- "We enjoyed our stay here very much. Penny was extremely helpful and our rooms were spacious and clean The pool was excellent as was the breakfast. There is a good restaurant nearby but the local village itself is nondescript. Lisbon and Sintra are nearby. We hired a car which made getting around easier but perhaps that isn't essential. Apart from the very noisy Canadians next door it was a great stay " - "A great experience. We were treated more like family friends than paying guests. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious, immaculately clean and the décor was beautiful. Good quality toiletries were provided (e.g. shower gel / shampoo etc) and a mini fridge was full of beer, soft drinks and fresh milk which was all complimentary, as was a bowl of fruit and a bottle of wine. Lots of hints and tips were given about travelling around the area - this was extremely useful. We were also provided with a telephone number for a local taxi driver who could speak / understand English. The accommodation was very convenient for visiting lots of places (e.g. Lisbon, Sintra, Estoril coast, etc) - all within 20-30 minute journey. The train station is only a short walk away. Travel is extremely cheap too - a single ticket to Lisbon costs approx. 1.85 Euros.Breakfast was continental and a variety of cereals, breads, ham, cheese and cake were provided - plenty was provided and if you wanted anything different you only had to ask. We will certainly be returning and will be recommending to family and friends."

- "Everything was magnificent! The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Room was spacious and clean. Wonderful view to the beach. There were also plenty parking spaces. " - "Beautiful, quiet, small hotel. Spacious comfortable room (we were in a premium room). You'd benefit from having a car here, but it's not essential. It's slightly inconvenient the hotel doesn't offer evening meals but the village is a 5-10min walk downhill and has several restaurants (we went in the quiet season and there were always at least 2 open). One offers delivery to the hotel but beware it's cash only! Sintra and Lisbon are approx 30mins away by car for sightseeing - Ubers serve the area and are very inexpensive or the hotel can arrange transfers. We borrowed mountain bikes for free and cycled 4km to the beach - be aware it's quite challenging cycling in the area due to hills and off-road terrain, so this wouldn't be an option for everyone, but if you are reasonably fit or cycle regularly you will love the beautiful landscape of the national park. The beach is beautiful with golden sand but huge waves on this coast mean no swimming. Yes, as some reviews mention, there was still building work on a neighbouring property when we visited (March 2025) and it's a bit ugly on one side of the hotel but we weren't disturbed by construction noise. Helpful staff, delicious breakfast, nice indoor and poolside lounging areas."
