- "I had a comfortable stay at the Studio apartment. It’s located on the attic of the house and everything was as pictured. The check-in process was smooth and Kim sent very detailed instruction ahead of time. I see other comments mentioning the room smell and it was damp. For me, yes the bathroom does smell but if you close the bathroom door and open the window in the bathroom that solves the problem. I can see how this may be an issue during winter because it will be cold but there is also heating/AC in the room. Most European city can be very humid but I ve had way worse so this was overall a good experience."

First, the address is wrong, it is actually the next street over. The hotel has no name, it is just he name of the street. The phone number does not work at all, just voice mail in Portuguese, no call back ever. They send email to ask for another $80 on top of full payment to Expedia. They did not give me the access code to the property door and room until 10pm when my check in is at 3pm. There are bugs in the room every where, a/c and heat both don’t work. Zero communication or any support. If I needed an extra tool or toilet paper, I am on my own. Shower tiles are disgusting with black mold, the steps on the stairs are chipped and you can fall to your death. The property is dusty and run down. I am going to ask Expedia to refund my costs, this is total fraud. I should sue for damages but I have better things to do than waste one more second on this dump. "

- "“Wow!” What can we say, we had a wonderful experience in this quaint apartment right in the middle of the Old Historic Unesco Centre. We were met by Miguel on arrival and he assisted us getting to the apartment as no vehicles are allowed in the Historic Centre. Miguel spent a fair amount of time explaining the ins and outs of the apartment and reviewed the many things to see and do in Sintra and surrounding area. We were provided a bottle of lovely Portuguese red wine and scrumptious cookies to enjoy during our stay. The apartment was located in a very busy part of the town with lots to see and do; it was noisy during the day, however, after 5:00 pm all was very quiet as the visiting day tourists from Lisbon and other areas all departed. The apartment was very comfortable, clean and well maintained, with many funky art pieces to enjoy and books on the area to enjoy. It was an easy walk to the main part of the town to explore and partake in the many restaurants, and the bus service was excellent to get around to the many local historic sites, Pena Palace, Moorish Castle, Quinta da Regaleira, etc. and the town of Praia das Macao on the Atlantic coast to have lunch over looking the ocean; take the bus there, however return on the Sintra tram (Electrico de Sintra), well worth the experience. Our hosts Miguel and Sonia were wonderful and followed up during our four night stay to ensure we were not having any problems, and to answer any questions we may have had, and to bring more “cookies”. Without any reservations, we highly recommend the apartment for a stay in Sintra."

About the only thing to caution is that you probably want have a car to stay here: there is transit nearby but it can take time and be confusing to plan, so you really want to be able to drive into Sintra to make the most of your time here. Our spacious apartment is available to rent on a nightly or weekly basis. Unlike other vacation rentals, breakfast and daily maid service is included in the price, and we are always on hand to see to your needs, while at the same time giving you complete privacy. We can also provide transport to and from the airport.
The accommodation comprises 1 twin bedroom; living room with comfortable double sofa bed, TV and DVD/CD player; a large, fully equipped kitchen and full bathroom. It is centrally heated for winter stays. Ideally suited for 2 people but sleeps up to 4, and even a family of five using a rollaway bed. As we are so centrally located you have no need of a car, everything can be reached easily either on foot or by public transport. Hiring a car does give you the obvious advantage of exploring a wider area at your leisure. If you choose to have a car there is parking in the square outside the house.
A holiday in Sintra gives you a wealth of experiences, with lush gardens, royal palaces and castles it is the capital of Romanticism. Used as a central base there are also many great days out to be had. Lisbon is only 19km away, Cascais, Estoril, Mafra, Ericeira are just a short drive or bus ride. Even Obidos, Tomar, Fatima or the Alentejo can be visited as a day trip. No wonder it has always been a favourite of poets and Kings through the ages!

Chez Nous holiday home is a light and cosy one bedroom home located on the Atlantic coastline between Praia das Maças & Azenhas do Mar in Sintra. Close to the beach at Praia das Maçãs you will find a saltwater pool, tennis courts, restaurants, cafes, wine shops, pharmacy, post office, fish and fresh fruit market along with a host of other amenities! Within 5 to mins by bus or Uber you will find the beaches of Praia Grande, Praia Pequena, Azenhas do Mar, among others!

Fishermen drop lines from some 500ft above to catch fish. My favorite restaurant was Barmacia and simply watching the sun set into the fall fog bank that descends after about 3 to 4 hrs of heat and sun in the afternoon. Be ready to read alot here too. They have lots of books."

TOURIST TAX
The Sintra Municipality charges a tourist tax, which is paid directly to the local accommodation at Check-in for all guests aged 13 and older. The amount is EUR 2 per guest/night. For stays of more than 3 consecutive nights, only 3 nights will be charged.

ACCOMMODATION FORM
The room is registered at Turismo de Portugal and supervised by the local authorities. It is mandatory to fill in the Accommodation Bulletin, according to current legislation we are obliged to notify the respective authorities of all guests who check in and out with us.

SELF CHECK-IN
