Praia D’El Rey has won many awards as Europe’s leading golf & leisure resort, and Portugal’s top golf resort . My place is a large, fairly new home, with a balcony from every room. The property is on the second floor (one up from ground). There is a car parking spot in front. Perfectly manicured gardens and pool surround the apartment. Free WiFi.

The 600 acre resort is an easy 1 hour drive north of Lisbon Airport, on the A8 motorway. It is West of the medieval fortress town of Óbidos and close to the picturesque fishing village of Peniche. Offshore lie the Berlenga Islands designated as a national nature reserve.

It is on the 1st floor with exclusive access from the outside. It has four balconies / terraces, three of them in common with the room and in common with the rooms. The pool is for exclusive use of residents / tenants of Burgo D. Afonso V. It is equipped with everything you need, TV LCD, DVD, stove, oven, microwave, Nespresso Coffee Machine, Electric Kettle, Toaster, Wand, Hair Dryer. There is also Wi-Fi internet and a 40-channel TV. No pets or smoking indoors. Sheets, towels and other (kitchen towels, table cloths, etc.) are provided for use.

This excellently maintained luxury 2 bed apartment is situated on the exclusive Praia Del Rey Golf and Country Club Resort. The apartments were awarded a Gold Medal for the best construction in Portugal by Home Overseas. It is fully furnished to a very high standard with four sun terraces giving total privacy. Both bedrooms open on to a terrace and the apartment is centrally heated and has a wood burning fire for winter months.

The apartment is next to the driving range and Clubhouse overlooking the 6th Tee. The apartment has the use of a heated communal and children's pool and is also located close to a beautiful beach. Praia Del Rey is Portugal's No. 1 golf course and is ranked 13th in Europe by Golf World. The Clubhouse is located a 2 minutes walk and offers a restaurant, bar, snacks and lounge area with cable TV and games room. There are also all weather tennis courts available.

Flights/Car Hire: The closest Airport is Lisbon and is serviced by flights with British Airways, Monarch, TAP, Easyjet, Ryanair and Aer Lingus Booking as early as possible will enable you to get some very reasonable rates. For Car Hire it is also advisable to book car hire before arrival and this will again secure the best rates. The drive to Praia del Rey is about 50 miles and nearly all of it is on a motorway and is very easy. If you take a taxi from the airport it will cost approx. 70-90 euros.

Activities: Within the Praia del Rey complex is an 18 hole Championship golf course - Clubhouse with restaurant. 5* Marriot Hotel with restaurants, spas and fitness rooms. Seven all weather tennis courts. Childrens activity playground. Swimming pool. Beach for sunbathing or long walks. 3km is Obidos Lagoon - ideal for paddling with very small children.
There is also a Club Adventura for children up to the ages of 16 whereby they can undertake activities, under strict supervision from qualified staff, from surfing, sailing, paint balling, etc.

The Area: Obidos and Peniche are the two large interesting towns close by. Obidos dates from 300BC and a world heritage town with narrow streets leading to a castle at the top of the hill surrounded by a walled town. It is very pretty with its whitewashed walls and blue paint with bourganvilla's and hanging baskets of cascading flowers. Peniche is a working fishing port where day trips to the Berlengas Islands (National Park) can be taken in summer. Other towns Bombarral (wine), Caldas da Rainha ( good shopping, market and restaurants), Foz do Arrelho (alternate beaches) Fatima (religious shrine) Lisbon (museums, shopping and nightlife).

Roseanna, your Guide Book kept at the apartment was such a help to us with a wealth of info on restaurants and attractions. Come the evening we found it so easy to chill in the beautifully decorated apartment with a glass of wine and a movie on the t.v. and the free WiFi makes such a difference. The Caribbean was originally the stables and home to a donkey and turkeys but with 35sqm you won't feel cooped up in this complete high spec renovation. Accessed by its own private entrance from the spacious central courtyard, it has been fully converted to give you everything you need for your holiday - the bathroom features a custom walk in shower, the kitchen has full oven, gas hob, microwave, Dolce Gusto coffee machine, toaster, kettle and a range of gourmet tools to conjure up something with the figs that you can actually pick from leaning over on your own elevated sun deck. The sunken lounge is reached down stone steps and has a flat screen TV with main UK channels, wifi and a pellet burner, and the glass double doors slide open to the deck with BBQ and valley beyond. The double bed has been inset under a large sleeper beam to providing a cozy comfortable and unique sleeping arrangement with starry sky lights above, however it has been designed that you can easily pull the bed out if you prefer. Although very peaceful we feel QBV is ideally suited being less than 8km from both Obidos and Buddha Eden - the largest oriental garden in Europe. A variety of beaches can be reached within 25 mins including the lagoon at Foz do A'relho or the world class surf beaches at Peniche or Baleal. Lisbon is under an hour away and can be easily reached by bus or Sintra is only 1 hr 20 mins away so we feel we are ideally situated for you to have a very cosy, classy and comfortable home away from home base to relax in after exploring the delights of the Silver Coast and beyond.

- "We loved our stay here. The kitchen has everything you’ll need if you self cater and the beds are very comfortable. The garden and outside facilities are lovely and well kept. The pool is a few steps from the patio and a few times we were the only people in there. Our host was very well organised and answered any questions we had and communicated perfectly and gave us advice on local amenities and restaurants. We had a hire care and visited Baleal beach a number of times which is about 15 minutes drive. You can park right outside the property and the area was amazingly quiet which is why we slept so well. The club house is about 20 minutes walk and has nice views over surrounding area. We would definitely recommend this stay."

The Adriatic (we held back from calling it the AdriATTIC) is the fully converted upper floor of the original farm house at Quinta Do Bom Vento accessed by its own private external stairway. The open plan studio design of 30m2 has its own private bathroom, fully equipped kitchenette then a queen sized bed with small dining and dressing tables and open hanging wardrobe with shelves. 2 comfortable chairs allow you to take in the stunning valley views through the floor to ceiling double doors on the rare occasions you aren't out on your elevated private tiled terrace with panoramic valley views sunbathing or having a bbq. A glass wind break ensures that you can enjoy this space even if the village of Bom Vento (Good Wind) is living up to its name.
We designed all of our quintinhas as homes as opposed to rentals and we believe the quality of furnishings, linens and towels reflect that. Knowing how frustrating it can be renting rural properties and arriving to an empty fridge and cupboards, we provide an extensive starter pack including milk, butter, cold meats, cheese, bread, fruit, tea, coffee, wine and beer along with essentials such as washing up liquid, paper towels, oils and vinegars. etc. Recognising the ever restrictive luggage allowances on flights we also provide toiletries and beach towels.
