The space
Monte de Bordalos, located in the vicinity of the Maranhão dam, in the municipality of Avis, is located within a quiet 724-hectare estate composed of forest, predominantly assembled by sheep, and irrigated, namely corn or other annual crops and vineyards.

The 300-year-old hill, fully refurbished in 2023, offers accommodations that include 6 large suites with independent entrances and private bathrooms, plus a T1 and two T2. The fully equipped kitchen is at guests' disposal, who can still enjoy a spacious and comfortable living room, with an amazing view of the Maranhão and Avis dam, a dining room and a game room with ping-pong table and footing table.

Monte de Bordalos also offers an outdoor pool and a close and easy access to the Maranhão dam, which allows you to enjoy nautical activities. There are bicycles and kayaks at guests' disposal, allowing you to explore the beauty of the Herdade and the dam. It is also possible to fish.

Monte is part of a rich region in Prehistoric, Roman and Medieval monuments. The village of Avis stands out, the former headquarters of the monastic-military order of S. Bento de Avis, founded in the 19th century XII by the first King of Portugal, or the famous Coudelaria Nacional de Alter do Chão, which is about 30 km away.

We do not have a cafeteria or restaurant service, but we have great quality frozen meals for sale if our guests want to buy.

The cleaning of the rooms and changing clothes of the beds and bath towels is carried out once a week by a cleaning team.

Other things to note
The access is done by an 8 km (8 km) dirt path, which guarantees a sense of isolation and privacy, not to mention adventure!

Montes de Charme is a Guest House with breakfast located on the magnificent dam of Maranhão. It is an exclusive paradise, with a stunning landscape, with only 6 rooms, ninety minutes from Lisbon, in the middle of the Alentejo wines and flavors route. It has direct access to the calm and warm waters of the dam (the temperature reaches 28ºC in summer) where you can enjoy leisure activities such as kayaks, stand-up paddles, or rowing boats, all included in the price of your stay.

The space
The propriety has several green spaces and corners, both for the most romantic and for the younger ones. A 10 m x 5 m swimming pool, a jacuzzi, an orchard where you can stroll, and access to the dam.

At night, the illuminated village of Avis is the accommodation's exclusive setting.
