the way you can stop at Sunset Cove, (a lovely protected sandy beach area. This spot is great for kids and also has a playground. At the end of the Esplanade you can jump on the ferry to Raymond Island where you can experience the well known koala trail. Raymond Island is also home to over 60 bird species. If you walk or take a bicycle on the ferry it is free of charge.

Paynesville is a delightful coastal town, better known as 'the boating capital of Victoria'. It's surrounded by lakes on 3 sides with many canals and inlets. The lakes are perfect for motor cruisers, yachts, power boats, jet skis and kayaks. You might like to fish for flat head, bream or mullet, or hopefully watch the dolphins that are well known to this area. (Boat hire is available from Bulls Cruisers in Slip Rd).

You’ll also find a wide variety of retail outlets including 2 supermarkets, a pharmacy, 2 bakeries and a wine bar which has live entertainment on weekends. There's safe swimming areas and playgrounds, an 18 hole golf course just out of town and a bowls club plus many walking trails to keep wanderers happy.
